It's a adventure driving to this accommodation. Even the maps said we were heading the right way. The end result was a delightful experience. Nice room and cosy bed. Very welcoming hospitality. The home cooked Scottish breakfast is a amazing.

Situated about a mile from Bowmore it is literally in the middle of nowhere with open 360 beautiful views on clear days you can see both Northern and Southern Ireland and Jura from the various windows. It is a standalone B&B, Jimmy, Caroline and son Archie live next door. You have the use of the house there is a comfy sitting room and nice kitchen dining area used for breakfast cooked fresh by a combination Jimmy, Caroline or Archie and are an excellent spread. Fresh fruit cereal yogurt to start with followed by a hearty full breakfast cooked with your choice of options. With toast and whiskey(what else) marmalade which is very good. The rooms are all spacious with on suites and showers one has a bath as well (snuck a peek before the others arrived). Everything is very clean, The only thing to be aware of for allergy sufferers some of the pillows appear to be down Filled. We didnt get our rooms done or fresh towels but to be honest wasnt an issue, I am sure if we had asked it would have been done as our hosts go out of their way to make an enjoyable trip. Jimmy is a character and chats and is happy to impart his love for the local area and knowledge and also runs a taxi service which is quite handy and we used him a few tikes to get into and back from Bowmore when we couldn't be bothered to walk. But like everything else on the island the pace is steady, laidback and peacefully and works on Jimmy time. But great place great service run by a really nice family.. See you next year Jimmy. Just to show the extra mile they will go, we arrived at the time with a couple who had flown in from Vancouver, they tried to find somewhere to eat but most places stop serving at 8pm. So Caroline drove into Bowmore to get them fish and chips so they got food. Nice touch.

This small hotel / B&B is superb. Hosts Jim and Caroline looked after us extremely well and were able to tell us all about the island. Jim booked our evening meals for us and we particularly enjoyed Lochindaal Seafood Kitchen and the Ballygrant Inn. A day trip to Jura was rewarding and we also enjoyed visiting the RSPB reserve at Loch Gruinart to see the wetlands.

Great hospitality, well maintained house, super good breakfasts. Scenic backyard has good sunset, "chat" with cows and rabbits. Jim is a great host, lots of stories and jokes. Jim also helped taxi us after our dinner in town. Highly recommended.

Hosts Jim and Caroline are both warm and welcoming. We really felt at home here. Breakfasts were delicious. Our accommodations were comfortable and clean. The location is serene and quiet, surrounded by fields with cows and sheep, with a nice view of the loch. Jim’s taxi service is great too, and Jim is wonderful at sharing information about Islay.

From the moment we arrived until the morning we departed after our two night stay, Caroline, Jim and Bailey made us feel like one of the family with their warm welcome. Super breakfast to start the day and lots of local knowledge to help us make the most of our visit. The weather was kind, we had wonderful sunsets and Dha Urlar is a great place to rest and relax after a day enjoying the variety of interesting sights that make Islay a special island. Thank you for your hospitality.

This is the 5th hotel/guest house on our travels, and the 5th 5 star review. The hospitality on the Scottish Islands is truly remarkable, and no exception at this magnificent property. One large house with 3 bedrooms, and a lounge/diner area to share with other guests. Cutlery, plates etc available if you decide to bring back a takeaway in the evening. The other guests were a pleasure to meet, with lots of laughs and banter in the evenings. The hosts were extremely accommodating and helpful, and the breakfasts plentiful, with a great choice. Very informative on where to visit, and there are indeed some hidden gems, as well as the many whisky distilleries! A word of warning if you use a sat nav from the ferry port! A couple of miles from the guest house, you may find yourself turning right up a farm track with cow's either side of you! Do not turn up here! The actual turn (signposted Bowmore) is a mile further on. To conclude, I can only agree with all the other 5 star reviews. A great place to stay, and would not hesitate to book again on another visit. Many Thanks.
