Seth was a fantastic shuttle driver! He was so flexible when we changed our mind on where we were going. He’s friendly and kind and I felt so safe with him driving our especially our friend that is pregnant. He helped her and out of the van. It is such a great amenity to have the shuttle.

It's a relatively good local hotel. Because I was on a business trip, I had been staying here before the epidemic.
The overall environment is satisfactory and the hotel service is also very considerate. I will come back again after a few years.

Convenient location if you don’t mind walking a little bit, clean, and friendly service. The city view from our room was spectacular! We loved The Link, which is the glass walkway that goes directly from the hotel all the way to Union Station. Very convenient. Then you can hop right on the KC Streetcar, which is the free trolley that goes all the way up Main Street. We also enjoyed the outside pool located on a lower building’s roof. I wish the hotel offered water for the guests in the lobby or at least a convenient place to fill up water bottles.

Darrell (shuttle driver) was the highlight of the stay. He was very personable, energetic and made our whole party feel welcome. The front desk team coud take some notes on hospitality from Darrell. The hotel is centrally located but the building is a little dated.
An Art Deco masterpiece in the heart of downtown, the Hotel Phillips is a popular choice with guests who appreciate the charm and character of a grand and historic hotel. The hotel's address was once occupied by a haberdashery operated by President Harry S. Truman and his brother. Today, the hotel's top floor suite is named in his honor.
Built in the 1930's, this 20-story luxury hotel, a national landmark, continues to exude all the elegance of the period with modern amenities. Many of the original details remain, including the walnut paneling, intricate metalwork, 20-story mail chute, Art Deco light fixtures and a gilded winged statue of the goddess Dawn.
The 216 rooms are cozy, characteristic of a historic hotel, and comfortable, with modern amenities such as complimentary WiFi, multiple charging outlets, flat screen TVs, plump duvets, high-end linens, C.O Bigelow bath products and Keurig coffee.
The hotel's highly celebrated restaurant, Tavernonna Italian Kitchen, serves chef driven breakfast and dinner menus and happy hour, Sneak down to the 1930's inspired speakeasy bar, P.S., through the hidden entrance near the front desk for craft cocktails and small bites.
Additional amenities include a business center, room service, a 24-hour gym, massages available by appointment, and event space rental available by reservation with the sales team. Valet parking is available for a fee.
Right in the middle of downtown, Hotel Phillips is one block from the Power & Light District, eight lively blocks of restaurants, nightclubs and theaters, one block from the city's streetcar, and six blocks from the Sprint Center, ranked third in the US among sports arenas. The airport is 19 miles away.
More than just a hotel, the Hotel Phillips is an experience, a step back in time to a more gracious era. Everyone deserves that experience, if only for a night.

I was close to changing hotels prior to staying based on poor reviews, but decided because of the location we could deal with any issues that may have been unsatisfactory. Good thing we kept our reservations here as their wasn't anything unsatisfactory about the trip. The front desk team was very nice and quick to get more towels or anything needed. The Shower was amazing which consistently stayed hot and high water pressure for 4 of us to use back to back. The location is very convenient to all of the downtown activities. They have a shuffleboard table in the lobby that we played often. We went to the PS Speakeasy in the basement of the hotel that was nice. The Restaurant located on site was easy to get drinks at. Valet parking is $30-$35, but we self parked at the garage next door for $18 and easy to get to. The only comment I would make is I wish they had a pantry as we had $30 F&B credit per day, but did not get to use a days worth based on our flight schedule, it would have been nice to use it.
Anticipate enrichment at the Kansas City Marriott Downtown. Set in the vibrant downtown district, our hotel offers both modern and historic elements of Kansas City, MO. Parking in the underground parking lot is very convenient. Talk to the front desk when you check out. There is no charge when you leave the garage. The hotel lobby is not bad, the rooms are relatively old, but the hotels in the central cities of the United States are almost not old. The room was quite large, the air conditioning was very noisy, and when it didn't stop, the cold wind was blown for a while and the hot wind was blown for a while. I booked a room with breakfast, but at the end of the day breakfast was still charged separately, and I was drunk. The quality of reception staff at the reception varies, and there are a few female receptionists who come here for a while, business operations are unskilled, and their attitudes are very general.

