Contempra Inn

This motel is special: I’m a motel fan and it is the first motel I’ve ever see that goes with an elevator! it gave me both a surprise and delight that I could easily carry my luggage to the second floor. You can tell the owner knows how to do business: it’s TV is even larger than the one I lived in downtown NOLA—and most important of all, the TV is working very well. Before switching to this motel, I lived in Aloft New Orleans Downtown for 3 nights, with nightly rate above $200, yet I felt quite inconvenient because Aloft lacked this and that. So really, amenities can be new or old, but the sense of the owner to invest in essentials to provide convenience does not necessarily mean that these things have to be “fancy” (but useless). While I wouldn’t say the level of cleanliness was also super—it was ok (though the blankets could have been nicer)—but overall in the world of motels, this one makes me feel that the owner does intend to offer you some needed service.

Perfect location and clean rooms. Good for Business Travelers in the city.

On July 4th 2024,me and my wife had a terrible experience with the man named (Stephen Lee) at the front desk.We made a reservation for a single room with a double bed for 6days two weeks before our arrival and we missed our first night because of delayed at the airport from New York but on getting here the next day Stephen got my ID and check my confirmation number and he paused for a while before he could reply me or say anything and the next minute he said since you miss your first night the single room with a double bed is no longer available and then he ask if I was alone and I said no and he ask me this after confirmation and that kind of make me suspect he was lying and not telling me the truth.Then I proceeded by asking him if there was a problem he later said the room is no longer available after he went to the back room to whisper on the phone with the manager whom he refuse to release her number to me,and after so many back and forth he said finally said we cannot offer you a room and we have been dealing with this hotel for almost 2years so that shows something is not adding from his conversation.I felt me and my wife are been discriminated against even though we was nice to this man and I don’t expect this type of behavior from someone who is put in charge of hospitality affairs.To make matter worse we had already paid for the number of days and yet we were cancelled on an holiday.

Nice budget property convenient to airport

First impressions mean a lot. I felt as if I was walking into a convenient store when I entered the lobby. Walmart style plastic tables with hand written notes. During check in I was given the remote control to the room. That was a first and thought that was odd. White entry door to my room was filthy. I wouldn’t even sit in the two office style looking chairs provided for the “dining” table because there was caked on dirt on them. I literally thought if I scratched them with my fingernails, I would have sticky, gummy, dirt under my nails. Refrigerator had dents all over it, and the microwave was bolted to the top of the refrigerator. White bed spread had stains all over it. The shower and water pressure was good. However, I felt the place was so dirty and neglected, it was hard to sleep. I felt after my shower, I was crawling into a dirty bed. I was scared to death I was going to wake up with some kind of rash or bites all over my body. I tossed and turned all night. I ended up calling LYFT to pick me up at 5:30 am for my 9:30 am flight just so I could get to someplace that at least felt clean. I have never been so relieved than to leave this hotel! Worst hotel I’ve ever been to.

Very friendly staff! Walked into my room and was amazed on how clean it was and smelled great! Will definitely stay here again!

Good clean place with excellent location

It was ok for 1 night.

Convenient to airport for very early morning flight. It was a cold March night and AC heat didn’t work unfortunately.
