Kathmandu Hotels with Pools

We spent wonderful time during our stay at hotel Shankar through trip.com booking 🤗

This is my second time in Kathmandu and the fourth hotel I have stayed at. Everything in the room is up to Marriott standards: the bed, the bathroom, everything was great. However, the ventilation at the buffet breakfast is really bad, after our breakfast I smelled like I worked at the kitchen all day. I ordered room service once; their momo is the worst momo anyone could find in Nepal. It is overcooked and wrongly seasoned, and the dumpling wrapper was broken and overpriced. Luckily the hotel staffs recommended another momo place that is 3 minutes walk from the Marriott, at least I got some good momos before leaving this beautiful city. I still cannot believe I spent that much on a hotel in this city. There are many nice hotels in the city with good service and cleanliness at a more affordable price. I would recommend this place if you have high standards of living and hygiene and do not expect any cultural things. Basically, you won't feel like you are in Nepal when you are inside the hotel.

Relatively standard five-star hotel, no special features, much worse than Dwarika, the same price will be much lower; stayed here for two nights, moved to Dwarika for one night, the difference is not the same Small.

The hotel facilities are relatively complete, with a separate large garden, gym, swimming pool, small shops selling things, and good Chinese restaurants to choose from. It is indeed a good choice if you go to Kathmandu for the first time. The location is not in the tourist area, but it is more convenient for the hotel to call a car.

Service: All the staff are very friendly and enthusiastic! This is a level that many five-star hotels in China cannot reach! Facilities: The lobby and restaurant are very beautiful ~ the room facilities are about the same as those of the All Seasons. The view outside the window is great (see video). Breakfast: It is quite rich, but it is all South Asian style. It would be great if some Chinese food could be added. The last feature is Butter milk, you must try it.

The hotel facilities and sanitation are very good. The service is very enthusiastic. The hotel also gave away free breakfast. The hotel's breakfast buffet has many varieties and tastes very good. Love it 😍

Nice Old Hotel, Great Staff with few needs to improve. Swimming pool is totally disappointment. Better to shut down, than keep running and not swimmable, waist of energy. The water is dirty, no star at all. The lobby, the room and Ghurka bar are still great. 2 power shutdowns in 1 day, I believe they are struggling with power shortages due to dark lounges. Breakfast was so so, coffee or tea should be not a challenge to serve first, sometimes took half of meal before they come. Many Tables are not stable and aligned, egg can easily roll over to other side. Atleast 3 tables on my experience. Room is comfortable, nice bed and always fresh linen. Only noisy from AC , maintenance team came twice on my room to fix, though transfer was offered on my last 2 days. Managers should not standing in buffet line, either they should help the line staffs or directing the team, talking business in public is not of our guests concern. Front desk Trainee, has good presence, I thought first he is manager. A lot can be improved and polished, the hotel has a great potential, nice design, great facilities and great staffs. I wish that management should look all themselves and review those small details.

We knew the service would be good as soon as we booked, and within hours we received a welcome email, listing the ways we could contact them if we needed to. On the pick up at the airport, they were speedy and efficient and the taxi ride only took us 20 minutes with traffic. As we walked through the door we were blown away by the interior decoration, only then to find that hotel had been a former palace! Historic artifacts and pictures were strewn through the hallways and the outside only matched the royal feel with perfection. We stayed in the royal suite, with a big bed and balcony. The staff were great, the breakfast was standard for off peak times and although the location isn't in the depth of Thamel, the area most will go out for eating and drinking, it was within 30 minutes drive of most landmarks and as it was the ambassedy/ office worker area, there was a nice vibe. There were some things that can't be controlled. The hotel did a good job of providing heat as the weather in February is still chilly. The pollution was real. Especially as you walk nearer the streets, something to think about if you are sensitive to this. Apart from that, It was all really wonderful. The location of the hotel is a bit remote. If you go out by taxi, you need help from the front desk to call a taxi. The room decoration is very new and the service staff are also very enthusiastic. The breakfast is average and you can eat enough.

New Hotel with Great Roof Top View, needs to improve. Room is nice, smells new, however bed sheet is completely new , itchy , it’s like just bought and not washed , direct to the bed or been there dusty for long time. Towel is dirty white, not convenient. Water is totally disappointed, Color yellow, un-filtered and smells. Need proper filtration. Massage, all is new, bed is sounding haha , no music , no aroma for 8k local currency, 1 hour, masseuse was good. Food some are great, some are tough. View is the best for this hotel, but they open only afternoon to 10.. if you are sunrise person , this hotel is not for you. Sun set was great. Staffs are friendly, however next visit should be more thoughtful on guiding guests, where is elevator, what are facilities and hotel can offer. Breakfast was fair, price is recommendable.
