Great venue to use as a base for Chobe National Parks. Good food and friendly service. We had a medical incident with our party and the hotel staff couldn’t have been more helpful. Good views of the river and a beautiful room with a huge bath! Only negative was the refurb that was going on meant one part of the hotel was shut and that included the main pool. We only had one small pool to use.

Lots to do here! An activity office will quickly fill your day and your dreams! Boat cruises , land safaris. We found the smaller boat cruise was much better, they were able to bring the boat right up to the banks of the river giving you best photo opps! Ask for boat operator "Ian", he gave us an incredible boat cruise never to forget! The smaller boats are very stable and would recommend this type of wildlife cruise, we saw the bigger boats packed shoulder to shoulder and here we were comfortably getting the best viewing chances right up where the bigger boats can't get to! Land safaris were awesome, densest population of Elephants, we even spotted a Leopard in the tree, on the way out, so keep your eyes on the trees! All big Five were spotted on our tour!

We spent three weeks in Africa and traveled to a number of outstanding places and had unique experiences at every place, and this was no exception. Chobe Safari Lodge was lovely and extremely comfortable, with kind and helpful staff. Our spacious Safari room was on the second floor and was perfect to enjoy the sights, sounds and wildlife. We took two sunset river cruises, one in a larger boat and one smaller: this is a must-do activity, only sorry we didn’t also book a morning cruise. Morning game drive was amazing and the guide was extremely knowledgeable. The Lodge is just a short drive from Kasane International Airport, and the town just a few minute’s walk from the lodge offers a large market including a small pharmacy, and a number of other conveniences. If you’re looking to see a large variety and number of wildlife from a gorgeous setting with all the comforts of home, look no further. Lots to do here plus a variety of nice places to eat, including a lovely place right on the water. During our travels we also stayed at a few remote lodges (glamping) deep in the bush that we loved, but it was also fun and relaxing to enjoy a little luxury while still being surrounded by wildlife and beauty. For good reason, this is a popular place: expect a lot of people, compared to being in a remote lodge. However, in our opinion, it did not diminish the experience whatsoever.

We arrived at Chobe only to find the Safari Lodge was closed for redecorating. Not something we had been informed about in advance (our tour operator is looking into this and have offered a voucher). This meant that the other lodge appeared over crowded which in our opinion put some of the staff under pressure. They did their best under somewhat trying circumstances, so can’t fault the people. The food was very good and we ate in both restaurants. The river safaris in the afternoon were a delight. Mainly because of the animals but equally because of Issac, our river Captain, whose enthusiasm and knowledge made it such an enjoyable trip. The on board bar service was also great. The jetty wasn’t too far from our room and took no longer than 3/4 minutes to walk. The riverside bar is well worth a visit if you have time, but try to secure the correct table for the best sundowner. Our Riverside room, albeit slightly obscured from the river by foliage was lovely with a very comfortable bed, lovely shower and lovely balcony. The housekeeping was excellent. Plenty of interesting items in the gift shop to peruse and we ended up with some Botswana tee shirts which provide a lovely reminder of our stay. So in summary, a lovely venue only slightly tarnished by the unknown lodge closure and overcrowding in the open lodge. People there are super helpful though.

Our second visit. We spent 5 glorious nights in a Safari Room overlooking the river. We were concerned about the renovations of the restaurant/reception/pool area but it was fenced off, not visible and no noise. Using the facilities of their sister hotel, just a few steps away was good. Restaurant and meals all excellent. All the staff very friendly and helpful. Had 6 incredible game drives, lots of lions, elephants, antelope, birds, crocs, monkeys and even a leopard. Also did the sundowner on the river to see the rhinos and elephants crossing. Cannot wait to go back ! Thank you.

We love Chobe National Park and the boat cruises and full day game drive provided by the Chobe Safari Lodge. The other game drives were crowded and less desirable. I highly suggest they offer game drives limited to 6 people so everyone can have a window seat. Our Safari Room was lovely with a nice view of the river. Service improvements are needed for the reception and housekeeping as we could not get change to give our game drive guide tips nor were they offered help to get tips to the guide such as charging on our credit card and giving the charged tips to the guide. Our towels were taken and not replaced leaving with no ability to shower. We called housekeeping and were told that they were being washed and would be returned when done at night suggesting that you only get a single set of towels for use during your stay - never heard of this reasoning before. The towels were not returned until I call, again late at night.

After 3 weeks of private lodges with only a handful of of guest we were shocked at how touristy this place is. 100’s of people in dozens of vehicles/boats vying for the best view of the wildlife. The best meal we found was a toasted sandwich and in the evening dine in the main dining hall the food was very good. The room we had was very basic yet clean and comfortable … could do with better bathroom products…

This was, from start to finish, an amazing stay. The staff are very friendly and highly knowledgeable. The lodge is phenomenal: clean, excellent food, and with all the amenities you could need. The game drives are brilliant, as is the boat cruise and the trip to Victoria Falls. Don’t look anywhere else. You won’t regret going here!

Chobe Game Lodge did not disappoint! Perfect location to see a variety of animals. The staff was terrific and the rooms were perfect. Fifi was a terrific game spotter on both land & water. Really liked the quite electric vehicles. Thank you all for a fabulous visit!
