We had booked a suite and a room and wanted to have a bed for the baby, guess in which accommodation we found the small bed? In the double room, of course, despite the huge surface available in the suite; this is not invented. We had booked a night to be stayed and fed after 500 km of motorway. The guardian actively welcomed this evening then told us that the rest was closed and there were different hostels nearby. The hotel was very comfortable and was very comfortable. This hotel complex is in fact a spatial campus in the neobauhaus architecture of 2018: the spatial rooms with the dominant grey, white and brown are very well equipped but the minibar is absent and mineral water will be bored. Das Hotel hat unsere Erwartungen voll übertroffen. Saubere und komfortable Zimmer, aussergewöhnlich freundliches und zugewandtes Servicepersonal (die Leute hätten sechs statt fünf Sterne verdient). Das Frühstück war zwar nicht überbordend, aber es war reichhaltig und qualitativ wirklich gut. Das Restaurant bietet bodenständige, gut gemachte Speisen (Burger, Schnitzel, Pasta) zu einem moderaten Preis. Toll: die Hunde-Leckerli-Bar am Eingang (inklusive Tüten für das ”Geschäft”) und generell das Willkommensgefühl mit Vierbeiner dabei (das haben wir auch schon ganz anders erlebt). Ebenfalls toll: in der Lobby gibt es ganztägig Kaffeespezialitäten, Tee, Wasser und Obst für die Hotelgäste - als Service des Hauses. Das hatten wir so auch noch nicht und waren entsprechend begeistert. Baunatal selber ist naja, aber die Hotellage ist gut - direkt in der Innenstadt und mit kurzen Fahrtzeiten nach Kassel, zum Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe oder zum Edersee. Mini-Kritik: die Zimmerreinigung war etwas nachlässig, was aber den insgesamt hervorragenden Eindruck nicht geschmälert hat.

We stayed at this hotel 5 years ago, funky old building (the outlook east), but all the amenities: good bed, large room, great lobby, evening snack included, even a pool table. Well it's all gone, the mattress is beat, the bed frame makes noise, the room full of dust. I ended up putting the mattress on the floor and choked all night. They removed the frig from the rooms. There is no air conditioning, the street noise is serious. They have closed the lobby, no more evening snack, no place to hang out. The breakfast that was once ample and very good is now white bread, corn flakes and dried out scrambled eggs. The reception people are nice but no help, they struggle with any language other than German. $200 a night for what amounts to a dump. Avoid this place you can find better in Kassel for less than half the price.

The hotel is in the middle of Kassel (Köningsplatz) and 10 minutes walk to the Documenta fifteen centre ruruHaus , Fridericianum museum and Documenta halle. Trams and busses nearby to all places. Friendly personal. The breakfast room was large and the breakfast buffet was very well a good start for exploring Kassel with all sort of bread, serials, fruit, drinks, coffee and sprudel wasser. My room was in the new part of the hotel. It had everything one can expect and – as an elderly person – i liked to have a shower. So that I do not have to climb into a bath to take a shower. I liked it also very much that I could dim the lights in the room and bathroom. And also that I could open the doors to the French balcony to let the fresh air in. Diner tip Go to ”al fiume”, italian restaurant at the Fulda. Excellent Italian food.

I stayed in one of the suites on June 5th through 7th. Sadly the room was not ready by the time of arrival, not at 3pm and only around 4 pm did I gain access. After a long day on the road that is not what one was hoping for and the silly excuses or the complementary drink did not help one bit. The hotel is a wonderfully restored old Burg with interesting art and furniture which makes for an eclectic, but winning mix. There is an impressive looking old style restaurant, an attraktive center bar with neat sitting and an open fire place and a spacious outdoor terrace. Some parking is in front of the door. The suite was carefully restored leaving many of the beautiful original elements with touches of the new. However when entering there was sweltering heat and a strong smell of sewage permeating through all the rooms. The first flaw, no air conditioning. If the heat is unbearable on a June day what about the middle of the summer? That puzzled me. The smell originated probably from the free standing bathtub trap which, rarely used, most likely did not seal properly. The sink in the bathroom although stylish was impractical as there literally was no space to put anything needed down. One had to spread out the toiletries all over the bathroom. Very inconvenient. Other than that shower and furnishings were of good quality and gave the suite a nice appearance. The bedroom was in style and bed and mattress were conducive to a good night sleep (thankfully the heat dissipated with an open window but in exchange allowed for street noise). The complementary breakfast was generous and offered many choices. The staff in general proved competent and pleasant. Over all this could have been a wonderful experience if the a/c, smell and room readyness would be improved

Friendly staff. nice, friendly room. The best is the comfortable mattress. Also the headbits super. The first hotel for a long time when I was standing up without back pain and tough neck. TV with many programmes. Continental breakfast buffet. Drink and snack machine. Automatic for coffee and supper. Afterwards quiet room. Apart from Hercules, beautiful morning and evening sky. I asked where to buy this wonderful mattress, unfortunately I didn't get a answer to my mail.
