I stayed at the Starlight Resort Hotel in early October, when resorts in Spain and Greece start to cool down, but Turkey still offers plenty of sunshine, making it the perfect spot for enjoying the last days of summer. The hotel itself is quite large, comprising two separate properties: Starlight Resort and Sunrise Resort. Both share a beautiful beach and expansive park, and you can freely move between the restaurants and bars at both hotels without any hassle. The beach is spacious and well-equipped with all the necessary facilities. Food and drinks are available throughout the day at convenient locations near the beach, and since it’s an all-inclusive resort, you can indulge as much as you like. The park, a real highlight of the resort, is vast and beautifully maintained. It was a pleasure to take long walks there after meals, and it’s one of the features that truly stands out. Service at the resort was top-notch. The front desk staff were attentive, and I had no issues during my stay. The rooms are generously sized and equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The only downside in the room was the small TV, which felt undersized for the space, though it wasn’t a major issue since I don’t tend to watch TV when I’m by the sea. However, there’s one major drawback that would stop me from returning to this resort: the food. Simply put, it was dreadful. It seemed like the resort had invested all its budget into maintaining the rooms and park but left little for the dining experience. The quality of the food was shockingly poor, from the salads to the main dishes. The choices were limited and unappetizing: dry chicken, burnt fish, overcooked beef, and undercooked pasta. Even the drink options were disappointing, with only local wine, a single type of beer, and very few choices for other alcoholic beverages. The resort also offers themed à la carte restaurants, some of which require an extra fee. We tried the seafood restaurant, which was the most expensive at around €15 per person. Unfortunately, the experience was so bad that we couldn’t even finish our main courses. In summary, while the resort itself is quite good—especially for large families—it’s not ideal for solo travelers or small families due to the poor food quality. The beautiful grounds, friendly service, and spacious rooms are overshadowed by an abysmal dining experience, which is a shame for an all-inclusive resort.
