Wij verbleven in the Servants Quarters waar (de naam zegt het al) in het verleden het personeel verbleef. De butler woonde beneden en de meid boven. Het ligt wat verscholen aan de doorgaande weg tussen Inverness en Thurso (A9). Er is een klein, maar gezellig keukentje. Alle benodigdheden om een ontbijtje of een eenvoudige maaltijd te bereiden zijn aanwezig. Een magnetron, kookplaat, waterkoker, broodrooster en uiteraard bestek, borden, bekers, pannen, glazen etc. etc. Beneden is een gezellige slaapkamer met douche en toilet. Boven idem dito. Alles is keurig verzorgd en op beide kamers hangt een TV. Er is geen contact met de eigenaar. Bij aankomst zit de sleutel in een kastje dat je kunt openen met een vantevoren doorgegeven code. Op de vertrekdag moet je voor 10 uur weg zijn. Het geheel ligt op een soort kleine camping waar je overigens vrijwel niets van mee krijgt. Voor kinderen is een leuke bijkomstigheid de hoeveelheid boerderijdieren die er te zien zijn zoals ponies, schapen en varkens. Wij hebben het gebruikt als uitvalbasis voor een bezoek aan Dunrobin castle. Dan merk je wel dat de A9 erg druk is, omdat je rechtsaf naar het noorden de weg moet oversteken hetgeen wel een beetje een uitdaging is.

Stayed in the Smokehouse, Auld Reekie for 2 nights. Just wonderful! Hot tub overlooking fields was perfect. Private BBQ. Beautiful scenery, breakfast delivered , warm.pain au chocolate, yogurt, cereal, juice etc for £5 !. Accommodation has absolutely everything you could possibly need. A perfect cosy hideaway

Paul the owner was fantastic. Great communication throughout and the place is excellent. There is an array of animals on the property for kids and adults to see, the area is clean, spacious and laid out excellently. The cabin had everything you needed and the mod cons that I was surprised to see like a TV and electric wall heaters. Great place to be and would love to come back again.

I visited delny glamping last night for the first time with my friend we stayed in 1 of the barrels, my friend had been before and raved about this place so I was looking forward to visiting well it didn't disappoint I was amazed what a beautiful place 😍 lovely views, barrel was lovely and cosy breakfast was great we sat outside on the table and chairs and enjoyed the beautiful morning. Arrived home and already booked our next visit staying in the chalet next with my hubby and the kids looking forward to our return in October. Also lovely welcoming hosts. 🙂
