 While the property is a bit more expensive than some alternatives, we found it to be well worth the cost. The quality of service, accommodations, and unique experiences provided excellent value.
 We are sorry that we couldn't get an elephant morning wake up call. I feel sad for the few people that complain and make life difficult for others and also for the elephants. I think the elephant enjoyed waking up humans. We were delighted to see a pair of Northern Thailand reindeer, which was an unexpected treat.
 We are already looking forward to returning and were genuinely sad to leave. Overall, this was an outstanding experience, and we would not hesitate to recommend it to others seeking a unique and memorable stay.

"I had an absolutely wonderful stay here in Mae Kampong. The accommodation was spotlessly clean, peaceful, and surrounded by lush greenery, with a lovely stream running right beside the property. The cool, fresh air and beautiful natural setting made my stay incredibly relaxing. The place was also fully equipped with everything I needed. What made this experience truly unforgettable was the host. They were incredibly kind, warm, friendly, and attentive, and took better care of me than any host I have ever met. The host even made pizza for dinner—and it was absolutely amazing! Honestly, it was the most delicious pizza I have ever had in my life. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Mae Kampong. I would definitely love to stay here again!"

"While there aren't many staff members, their service attitude is excellent. They are friendly and attentive to guests' needs. The environment is beautiful, but being on a mountain, there are many different types of insects. There aren't many rooms, so the atmosphere is quiet and comfortable."

The surroundings near Mae Kampong village added to the charm, with a quiet, peaceful setting that made the whole stay feel like a proper escape. "Celebrated our first wedding anniversary here💚 Everything was magical! Even a pouring rain didn’t ruin the experience. The food was amazing, especially Khao Tom for breakfast. The staff was absolutely polite and welcoming. The hotel is located a little too far from the Mae Kampong village but we managed to walk up there somehow 🙃 Do not recommend walking there though! The hotel has a transfer service so you might want to use that instead. And they also provide an affordable transfer back to Chiang Mai! Overall it was a perfect stay and I would love to go there someday again."

It strikes a perfect balance between feeling homely and offering all the amenities you’d expect from a high-quality stay, all set within a beautiful jungle environment. Arriving by car was straightforward, and one of the first things that stood out was the charming luggage pulley system that carries your bags up to the main house. It’s a small touch, but really memorable and adds to the character of the place. I was greeted by several friendly staff members, and check-in was quick and easy. The design and architecture of the property are what initially drew me in, and it absolutely lived up to expectations. I was shown to my room straight away and couldn’t have been happier. The bed was very comfortable, and the standout feature is the private balcony, which looks directly out into the surrounding jungle. It’s the kind of place you can sit for hours, just listening to nature. The room itself is thoughtfully equipped, with bathrobes, towels, a hairdryer, and a full set of bathroom amenities. There’s also a fridge stocked with cold bottled water. The bathroom was spacious, with a large shower and a beautiful freestanding bath positioned to take in the jungle views. The atmosphere really comes into its own in the evening, when the property is softly lit, creating a calm and relaxing setting. Waking up early to watch the sunrise from the balcony was a highlight. The light filtering through the trees and the sounds of the forest make it feel very special. In the morning, I was served a traditional Thai breakfast, with the option of fresh drip coffee and orange juice, which was a great start to the day. The location is also ideal, around a 10 to 15 minute walk from the main Mae Kampong village, so you’re close enough to explore while still enjoying peace and quiet. Overall, this was a really relaxing and restorative stay. I’m very glad I chose Portare Home and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Mae Kampong."

"The accommodation matched the description perfectly, and the atmosphere was lovely 🍃. They offer a simple yet delicious breakfast 🍲. It's not too far from Mae Kampong village, and it's easily accessible by car or motorcycle 🛵🚗. At night, there might be some insects, but it's not a big deal, just typical for a natural setting. Once you turn off the lights, you can sleep soundly. It was very comfortable. The weather was cool, and one fan was more than enough 🌿."
