Tolle komfortable, saubere Zimmer und eine gepflegte Anlage mit tollem Ausblick. Das Personal war super freundlich, vor allem Mariam und Willi haben sich toll um uns gekümmert. Wir können es wärmstens empfehlen die Unterkunft bei der Safari zu buchen, sonst gibt es in der Umgebung eher nicht viel. Auch das Essen war sehr gut und frisch. Toll war auch, dass uns abends eine Wärmflasche ins Bett gelegt wurde, da es abends doch etwas frischer ist.

Selten ist man so warmherzig begrüßt worden wie hier. Man hatte immer das Gefühl, dass man sich hier über die Gäste freut und so ist man auch behandelt worden. Wir hatten eine ganz tolle Zeit zwischen den großen Nationalparks Tarrangiere und Ngorogoro/Serengeti. Bei schönem Wetter und wenn es noch hell ist dann kann man draußen am Pool die Zeit verbringen und den einzelnen einfach gehaltenen Loungen entspannen. Die Zelte sind gut eingerichtet und sauber. Das Essen war super und der Service echt klasse.

It was such a good stay, they were waiting for us when we arrived with a clean towel to wash your hands and some drinks. Very friendly people and the food was 12/10. So good!!!!! The dining area is so cozy. I would definetly recommend a second stay in this place.

Unexpected Paradise in Harsh Arusha.
This place was a special place for us. The team at Karatu really were special who did out of their way to provide for us when there were issues, and when the first room seemed to have issues (shower drainage, bee hive on the roof, urine smell) they quickly changed the room to a better closer room, and always were helpful in arranging or finding different solutions for transportation issues etc. The place is located 2 hours from Arusha, and around 30 mins from the main gate for Ngorongoro crater. It's right by the main road, so it's not hard to be dropped off or be picked up. However it has no main signage outside so it can be missed when arriving at night. The staff were really welcoming even though we arrived past 2100 the first night. The assistant manager Nassary and staff Christina were really the stars of the show for us. From our entire 2 weeks Kenya-Tanzania-Zanzibar trip, Karatu stands out from a peaceful quiet place we still talk about. The food isn't stellar, and the quality isn't anything to write home about, but they provide basic necessities and do make sure that you get your lunch boxes (even providing for drivers etc). and breakfasts if you leave early for a tour etc. There are equipment issues, the tent window velcro is old so some rooms will have issues of completely seal, or the shower booth is placed on wooden planks, making drainage hard. However, for the price. The place is a steal. Safari beer and liquor is cheap here (USD 3) compared to other hotels!

Très bel accueil, chaleureux. Excellente cuisine. Bel endroit, sensible à l écologie. On recommande Mawe Lodge, on a beaucoup apprécié, notamment les enfants avec la piscine et les nombreux oiseaux à observer. Les tentes sont très confortables, propres. Merci

Amazing staffa and a beautiful stay. A special place with 10 cabines. All very comfy and clean with a amazing view. The beds are really comfy and the rainshower is great! Also the pool and sun area is really nice. The food was also really good. Asante Sana!

Superbe Lodge, bien situé pas trop loin de certains parcs. Le personnel au top et très accueillant, petit déjeuner et dîner était fantastique. La chambre était au top et très propre. Nous avons passé un superbe séjour, merci à toute l’équipe !
