The bed was comfy. The view was amazing. The staff were very friendly. The location is very close to downtown but up a hill so very very quiet. The food is good, EXCEPT the mutton biryani. Don't order the Mutton Biryani it was just tough fatty meat that you couldn't chew unless you want to feel like you're chewing on an old piece of gum.

Lovely view and soft, comfortable beds to sleep in for the night. The single, only problem I had was the waiter at the restaurant kept asking me, “are you okay, is everything good?” literally every 2 minutes. After saying “yes, thank you” multiple times, he stands there and starts a conversation, and once, just stands there and looks at me. The only thing I want to do is eat my food in peace. Lastly, after the only thing he brought me was a cappuccino (as it was a buffet so I fetch my own food), I gave a 1000 lkr tip. He was visibly upset with this and his over-friendliness completely disappeared. I didn’t dare to go back to the restaurant after this. Food was good, however!

The hotel itself and its facilities are fantastic. The rooms are nice and the food is absolutely superb. Unfortunately the service in the restaurant was really poor, which made this stay absolutely unpleasant. We were given dirty table cloths (and they didn’t want to replace it after asking for it), our table was given to someone else while we were at the buffet, we had to order drinks several times until finally served, we were given the bill to sign while still eating the main dish (not even dessert) and actually wanted to order more drinks, after being seated, we had to wait min 10 min to place orders for drinks or get silverware etc. From a 5* hotel we definitely expected something better. This is the only hotel during our trip, where we experienced bad service. which is a pity, as otherwise the hotel is really nice. We would not book it again.

Hotel Suisse carries a colonial charm that takes you back in time. The food is good, offering a fair range of choices. However, the dining experience was slightly marred by some worn napkins. The air conditioning in our room was a bit loud, but it didn't keep us from having a comfortable stay. I might look into other hotels in the area next time to experience something different.

I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to the entire Tree of Life team for the exceptional support and wonderful service provided. Our team is extremely happy with the experience, and we were particularly impressed by the top-notch food. Hats off to Chef Debahaduwa, who went above and beyond to ensure our comfort with his mouth-watering dishes. The old five-star hotel is located on the Mahaweli River, the mother river of Sri Lanka. It is a must-have hotel for Kandy people to get married. The British service standard is very good. Compared with other Sri Lankan hotels, the check-in and check-out are very fast. The software service makes up for the old facilities deficiencies, it is recommended

The hotel seemed nice but would be unsuitable for disabled people as there are a lot of steps and path are quite hilly. Also the light in the bathroom could not be turned off. The sheets themselves were ripped and torn or holes made by moth. Not sure which and finally the rooms were never cleaned before 5 pm which was frustrating as we would come back from a day out and the room still hadn’t been done. The last day we told them to just leave it

The rooms are beautifully set apart and are spacious and extremely stylish. They are immaculately clean and every detail has been thought of! The restaurant area is lovely for an early evening drink and the food was amazing. The staff are attentive and warm & friendly. Nothing was too much trouble!

We arrived in the beautifu island on a nature holiday and stayed in two hotels. Our stay in candy city was in devon. The welcome was beautiful with dancing men and drums music ... Mans were pkaying acrobatic to welcome and receive was amazing .... Oil with kamp was there to light at lobby where for good luck sign... We visited TEMPLE of Buddha with white Dress.and very near to the hotel ( 10 minutes ) After we came and dinner was at hotel . Tasty asia and lanka food was served with smilling good staff. Service was very friendly and always ready to help ... Lady at the front and young boy was asking if any help was super to a hotel to have for vistors room is very big and wonderful . Always ready to help Guide was very helpful . Best hotel so far we stayed in our visit in tour Like to come again and will reccomond tourist to book this hotel Demon