I’ve now stayed at almost every 21C hotel (I haven’t been to Iowa). Gets an overall five stars with some stronger points and some weaker points. Strong: the artwork this time around was poignant, the thought provoking, and cohesive. The restaurant and restaurant staff were outstanding (The Savoy, reviewed separately). Their room service was awesome too. The beds at 21C have always been comfy and I like their toiletry products. Weaker: The front desk staff was a mixed bag. Generally helpful and nice, but I was received more coolly here than some other places. Housekeeping. I 1000% understand we are still struggling with COVID and the economy and labor issues. And I don’t know who had my room previously, but there were several small shards of glass in the seating area, there was a pair of underwear behind the couch (which I didn’t touch and left there), and I somehow found a pair of dried up old contact lenses on the bedspread. Please note, the room was generally clean and well appointed, but the three things I mentioned were pretty big things. Also, if we aren’t going to go back to having minibars (which I’m fine with), can we have mini fridges in the rooms? I get you’re trying to up-sell room service, but I would just like to be able to chill my water or have something cool to drink without asking for a (too small) bucket of ice. Would stay again. The positive far outweighs the negative. Tip: no valet parking, but there is a garage across the street that charges 10 bucks a night.

Outstanding
I stayed at the Loews in June 2024 for a conference. The conference facilities, including the catered food for breakfast and lunch, were top notch. The space, layout, and room for side conversations was good. I'd happily have a conference there again. As for the rooms, the double queen room I was in was great. The beds were comfortable, the linens clean, the pillows plentiful. The light hygiene for the room was a solid 98% and only thing missing is that the blackout curtains don't quite close all of the way. Nothing that the clamps from the hanger in the closet couldn't fix. The downstairs bar was well stocked, and slightly understaffed. Despite that, a good hangout for post conference discussions.
GGuest UserWe were so surprised! Very nice hotel, nicer than higher class brands we have stayed at lately! CLEAN, updated, good breakfast. CLOSE to Arena, convenience wins it out. Rooms were dark, bed not the most comfortable (but clean is what matters!), not much for seating. One desk chair, otherwise just the beds, small window but overall highly recommend! Staff very nice. I would recommend to the company, a luggage holder for the room. Yes there was a large closet, and a long counter/bench to set your luggage on, however there was nothing by the bathroom. We were traveling with our kids, so I had to keep my bag in the middle of the room, after getting out of the shower I had to walk into the room to get all my stuff. I thought if only I had something to put my luggage on right outside the bathroom. None of these ”complaints” would warrant losing a start though.
GGuest UserVery satisfied with the stay, the hotel has just been renovated, about 5-10 minutes walk from the union station, turn left from the station gate and turn left, you can see it from afar, very conspicuous. The front desk is on the 2nd floor. If the night arrives too late, you need to press the intercom outside the main entrance of the 1st floor to let the front desk open. A few front desks are very welcoming, not a super metropolis hotel is not the same. Breakfast is similar to other hotels, that is, many things need to be heated by themselves, which is very interesting. There is also a canteen at the front desk, and snacks are big. My room is equipped with a microwave and a large fridge. The windows in the room need to be opened before the main power switch of the door is opened. When I left, let the front desk help me find the rental, and the rental fee was reasonable, very good.
Overall I had a great stay at the Hampton. The location is excellent--walking distance to lots of restaurants, bars, coffee shops, breweries, etc. I was upgraded at check-in and had a king room with balcony on the top floor and the room and view were both really nice. I stored my bag at the reception and checked in very late after an event, and the person working the front desk was very helpful. My only complaint was that my room had very clearly not been vacuumed.
