Kissho Yamanaka is located in Yamanaka onsen town, a 20 minute drive from the Kaga train station. Kissho Yamanaka is a perfect place to stop by for a night or two if you're en route from the rich traditional cities of Kyoto to Kanazawa.

When I was looking for a hot spring resort that was easy to get to from Kanazawa Station, I found out that I could get there by direct bus at a reasonable price, and visited Yamanaka Onsen. The hot water was good and the inn here was comfortable, so I will visit again. Please note that if you use the bus, it is a little far from the bus stop. However, if you stroll around town slowly, you will arrive in less than 10 minutes. This inn has a homey atmosphere with the employees working hard. In particular, there were several people who helped me during the evening and breakfast that I will never forget. .. Some people may think that it is something different when they imagine sophisticated hospitality like a super luxury ryokan, but I think that ryokan's selling point is human hospitality. For those who want to raise the grade, Kissho Yamanaka may be better. By the way, the hot springs are hot and the open-air bath is just right even in winter. The women's bath has an open-air bath and an open-air bath. The open-air bath is a little deep, so it may be dangerous for small children to enter. There are two private baths. Change in 45 minutes. It’s a hidden gem in Yamanaka Onsen area. Staffs at front desk were all very helpful and friendly. Same as staffs at the restaurant who were the BEST that we have met during our trip this time. They are genuine and amicable, made our stay more enjoyable. The outdoor onsen was good, as well as the little activities for guests to play. Close to the river where we can enjoy the nature as well.

This is the first time to seriously review a hotel, because the experience of staying is really good. The hotel provides pick-up and drop-off from JR station to the hotel, because it was a temporary decision to stay at Kaga Onsen for one night. I called the hotel before boarding the train. The breakfast was a Japanese buffet. There were not many varieties but the quality was good. There are indoor and outdoor hot springs, and private baths can be reserved for 3,000 yen for 50 minutes and 5,000 yen for 100 minutes. Private baths have two indoor and outdoor pools, which are absolutely great value. When leaving, the staff will wave goodbye until the car disappears at the gate. The whole check-in process makes people feel warm, caring and just right, it is highly recommended!

This hotel was incredible! You are welcomed like royalty with a tea ceremony while looking out onto the beautiful garden. The rooms are huge and are simply incredible. There are two public onsens, one for each gender and if you want a private Onsen you can book that too. We are nearby in several really nice izakiyas which were fantastic. The younger staff, as well as the owner and his daughter speak English and one of the receptionists is Chinese. I can not recommend this place highly enough. If you want a really traditional ryokan and a relaxing stay just book this hotel. It is truly amazing!

In response to the request of the family of ”Nearby hot springs”, we used it for the first time in several years. We prepared a large room in Matsukaze domain and relaxed. One berth and two meals are ”going to eat”. The restaurant is first-class decoration. Although the waiter is older, it can be communicated in simple English, and it is very enthusiastic. Considerate. The large bath on the top floor of the main building can see the stars, very beautiful. The open-air windy guest room and villa also have a dedicated windy, the interior decoration is very new, there are massage chairs. In the evening, there are stalls in the hotel lobby for guests to play. The hotel has a lobby for guests to rest, free coffee, tea, etc. There are also hot spring eggs for guests to enjoy. Overall, although the hotel price is not cheap, but the service and environment are really good.
