This is the largest hotel with the best lighting and the most comfortable environment I have ever stayed in. The kawabe cuisine feels great. The room is a pleasant surprise, a combination of Japanese and Western styles, clean and sanitary. There is a private hot spring bathtub on the balcony, listening to the sound of running water. The outdoor private bath is also great. I recommend the beauty under the moon, which is very freehand. I highly recommend it! I will come again if I have the chance! There is a shuttle bus to the station in the morning. The old man is kind and enthusiastic.

The place is a bit remote, but the natural environment is great. It is a very Japanese-style hotel. The meals are served by the river, hence the name "Kawabedo cuisine". It feels great to dine while listening to the sound of flowing water.

Transportation: The transportation is a little off, but it is much more convenient than expected. You can take the bus from Shuzenji Station to the vicinity of the hotel. When checking out, there is also an old man who drives you to the nearest bus stop. Service: The service is great. From check-in to kawabe cuisine and check-out, the staff are very polite and enthusiastic. Environment: The slightly off-center transportation is exchanged for a super beautiful mountain view. After entering the room, I feel that the whole person is healed by the sound of water around. The kawabe cuisine is by the stream, and the environment is first-class. There are maple trees planted all over the mountains around the hotel, which should be very beautiful in the red leaf season. Facilities: The hotel has two bathrooms and four private baths. You can scan the code to see the use of the four private baths. The other three private baths are very good. The only problem is the meteor. When the light bulb is turned on at night, it will attract insects. It is recommended not to go at night as much as possible. A very good night for the president. I will consider continuing to book here next time. The whole place in Izu is worth staying for a few more days.

The hotel is located far away and is suitable for self-driving travelers. However, the environment is very beautiful and quiet. The hotel is very clean with almost no dust. The private bath, bathroom, bedding and the overall temperature of the hotel are all very comfortable. The hotel has just been renovated and the equipment is very good. New, the whole stay was very good. In addition, the hotel provides breakfast and dinner. Be sure to experience sitting in the fireplace, putting on cotton padded clothes and enjoying continental dishes and river views. The staff service is very attentive, including providing information on various hot springs in the hotel, introducing breakfast and dinner, and then all kinds of Snacks and matcha tea were provided, making us feel at home. The hot spring hotel provides 4 types of private hot springs for couples and families to have a private hot spring experience, and basically there is no need to queue. Of course, there are also large baths. In short, if you are traveling by car, you can definitely experience it.

It seems so remote, but the transportation is very convenient, and the scenery along the road is enough to experience the local culture. Stay in this quiet and comfortable hotel and feel the nature. June is the season of fireflies.

The location is a bit remote, so you need to charter a car or drive yourself. But it's definitely worth it. It's very cost-effective and a very traditional Japanese hotel with public hot springs and beautiful private baths. Surrounded by mountains and rivers, Kawadoko cuisine and mornings by the river while wearing the kimonos provided by the hotel are definitely a must-have.

The location is relatively remote, there are not many people, and the private bath is also very good. The surrounding scenery is good, and the breakfast by the river bed is so comfortable. Enjoying the food while admiring the scenery is so beautiful!

Nice scenery and hot springs!

We traveled as a couple throughout Kyushu in October 2023. Tatsuya ryokan was the best accommodation we experienced in the whole of Kyushu! We booked the largest room on the top floor which has recently been renovated. It was stunning! We had an enormous main room with new tatami mats. The room had a large twin bed set up, and the individual beds were extremely comfortable and bigger than most twin bed set ups in Japan. The outstanding feature of the room however, was the balcony onsen bathtub which was absolutely gorgeous. The wrap around balcony had views of the trees and bamboo grove outside the full length sliding glass doors, with distant views of the misty mountains away in the distance. The room also featured a separate large bathroom, shower and toilet. As well as the bathtub the ryokan has separate private & public baths. Another stand out feature was the kawadoko riverside dining which is a unique feature of Tatsuyo. We dined kaiseki style on exquisite food right next to the river. They provided warm kotatsu to keep warm as it was very cool in the evenings. The staff were all super friendly and helpfeul. The ryokan has several staff members who speak very good English, so there are no language barriers, even in a remote location like this.

Outstanding, reasonably priced ryokan far away from the beaten track. It takes some effort to get here (Shinkansen, local train to shuzenji and a 30 min bus ride) but it’s well worth the effort. Google maps will have all the train and bus schedules you need. They have four private onsens and a public bath. It wasn’t crowded when I came so I had the facilities pretty much to myself. Great base to explore the Kawazu Seven Waterfalls and the trailhead to get there (18.5 km one way - google odoriko trail) starts right outside the hotel.
