"We had a early flight and could not have breakfast at 6.30. The promised lunch package was not complied with because no one was at the reception at 6.45.
We had to open the closed door to leave the hotel, because no one was present to check out and open the door."

The only downside: i upgraded us to a suit and it was a mistake. There was only an old bathtub and it was really gross. The normal rooms would have been much better to stay in, so don’t upgrade.
Other than that, we had a lovely stay."

"Utterly enchanting- from our 5am arrival until our departure 3 days later we were looked after so incredibly well. The hotel organised our airport pickup and opened up with a gentle tap (you may need help to find it as it’s in the narrow streets of old Stonetown). The front of house was superb and Peter took care of us. The hotel has so much atmosphere, full of antiques and lush vegetation. Breakfast is in the roof balcony. Excursions can be organised. I had read a few unpleasant reviews but I can’t think why, cleanliness was first class and the hospitality was outstanding. I hope you are lucky enough to find a room - we stayed 3 nights it was so good."

"The room was clean but too damp. The whole room smelled damp. The price was not cheap. There was a resident singer on the top floor of the hotel until 22:30. If you didn't listen, it was like living in a KTV downstairs. The breakfast and the paid a la carte dinner were not good. I ordered an expensive seafood platter (see the picture). The half lobster in it tasted like it had been dead for a long time. The meat tasted powdery. And their meals are really not cheap."

"The staff were very friendly and helpful, old style hostel but it was clean and some little hearts on the bed , small things to feel welcomed .

"It's in a great location in the center of town. I was able to walk to anywhere in Stone Town.
The room I stayed in had one queen-size bed. It was a room, but it had no windows and was very dark, so I don't recommend staying in the room during the day. I don't recommend staying in the room during the day.
There was a turndown service, and they sprayed the room with nuts and insect repellent at night. Breakfast was included, but you could choose from three types, and it was very filling and very satisfying."

"Advantages: Hotel located at the port which allows you to explore the entire old town on foot. The room is nice and spacious and the bathroom was generally clean. The staff is very pleasant. Breakfast is pretty good (especially the egg menu items) and the one dinner we had there was excellent. The view from the rooftop is magnificent.
Disadvantages:
The neighborhood is very noisy and the room (303) was under the rooftop restaurant so there was a lot of noise until at least 11pm and from 6am in the morning.
Even though the bathroom was clean we found 2 cockroaches."

2200269****The hotel is located in Stone Town, and the car can only drive to the parking lot outside. There are signs indicating that it is easy to find. It takes five or six minutes to walk from the hotel to the beach. What I want to complain about is that the hotel's breakfast is nothing to eat. The restaurant is on the top floor. Looking out, there are simple and low houses around, and you can't see the sea. It doesn't have the effect in the hotel's promotional photos. To be honest, I just booked it after seeing the beautiful scenery of the restaurant in the hotel's promotional photos.

There is also the only Chinese restaurant on Sang Island 300 meters away, which is very cost-effective. Recommended. However, the dolphin watching and prison island recommended by the hotel are relatively expensive, so if possible, look outside.

GGuest UserThe location is at the quiet side if the Stone Town. Due to it is situated inside a small alley, the directions could be quite complicated and we were lost several times to head back to the hotel. Despite being assured that it's safe, we were tapped by few mischievous children when we passed by a school near the hotel. That said, the room and hotel itself was great. We particularly enjoyed the breeze at the open air loft, where we could view the sea and ships from far away. It was indeed relaxing. The historical bed and bath in the room made the experience so unique. The only downside was there was insufficient of hot water for the bath. The breakfast wise was in fact the best we had in Tanzania, not to mention the impeccable hospitality provided by the staff there. Special shout out to the helpful staff who assisted us with our luggage during check in and out. Bear in mind on the steep staircase up to the room and inside the room to the loft. It might not be suitable for those who have knee problem, as you literally need to climb up and down everytime to the washroom. Otherwise, it was quite a memorable stay.

YYon-iiiRoom, Balcony, View from the room and Restaurant is really nice. But only one thing they need to improve in their reception customer service.
Room I signed when I check in and Room I really received was different. They changed the room without notice. I asked why they said it's same room inside. But it was totally different. Changed room has no privacy at all. We have to close the window during the stay.
And I asked for late check out when I check in. They told me to check last day in the morning. In last day, I asked again for 2hrs late check out. They refused my request even didn't check the system. Just say NO. I am very disappointed with their attitude. And when I checked the site there were plenty room left.
As everyone knows Zanzibar is the holiday place. Most of 5 star hotels in holiday place, they run check out time very flexible due to flight time. No deserve to have 5 stars in customer service.

GGuest UserIt's a little hard to find because it's in an alley in Stone Town. The room was clean and cute with a blue theme, which made me feel good. There was air conditioning and there were no mosquitoes, so I didn't have to worry about getting bitten by them and I was able to stay comfortably. The breakfast at the restaurant across the street was also very delicious. The shuttle service to the airport was $20.

There is no phone in the room, I'd like to suggest even having a pager in the room would be helpful. Also no wifi in the room I think that should be an option.

Radiotherapy is smaller. The hotel arranged a barge to pick up a tour to Guidao. Taxi is also arranged by the hotel. Cheap price.

GGuest UserBEYT AL SALAAM was superb. Aminia and team were the nicest people we have met. There kind assistance with all our plans and excursions made our holiday truly unforgettable. The room was tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. A large comfortable bed with chrisp white linen and very comfortable pillows. It had an airconditioner, ceiling fan, tv and tea and coffee facilities. A nice indoor swimming pool
