The view was amazing. If you wish to enjoy the beautiful forest view, I strongly recommend the hotel. They don’t have toothbrushes or comb. You need to have them yourself, but this is standard in Sri Lanka. The manager was super kind and helped to plan my journey.

The hotel is set in a beautiful location, but lets just say that there are some “hidden charges” that one should know about before deciding to stay here. Upon requesting the front desks help to arrange transportation for a wedding that I was in Kandy to attend, the receptionist said that he would look in to it, and get back to me. When I returned later that evening to see if he had any updates for me, I was told that he found someone who could take me. When I asked the receptionist to let me know how much it would be, he gave me what I believe to be a fabricated story about how he had instructed the driver to let the guest pay him whatever the guest felt was fair, seeing as the wedding was at the hotel next door, which was only 550 meters away. He then added that the driver had not agreed to that arrangement, & that the driver would tell the guest how much the fare was after arriving. Upon arriving to the wedding hotel, the driver asked that I pay 2,500 rupees, which was more than 4.5 times more than what apps like PickMe quoted for the same trip. Due to this reason, let this serve as fair warning that if you plan to stay at this maggot infested hotel that I too can attest to as other reviews have mentioned, remember to factor in my insights. My experiences align with why staff told me that I was the only guest that they had during my entire stay, & why the one other foreigner who had made reservations during the same time frame, was a no show in the end. According to locals, 1,500 of the 2,500 probably went to the driver & the owner of the car, & the remaining 1,000 most likely went to the receptionists pocket.

The hotel is very far up the hills so a bit tricky to get to, but the view is spectacular! Large room, comfy beds and hot water in the shower (bring shampoo etc.). The staff is only three people so don’t expect usual service during the day. We missed mattresses on the sunbeds and access to coffee maker and snacks to buy. But friendly staff and the manager is a huge Abba fan!

Hearty breakfast Welcome: we seemed to be disturbed on arrival. Leaky and non-existent staff. Does not offer towels for the pool, even though there were some (superb view from our room of the drying racks. Dirty room, stained bed base, no mattress protector. Dinner to order, dollar menu. $4 a small bowl of soup 😭 Very far from everything. I strongly advise against it.

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights at the end of our 2 week trip to Sri Lanka and it was the perfect end to the holiday. The hotel itself is a 10 minute drive out of Kandy (very cheap and easy by tuk tuk) and I would say this is the best part, as you can enjoy the breathtaking views of Kandy, without staying in the hustle of the centre (it’s loud and busy). The views are beautiful, and it’s the most amazing spot to catch the sunset. The pool is also a total treat. You are surrounded by nature, so you can watch the eagles whilst you swim. We loved our room it was clean, the bed was huge and very soft and we had a great view from our balcony. The breakfast was lovely and we loved the presentation of the fresh fruit everyday! Our highlight of this hotel was the lovely staff. Particularly Chaminda the manager. On our last day he offered to walk us to the nearby forest Monestary, and we also stopped in to look around the Mountbatten bungalow on our way back. It was lovely to speak to him about his life in Sri Lanka, and we learnt a lot from him about this beautiful country! It’s a shame to see negative comments on here about this hotel, as that was not the experience we had. If you are looking for somewhere peaceful, clean and friendly, I would highly recommend this for your stay in Kandy!

Dilapidated hotel with rotten electrical system. The lack of light here is the norm; not only are the light bulbs not screwed in everywhere, but the hotel staff turned their attempts to fix it into a short circuit. Which they couldn’t fix and ruined my whole day. Since I was forced to sit in the room like a security guard and wait until they tried to fix it. By the way, if there is no electricity, there is no Internet, no air conditioning, no light! In this country it is impossible to sleep at night without air conditioning or at least a fan. I asked for a refund for the ruined last day - they refused. And after I left, they closed my booking on Booking, allegedly I was not in their almshouse at all. Their behavior says a lot. Disgusting attitude towards guests. Don't waste your time and money on this place!

The worst experience in our 3weeks tour. They didn't want to check in us because they are full, but we had reservation. After a long discuss we got a room which is not clean and there were insects, geccos and cockroaches. They asked prepayment so we didn't received the amount when we checked out earlier when we planned. There weren't hospitality there wasn't clean, it is humiliaton of sri lanka and its hospitality.
