This is a lovely hotel and a great relaxed resort. The best of both worlds. Room: We came for a family holiday (kids age 12,11,7) had a 2 bedroom villa, which was a good set-up. Nice size pool between the two rooms. Beach villa 507/507. 2 mins walk to the beach. Youngest slept in our room as worried about passing the pool in the night, but we knew this beforehand. Probably the best room set-up and location we’ve ever had. Pleased with this. Lots of wildlife.. monkeys, monitors, frogs.. we loved this. Food: we had Thai buffet which was good. Great selection at breakfast. Aside from this, we ate at local restaurants- which were very good. Head out of the hotel and turn right. At the end of the beach there is a little village - lots of little restaurants. All very quiet due to lack of tourists following covid. Don’t be put put off by the quietness. Everything is fresh and delicious and you will be totally spoilt. I really hope tourism recovers a little here - the local people are desperately in need of it. ‘Same but different’ shack on beach (out of. Hotel and turn left) is small, but good food for lunch. Rice and noodle dishes, stir/fry, fries, very reasonably priced Lassis/soft drinks and beer. We ate here every lunchtime as it was close to our villa and couldn’t have asked for better. Beach: The beach is public, but Pimalai side is very quiet. Complimentary kayaks and paddle boards etc. we had a lovely family time. Excursions: hotel organised excursions are great and reasonably priced. We did morning mangrove tour - our tour guide (Gun) was superb. We also went on sunset cruise with snorkelling - also great! Downside: On check-in, we had no orientation and very little info about the hotel when we arrived. We were told everything was on the app. However, there was no internet in the room when we arrived (I think an external problem) so we couldn’t access it. We felt a little deserted. This was not a big deal - but we had no map or any real info about the hotel and surrounding area. It took 2 phonecalls to reception to explain we had no idea where I’m the resort we actually were, and no idea how to get to restaurants/no idea of food choices at hotel. They brought us a map. We arrived in the late afternoon after a long journey from London via Phuket. Nobody suggested where we go for food. Nobody asked if we wanted to make a reservation to eat. We headed out of the room to find food- with 3 very grumpy, tired and hungry kids. We found that there was a Thai buffet at the hotel - but only knew about this as it was on the route out of our room to the lobby. Nobody mentioned this when we checked in and we wouldn’t have known if we were staying anywhere else on the resort. Advice for people with kids— avoid top section of resort/hillside if you want to be near beach. It’s a bit more of a trek. Both pools are lovely and nicely shaded. Overall a lovely stay and wouldn’t hesitate to return.

The overall feeling is not very good. When I check-in at the store, I was told that the hotel restaurant is closed recently and breakfast cannot be provided. The solution is to give a certain amount of wine credit every day, but we said it was unacceptable. Later, we argued many times before agreeing to refund a certain amount of cash. But it was still lower than the breakfast price, and we reluctantly accepted it later. The environment is ok, but the service is unsatisfactory, parking is not very convenient, overall not recommended.

We had a bungalow with direct views of the beautiful beach and the sea. In the flood, the water is not 5 metres from the spacious terrace. The bungalow itself offers enough space and is stylishly furnished. Apart from a comfortable bed, the bathroom has a rainforest shower and a whirlpool which can enjoy the beautiful sunset in the evening. The staff is very friendly and premature, small shortcomings like a defected shower head were immediately fixed. Breakfast is served directly on the own terrace and is very delicious. All in all, the Hideaway was the best hotel in our entire Thailand holiday!

