The landscape is super cozy, highly suitable for those who want to really have a good break from the hustle and bustle of city life, resting ones mind in an uninterrupted environment. Let's not forget the lady owner taking care of the place, who is so accommodating and helpful. And let's not forget the hot fresh milk provided every evening, which gives another level of warmness to the stay. Notes: if you are here on a Friday, you are of luck. The farmers market held weekly on Friday is just a few minutes walk away from this guesthouse too!

👉This is an ancient house of the Bach ethnic group, about 200 years old, renovated and put into business. The house is located in the heart of Sa Khe ancient town, less than 100 meters from the ancient stage and the Yujin stone bridge, surrounded by cafes, restaurants, handicraft shops... The front of the hotel is for renting and selling costumes, inside is a quiet yard and covered with stone lotus flowers, the space is very airy and quiet. I booked a room on the 2nd floor, the room is small, pretty and clean, fully equipped, with a small yard in front of the door, in the morning you can sip a cup of tea to welcome the early morning sun, at night you can sit and eat fried mushrooms and sip a cup of local plum wine, a true feeling of rest. The hotel has a separate kitchen and laundry room for guests, if you want you can cook and do laundry here. 👉The hotel owner is an elderly and extremely funny person. I went for many days so I brought quite a lot of luggage. However, the owner was very happy to help me carry my luggage from the town gate to my room. (Vehicles are not allowed in the old town, so the owner helped me push my luggage from the gate. All the roads in the town are paved with stone, so you can't pull your luggage and need a special cart. So if you book a room here, contact the owner before coming for help). 👉The price of the room I booked on the 2nd floor was about 1 million VND/night, and I was completely satisfied with this price with all the emotions it brought. I only stayed for 2 nights, but the owner was extremely enthusiastic from the first day to the last day, helping me book a car back to Lijiang, and even giving me a souvenir with the promise that even if I brought more luggage next time, he would still happily welcome me. 🤣🤣 👉Sa Khe ancient town is one of the extremely well-preserved ancient sites in Yunnan province. If Lijiang is likened to a fairy with a splendid and proud beauty, then Sa Khe is a quiet and fragile beauty in the wind. Coming here, you will naturally feel life slow down, allowing yourself to be a little lazy, a little gentle with yourself. If I have the chance, I will definitely stay in Sa Khe longer!

To start with, Shaxi is such a precious jewel. The historic preservation collaboration between ETH and Chinese scholars and the locals is impressive. The harmony formed by the nature and the man-made environment is incredible. We wish we had more time to stay and dive deeper. And we absolutely loved our stay at the Flower Inn. It’s really close to the core of the town yet very quiet and peaceful. The garden is meticulously cared for. The most special is an impressive 2-story library housing the owners’ personal book collections. They recently opened the library to the community a few days a week - a generous way to share knowledge and wisdom, and bring the community closer together. The owners are very warm, interested in making friends and sharing their experience. I really enjoyed an evening chat with them and listening to the stories about the town’s history, preservation, local lifestyles and much more. We would love to come back to Shaxi in the future and stay at the Flower Inn again.

My favorite place during this self-driving tour in Yunnan is Shaxi Ancient Town. It is quieter than Dali. Most tourists travel during the day. Shaxi is still very comfortable at night, so I stayed in Shaxi for 4 days and chose Fanghe Inn to experience Traditional wooden houses. The inn is not located on the main street. The street is relatively narrow, not crowded and quiet. There is no charge for self-driving parking, but please note that you need to contact the landlord in advance to confirm the parking location. The inn is a quadrangle with two floors. There are not many rooms. There are no screen windows or air conditioning in the room. If you mind, be careful. When we went, the weather was very cool and we had to cover ourselves with quilts at night. There were mosquitoes, but not many. The room came with mosquito repellent and mosquito coils. Shaxi is relatively humid on rainy days, as is the interior of the room. Prices are not low during peak periods, and the overall value for money is average. However, the owner of the B&B has a very good service attitude. The children like to eat sandwiches, and they have extra breakfast for the children. The burgers at the restaurant next door were also delicious. I ate them twice in four days.

The small courtyard is in a good location. In the ancient city, it is an old house remodeled. It is very peaceful. The bedding is comfortable and quality. The living is very comfortable. In the morning, the beautiful proprietress also made rice noodles, which is not bad. Close to Wangji jelly, Wangji jelly snacks are very good. We were eating when the boss was eating, saying that he got up at 4 am every day to make chicken bean jelly, and sold out in the afternoon. He also told us that the soup of rice noodles should be drunk. It was made of big bones. His hand cut rice noodles, wontons, beef patties, and thin bean noodles are all delicious.

The room type I chose was the cheapest, but it didn't affect the experience of staying there at all. Outside the window was a sea of ​​holly flowers, and because it was on the edge of the ancient town, the view was wide open. The car couldn't reach the ancient town, so I had to carry my luggage myself, so I felt it was better to stay at the edge (not compared to the shops in the town that charge over a thousand for room). It's within ten minutes from the ancient theater and Yujin Bridge. The moderate distance gives you a wide view and cost-effective supporting services. It's a pity that I only stayed there for one night. Don't just stay in the ancient town, go to the Pioneer Bookstore on the other side of the river and the He Family Garden. They are both very good, but the Mid-Levels Coffee is a bit mercenary, and it's annoying even if there are succulents all over the house... By the way, there's also a very stylish place to eat pizza and drink wine, it seems to be called Chun Twelve, it's very close to where I live, and the boss is an interesting ******* guy...

The room is clean, but small. The hot water is unstable. Sometimes the bath water is no longer hot at night. The sound insulation is not good. The boss on the first floor outside the guest room has a singer (who can’t sing well) and it is noisy until 10 or 11 o’clock. We originally booked three nights, but the last night I was worried that I wouldn't be able to catch the return train to Dali Station in the morning, so I applied for a one-night refund but the boss wouldn't give it to me, which was inhumane. I can’t say that you are unreasonable, I can only say that it is inhumane. I will not choose this hotel again next time. There are so many hotels and there are definitely more choices at the same price.

During the New Year's Eve trip, I had the warmth of the Nine-Seven Date Inn. I felt comfortable and the value sentiment reached 100 points. The room was comfortable and the location was excellent.
