Dreams Lanzarote Playa Dorada Resort & Spa

This is a very nice hotel in a great location with all the staff being super helpful and friendly. We stayed half board on the preferred basis. We requested a room change as we prefer one that catches the afternoon sun and this was done promptly by guest relations. The Preferred status gives you access to better rooms and some adults lovely pools and a lounge where you can get snacks and drinks ( non alcoholic). The Preferred breakfast lounge was excellent. The staff are fantastic and are always willing to help. The choices in the on-site restaurants was fantastic as was the quality of the food. I would have given this hotel five out of five but we were disappointed with the choice of sandwiches in the Preferred lounge which was virtually all meat (always Salami or ham) with no choices for vegetarians or vegans unless you wanted only salad and on complaining the next day there was one vegetarian choice of what looked like sandwich spread. If on half board you eat your evening meal at the Buffet restaurant or you can change it for lunch and it was in here we also struggled with little or no choice for vegetarians / vegans, Yes there was lots of vegetables but unless you wanted pizza pasta no real options so after complaining we were pleased to see vegetable paella but disappointed to find it had shellfish in it and vegetable soup which had chicken in it🙄 plus many dishes were incorrectly signed which could be a real hazard for anyone with allergies and on complaining again better options appeared near the end of our holiday including some great no meat options. Overall this is a great hotel with lovely staff that l would go back too as we had a great stay but it could do better.
Secrets Lanzarote Resort & Spa - Adults Only (+18)

This hotel is in a lovely quiet location. It has great amenities including several pools and restaurants. The best thing is the staff who are fantastic, friendly and very helpful. Food is good but not great. We felt they would benefit from including daily specials to boost variety. It’s worth upgrading to Preferred for the access to private pool area and restaurants. One strange thing is that despite being adults only most of the pool areas are very shallow so not suitable for swimming. We would recommend eating at the sushi bar Gotham. The chef is brilliant, very charismatic and makes some fantastic sushi. Our trip went well for 8 days but then the hotel was invaded by a massive group of Americans on a corporate reward group. This turned a hotel that was supposed to be romantic and for couples into a noisy, shindig. The noise levels increased with the alcohol consumption from late afternoon until late night. It was a very disappointing end to what had been a lovely holiday. Surely a hotel that advertises it is for couples should not be offering mass corporate stays.
Club la Santa - All Sports Inclusive

I can honestly say I am really disappointed with my stay at Club La Santa, so much so I even started to look at leaving early to move to another hotel. Here are the reasons; 1) when booking I had no idea there was such a huge difference in accommodation. The old rooms are truly awful. The type of accommodation you'd expect on a school trip. Cramped, shabby with no air conditioning. There's no sound proofing, so if you have loud neighbours forget a peaceful night or morning lie in. The wardrobes are laughable in size. I'm assuming they work on the premise most people pack light. 2) The food is really poor. The buffet is so depressing as everything is over cooked, and looks like it's been sitting under heated lamps for hours. The only restaurant that appears to be any good is El Lago but it's expensive. The meal we had by the pool was so depressing. I couldn't even muster the energy to complain...I didn't even know where to begin. 3) There are so few activities for under 10s. And for the limited under 15s activities if you don't get in quick they are all booked up super quickly. Surely at the height of summer it would make sense to increase the frequency of activities to allow the kids to have the opportunity to participate? I had wrongly assumed my kids would be back to back activities but they are a lot less options for U15s than I had thought, and it's just a race to book up which adds an extra stress to the holiday. 4) the pool area, there is a tiny amount of shade options, so again unless you reserve a lounger quickly you won't get a chance to have shade. This is really a place to come if you take your training really seriously, then it's clearly a great option. But I'm struggling to see how it works for a young family who want to have a go at as many activities as possible. Counting the days until we go home....
THB Tropical Island

Lovely family friendly hotel. Plenty of things to keep the children entertained and some really exceptional onsite activities. Rooms/Facilities in need of some upgrading in the apartments. Not alot of storage space. Main pool depth isn't a gradual drop it's 1.5m so not great for anyone who is on the smaller side. Only a short 5 minute drive to the Marina and the Beach, 20 minute walk. Cars in the car park are a laughing stock and most take up 2 spaces and should really be looked at by the hotel.