We spent 11 night here with my husband and 9-year-old son, and we all really loved the place! We stayed at the Pond room, and even had a partly sea view. I highly recommend booking Pond room instead of little cheaper Deluxe room. Pond rooms are all close to the pool and other services, whereas Deluxe rooms can be really high up the hill. We are not afraid of hills or steps, but even for us climbing all the way up felt quite exhausting (we did this once). Good: - The room was always clean and with good amenities. - Nice pool area(s) - Thaiboxing facilities a nice extra - Really good breakfast with anything you can ask for. Cappuccino etc. can be ordered (free). - You can walk (15min?) to nearby beach with many restaurants (you do need some adventurous mindset and a good flash light in the evening, though). You just need to locate the small wooden bridge and ignore the gaps :D - Nice restaurants short drive away (Coco Tango our absolute favorite with stunning view at sunset), drivers always flocking outside the resort gate. - Also some casual restaurants on walking distance and even right across the gate. - The spa was divine (though really, really expensive on Thai standards - one hour massage was something like 50 € with the happy hour discounts 😅) Not so good: - The bed is HARD. I mean _really_ hard. I was really surprised to find the bed to be such poor quality in a five star resort. I was sore the whole stay as it was impossible to sleep nicely. Even though I loved the place, this is the reason I would not return --> So, if someone at the hotel is reading this, please do invest in softer mattresses! (or even soft mattress topper) Good to know: - The monkeys invaded the resort area few days before we left. The staff did their best to keep them out, but still we had few encounters with aggressive monkeys, one of them even flashing teeth and rushing towards our son. I know, we're in the tropics and this could happen, but just to let you know to be cautious. - Some places were a little worn out (e.g. our terrace wooding was partly falling apart), so if you are looking for shiny and new, you might find these small flaws disturbing (we didn't mind). - Prices for food and drink are high (as one can expect in a five star place). - It is quite far away from Saladan, which is good to know if you for example dive (boats leave from Saladan, but dive shops do arrange the transportation, you'll just be the first and the earliest to be picked up) All in all, I do recommend this place, I just hope they would fix the bedding. It was really uncomfortable even on thai standards (we have been staying in much cheaper places with decent mattresses). Luckily there was heavenly spa that helped with the aching muscles 😜

Hotel overall is good! Simple and not luxurious, everything is in order, and has a home-like intimacy. The structure of all the guest rooms is basically the same. Some of them have the same. The closer to the swimming pool, the closer to the beach. The beach is not very long, but it is enough, suitable for the hotel. Shopping around is not particularly convenient. There are only two bottles of water in the room, and it is not convenient to buy water! The hotel restaurant is good and the food tastes great! The front desk service is warm and generous, there are people who understand Chinese, extra points!

Ha Wei takes the elderly and children and usually cooks breakfast by himself, so this one has a kitchen specially selected. The hotel owner is very considerate, and puts drinks and bread in the refrigerator, all for free. Seeing that we took the kids and brought us two large inflatable swimming laps. One day it rained all day, and I really didn’t want to eat outside. The lady boss even drove us to the market. We were all embarrassed that day, it was raining and we went to several places to buy it. The hotel here helps to rent motorcycles and cars at a discount. The environment here is very good, about 5 minutes walk to the beach, 7-11 is also close. The only point is that there is a small slope when entering the hotel from the road. If you have limited mobility, you should consider this. The elderly in my family are in good health, even if they are more than 80 years old, no problem. Also, we stayed for the first night. I didn’t know it was raining at night. We all slept soundly. The hotel staff also helped to collect the clothes. I was so touched😹. Write so many comments for the first time!

Unfortunately the stay was a little bit tainted by the lack of sleep- we had a room facing the road and were awoken by the hotel security alarm every night between 1-3am.
It seemed a dog was setting off the alarm but it was just a bit disappointing that it wasn’t til our 5th night of being woken up that they turned off the alarm
Room- overall the room was kept quite clean, and was fairly basic and maybe not as modern as other places.
Shower was ok but the temperature was hard to stay constant and kept burning hot
Location- on long beach the location was excellent, close to many other restaurants and bars and most people rent bikes to get around this island which I felt safe doing from the hotel
Facilities- pool is excellent, beautiful infinity with a view of the beach. Lots of loungers which do get snapped up pretty fast but the hotel has a policy to try to avoid people reserving loungers.
Massages also available on the beach next to the pool and hotel restaurant (though more expensive than other places nearby) serves good food and has a good happy hour on its cocktails which are great.

We had a fantastic stay at Long Beach Chalet! Our lagoon pavilion room was beautiful and the perfect place to relax. For my girlfriend's birthday, the staff surprised us with a card and decorations in the room, which made her entire day!
The resort itself offered a lot. We enjoyed watching the fire dance show on Saturday night, and it was amazing to see hermit crabs scuttling along the beach at sunset. The pool was a great place to chill out and soak up the sun.
We also enjoyed renting moterbikes to see what lanta had to offer, as well as visiting the amazing Lanta Animal Welfare charity during our stay.
The breakfast buffet was incredible! There was a huge variety of options, including cereals, juices, fruits, breads, and hot meals. Everything was fresh and delicious. However, a word of caution for vegans like myself, or anyone with allergies: the soy milk they offer contains dairy.
Please can I requested that the management label ingredients more clearly and offer a non-dairy milk option, as there currently aren't any plant-based milks available. Also the vegan tofu burger should not automatically come with cheese or an egg based mayo. This is not vegan and can cause some confusion.
Despite this minor point, we absolutely loved our stay at Long Beach Chalet. The value was fantastic, and the staff were exceptional. We would highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a beautiful and relaxing getaway!