GGuest UserOverall the experience at the hotel was very good, however, check in was lengthy and I had another issue at checkout I'll explain later. There was only one lady at the front managing to check in a long line of people. I can only imagine that they are still short staffed after Covid times. I had checked in 24 hours prior and chosen a room on my phone app, but our room was not ready and was given another. No problem..just glad to get one after the wait. The lady was pleasant checking us in but never apologized for the wait or welcomed us as Diamond members. Room was small but overall clean. Would have liked to have a comfortable chair to sit in but not one in the room. Breakfast was a buffet and overall average/good. Now the part not so good...apparently Hilton is now giving credits for breakfasts for (Gold & Diamond levels). It's put into your account to be used to offset the amount you spent. The amount can be different depending on the hotel. In most cases you will end of paying more due to taxes. I find this offensive and in my case the bookkeeping got messed up and it ended up being added in rather than taken out. I had to end up calling the hotel on two occasions to get it worked out...but it did happen. I appreciated the help of JoAnn and Robert and the bookkeeping department. In addition when checking out, I received my statement, it only showed parking that was owed. I was assured that the breakfast & credits were already sorted out. That was not the case as I found out a day later. Because Hilton President did handle my situation quickly I gave a very good rating!
My stay was great ! The place was clean , staff was nice and helpful . They provided breakfast with the stay and it was hot food options which is always a plus !
GGuest UserVery nice hotel for a few nights in Kansas City. Location between the real city centre and the Country Club Plaza area is nice. Looking both destinations are reaching with a small half an hour walk. Free breakfast is also enough. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
CChristmasoncrestlineMy wife and I travel a ton for work and are used to having great hotel stays and not so great hotel stays. But this one was just downright unique...and not in a good way. We decided we'd take the kids to see the Chiefs vs. Broncos game in October. Checking in was easy and we enjoyed seeing all the red Chiefs gear that all the other guests were proudly displaying. We asked for and received an early check-in. Which was very helpful. This allowed us to drop off some bags to make more room for the tailgating supplies. The goal was to drive into town, drop our luggage off at the hotel, and hit Arrowhead's parking lot ASAP to get the tailgating started. This was our children's first game and we wanted to show them the whole fun experience. Walking into the room was odd, the only door in our ”two-bedroom suite” was the bathroom door. The bed in one room was arranged so the person lying in the other room's bed looked directly at one another. We quickly realized it was a good thing we all brought PJs as there is zero privacy in this room. If we were with another couple, this would have been really awkward and unacceptable. This is the first hotel we've stayed at that the room's walls were completely empty. No pictures, no fire escape path photo, no nothing. It was a little bizarre and not at all an impressive-looking room. When we got back from the game, that is when the nightmare began. First, there were no parking stalls available and we had to park off campus. You cannot tell if stalls are available until you are physically in the lot. Clearly, the other cars were also not aware there were no parking spaces so we all became stuck in a line in the lot. This went on for about 30 minutes until everyone could back out safely. Once we found an off-campus spot, we went into the room. Before leaving for the game, we turned the AC down to 68. When we arrived in the room it was 77. We learned the single AC/Heat vent is located in such a way that it bounces off the wall of the small cutout, a 4ft hallway, and does not circulate the air. So, we were already up for a hot night. Twenty minutes after we got into bed, around midnight, our neighbor began slamming their door and continued to do so for an hour. At 1 a.m. I spoke to him and told him to stop. He advised his door would not shut, and that he told the front desk, and they did not fix it. I tried to call the front desk but our room's phone did not work. So, I got fully dressed and walked down to the front desk I asked the front desk clerk to solve the problem. He said he would. Once upstairs, I again got ready for bed and then the door slamming started up again. At 1:30 a.m., I again got dressed and told them to stop slamming the door. They did for a short while. At 2 a.m., it started up again. I again got out of bed and tried the phone to call the front desk as I had forgotten it didn't work. I travel so much, that my muscle memory told me the phone would of course work. It didn't. So, I got ful
This property is the epitome of ”just OK.” The rooms are rather small but mostly functional (bad water pressure). Service is very friendly and they even offer comp cookies. But there are little things that suggest somewhat lax attention to details like dysfunctional elevator lights, same debris in the stairwells for three days, etc. On the plus side the parking is free, breakfast is OK and the location seems safe. It's not within walking distance of anything but is reasonably close to the Plaza and the Crown Center. Nothing to write home about but an exceptional budget option.
