Hotels near Kawachi Shrine, Iwakuni

I really wish I could rate Hotel Trend higher, but I felt it was just an average hotel. Some positives were the staff. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel did include breakfast, there is a small charge for breakfast, but they had a lot to offer. I was not a fan of all the waste that is used for preparing the breakfasts. Each dish is bite sized and they wrap it in plastic, which accumulates to a lot of waste. The food was good though, and traditional. The rooms and bathrooms were on the smaller side. I recently moved to Iwakuni and had three suitcases leaving little room inside. But the rooms were clean and had all the necessary items. My biggest frustration with the hotel was the Wi-Fi. My room rarely had a strong connection, and I had to get help several times. Overall, Hotel Trend is a basic hotel that is worth it for a few nights but it does have it's limits.

Quality of hotel chain stability. Well, it feels like a place to stay with peace of mind at a low price. There is not so much distance from the station, and the convenience store and the location are good if you cross the signal. As long as you are happy with the low height of the bathtub and the large size than other Toyoko. I have used it several times since the opening, but I still smell new construction such as adhesives and paint because the corona is not good. If you have a membership card, you will register as a room key. The room is a type of electric when the card key is applied, but if you change a little thin point card instead, you will not respond. I tried to put a credit card with the weight of the room, but it was not good, and it might be a type of reading room key. I made a plan to walk Suo-Oshima during the four consecutive holidays in September. Accommodations on the island are fully booked on some days, and nearby Yanai City is also fully booked. So I made it to Iwakuni. I was able to stay very cheaply during the Go To campaign. It was a few minutes walk from Iwakuni station, but I was happy that the parking lot was free. The room is on the 6th floor with 11 floors and has a little view. The area is about 14m2, so there is no problem if you are alone. The hotel is not new, but it was clean. The faucet in the bath was old-fashioned and I felt a little nostalgic. I was happy that breakfast started at 6 o'clock. The content is pretty good. The price is kept low, and I think that it is a passing level enough for a local business hotel.

The neighborhood is large, with an indoor balcony, the bathroom is separated from the wet and dry, facing the sea, and the facilities are a bit dated. Dinner is the kind of kaiseki that is scheduled in the restaurant in advance, but each dish is super mini. Even the plate is not as big as a woman's palm. The dishes are as small as half a mouthful and the taste is not enough. It ’s only half a bowl of miso soup to fill up with the last bowl of rice. Girls are okay, men are not full. Fortunately, a small shop in the lobby has snacks and instant noodles, but it ’s full because there ’s no shop. Breakfast seems better than dinner. There is a small soup to make.

The location is very good, just a few minutes walk to the Itsukushima Shinto Shrine and Mt. Misen Ropeway station. There is a free shuttle bus station right outside the hotel to go the ropeway station. You can see the Torii throughout the hotel window. At night when the Torii with lights on, the view is stunning! The indoor onsen is not big but it's ok for 10+ people at the same time, the outside onsen is small and can only occupies 4-5ppl. The staff in the hotel are very friendly and thoughtful. I was fully wet after the hiking to Mt. Mismen on the raining day, they helped me to dry all my shoes and coat. Happy to stay at Iwaso and will definitely stay again.

Good points: 1. Location is amazing since it’s right on the island and everything is within walking distance. 2. We had breakfast and supper included in the stay. Food was varied and plentiful for most palates. Plenty of fruit and veg too. 3. Staff for 98% of the time was great. Language barriers are expected. Google translate is a perfect alternative to the translation issue. The front desk staff were awesome and was extremely helpful. 4. Room is spacious for a traditional Japanese hotel. We had our own onsen which was delightful. The beds were mostly comfortable and we had two full mattresses pushed together creating a massive king! 5. Once you enter the hotel you must take off your shoes and the hotel provides house slippers which generally fit most people. The lobby has shoe cubbies for your shoes. They do not lock, but Japan has very little petty theft so you don’t need to fret over potential thievery. Negative points: 1. This is of no fault of the hotel, rather it’s a Google maps problem. Be aware Google maps will basically have you climb the mountain and drag your suitcase through a dirt path. Instead put in the Miyajima post office and with the water to your right, turn up to the small road with the post office to your back. Keep going straight for about 2.5 city blocks and you’ll walk right into the hotel. Much easier than the 40 minute hike we took. 2. Restaurant staff on the whole were great. Only issue was this morning when we went to breakfast this morning and tried to sit in our usual table, the staff tried to sit us with some other people. I asked if we could sit at a different table and the individual said no and walked away. We didn’t know these people they tried to sit us with. However, they were tourists like us. I was frustrated because the staff member just walked away from us when I was still speaking to him. Very rude! 3. The toilet room smelled really bad. It was a combination of mold and chemicals.

Near the pier, up a hill, the environment is quiet, the bathhouse is not big, and fortunately there are not many people. The breakfast is exquisite. Some of the waiters are from Taiwan, so communication is no problem. From the rooms on the sixth floor of the hotel, you can see the old ruins of Miyao Castle on the key mountain (the site of the Itsukushima Battle), and you can see the large torii gate from the side, and the view is acceptable.

２ First stay. It was still the best. Very satisfied with the room, food and service! All-you-can-drink sake in Viking should be very satisfied with those who like sake! Because it was my daughter's birthday trip, I had her prepare dessert plates and presents, and my daughter was also very happy ♡ My family took me for the first time, but I liked it so much that I decided to stay every year! It is really helpful because it is close to the ferry stop and it is willing to take care of the luggage.
