We stayed this past weekend. The room was clean and beautifully decorated. The location was great right on the river. The only hold up was we bought a bottle of wine from the front desk that was bad. But it was fully refunded which we appreciated We can’t wait to come back.

The Yachtsman was perfect for our short getaway to southern Maine and definitely the best dog-friendly option south of Cape Elizabeth. The hotel is actually what I think most people would call a motel - a single story building with doors opening onto the parking lot, which we found to be very convenient. The rooms aren't super spacious, but they are roomy enough, the bed is reasonably comfortable, and the bathrooms are very well appointed. The best part of the room is actually the outdoor patio and private lawn area overlooking the cove. We sat in the comfy adirondack chairs for hours watching the shore birds and boats as the tide came in and out. Most of the staff was friendly and helpful and the only negative of the whole stay is the truly awful continental breakfast, which looked like it all came from Costco.

I usually write reviews that are positive but I am compelled to let people know about this experience due to the lack of service and management follow up, which is very surprising for the caliber of other Kennebunkport Resort Collection hotels, and could very well ruin a future guest stay. We made a last minute reservation for the night of 11/14/23 and were pleasantly surprised by the room, the location and the view. Unfortunately it all went downhill after that. After 4 pm there is no personnel at the resort until breakfast at 8:00 am the next morning and if complications arise you are to call or text a phone number to get assistance. During the night, our toilet suddenly stopped working and we were unable to flush, so looking for someone to fix this matter and waiting until 8am was most definitely problematic. No one was onsite! We were eventually offered the use of a bathroom in a different room after I pleaded the urgency of using a bathroom after waiting for so many hours! The young woman, the only staff on site, later said she had talked to her manager and wanted to offer us another free night to make up for the inconvenience of not having a bathroom and the resulting sub par experience. She said the manager would be contacting us before the end of the day. When the guest services manager Annastacia Opasinki did, her "free night" offer was coming back and paying the same price we had paid for the room. Which incidentally there are lower rates to be found online. This was a very disappointing experience and I would definitely consider staying at a fully staffed elsewhere before booking here again.

My wife and I stayed here last November and really enjoyed our stay so we returned same time this year. The room is nicely appointed. We enjoy sitting outside in the Adirondack chairs. I had the morning continental breakfast at the outside table and chair set overlooking the river.. Great proximity to Dock Square.. and a nice run to Walker’s Cove. Looking forward to returning next year.

The room was spotless and obviously recently renovated. We appreciated the refrigerator and Keurig coffee maker. The fake gas fireplace made the room very cozy. We enjoyed the view of the water and the outdoor seating & privacy between rooms. Will definitely consider a stay next year in warmer weather. The proximity to downtown Kennebunkport and nice sidewalks allowed us to enjoy the stroll to dinner and back.

Yes, the Yachtsman has been a gift to our lives. We are fortunate to have had a chance to spend 2 weeks at the Yachtsman again this year. We have been coming regularly since 9-11-2001, and we already look forward to staying again next fall. The rooms and the view are pristine, and the entire staff from the GM to housekeeping work hard to ensure you have an exceptional experience at the Yachtsman. You will be hard pressed to find accommodations like these, 50 feet off the water with an incredible view anywhere.

This hotel is perfection! The location is fantastic - close to Dick Square shops & restaurants. Incredibly clean. Well-appointed. Comfortable bed & pillows. Friendly staff. High end toiletries. Lovely decor. The best thing was stepping out our door to a semi-private patio overlooking the water. Could’ve sat jn those Adirondack chairs all weekend. Very peaceful! Will definitely be back!

Beautiful setting, right on the water. Although the room isn’t large…nice updated decor. We loved the outdoor Adirondack chairs overlooking the water! Very tranquil and very private, due to bushes separating rooms. Small, but first class, marble bathroom with perfect water pressure from the shower. The bed is very comfortable and the pillows were great. Very quiet night’s sleep. Only negative was the check in process…a little weird that we booked in person and had to go on line to save $20 (which we didn’t do). Highly recommend the hotel.
