Сегодня прибыли в Канди, с балкона нашего номера в отеле Sweet Villa открывается совершенно магический вид на этот город. Словно заколдованный, уже час сижу на стуле рассматривая причудливые строения, которыми усеяны горы, погружаюсь в глубину медленно проплывающих грозовых облаков и впитываю сочность красок ближайшего леса. Днем над долиной, что раскинулась между двух горных хребтов, ланкийцы запускают воздушных змеев, что значительно усиливает ее театральное влияние. Хозяин дома Рантика просил не оставлять надолго пищу на балконном столике без присмотра - из джунглей полакомиться часто наведывается стая обезьян. Испытывая на себе все возрастающее недовольство хозяев гостевых домов, монахи продолжают зачитывать молитвы ранним утром, а чтобы максимально донести их до всех верующих, они используют мощные громкоговорители. Всем путешественникам при заселении выдаются беруши. Следуя любопытству, попробовал их не использовать. Ровно в 5 утра начинается ритмичный бой в барабаны, затем в течении полутора часов, следует чтение молитв в унисон несколькими голосами. Спать категорически невозможно. Как много событий, как много жизни в этой долине. Пожалуй, преодолею себя и схожу за бутылочкой Мерло, чтобы вернуться назад и уже не отвлекаясь следить за происходящим.