TthejasongWords cannot express how much we enjoyed staying at this property. The family that runs it are some of the sweetest, most friendly people you'll ever meet and even gave us a big hug when departing this morning. The hotel and the rooms are exceptionally clean and well appointed! They helped us book the travel to our next destination, helped us find a great motorbike rental and answered so many of our questions. They also operate the cafe downstairs which serves incredibly good coffee and food. The hotel is centrally located to everything you could want to be close to! We loved the environmentally friendly business practices they employ and they even gave us reusable water bottles that we were able to refill in the lobby throughout our stay. If you're looking for a place to stay in Ko Lanta, look no further...this is it!!!
NNeilJThis hotel was an absolute gem! From the moment we arrived, the breathtaking ocean view took our breath away. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, always going above and beyond to make our stay memorable. The rooms were spacious, beautifully designed, and provided the perfect oasis after a day of sun-soaked adventures. The beach access was unparalleled, with pristine white sands and crystal-clear waters just steps away. We indulged in delicious seafood at the hotel's beachfront restaurant, savoring every bite while watching the stunning sunsets. Overall, an unforgettable experience that exceeded all expectations. We can't wait to return!
GGuest UserI stayed in this hotel for 3 nights with my girlfriend. Firstly the staff on the desk were very welcoming and collected our bags from the door and delivered them to our room. We were given a welcome drink on arrival and the check in process was effortless and very efficient. The room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. The pool and beach were a 2 min walk from our door and the beach restaurant serves excellent food. There were no issues during our stay and I was able to rent a bike from the hotel reception which arrived in 5 mins which was also a very efficient service. After checking out a staff member dropped us to the pier where we continued our journey. Shortly after checking out the manager of the hotel (never got his name) emailed me to say I had managed to leave my €300 camera behind in the room. He rang me to organise how to get the camera back to me and went to the effort of bubble wrapping, and boxing up my camera to be delivered to Koh Phi Phi on the same day and rang me during each stage to keep me in the loop as to where my camera is. Once the camera arrived on the island he rang me to tell me where I was able to collect it. This level of customer service cannot go unrecognised and he asked for nothing in return. I can’t urge travellers enough to stay in this hotel. I will be returning 100%. Thank you very much Lanta Staff & Manager!
Zzyz900929The rooms are large and the scenery is beautiful. This is my favorite hotel among the three hotels I stayed in Thailand. We are two people staying in the hotel. There are currently four rooms in the hotel. The rooms are very spacious. Listening to the waves, it ’s really beautiful. The front desk apple and the hotel waiter made us very comfortable. Special thanks to the male boss who helped us solve many problems, to help us rent a car, to inform us about sea issues and all other help. Thank you 🙏 Of course, the most satisfied is the dining problem, I like the breakfast and dinner dishes here, it is very delicious, really ~ I would like to stay here next time ~ ❤️
GGuest UserWe had such a good stay at the hotel before that we came back again this time when we were visiting Koh Lanta for diving. We can't comment on the breakfast as we didn't include this option.
- Staff are very nice and friendly.
- Really listen to feedback - last time I had suggested water dispensers to save on plastic, when we returned for this trip (only 2 weeks later) there was now one on each floor! This was amazing to see and I'm so glad the hotel is taking steps to be more eco friendly, so thank you!
- The room was much bigger than it looks, and has a large desk with a chair.
- Strong, reliable WiFi.
- Very clean.
- On our previous trip, we were able to check in early at no extra cost which we really appreciated :)
- Room includes a fridge.
- Very close to a 7-eleven and a few restaurants, although we didn't go to that particular stretch of beach it is also close to a beach, located in a more quiet area in the centre of the island making it easy to visit the north and south (but, the location does require you to have a motorbike to get around!).
- Good, strong air con.
- Value for money is very good.
The only negative during our stay was that at one point my boyfriend's shoes were nowhere to be found in the lobby, (as per Thai culture, you must leave them outside before entering the guest house), and it turned out another guest / neighbour had 'borrowed' them. Luckily they had only gone to the shop and so we weren't without the shoes for long, but it still wasn't ideal... Not the fault of the owner, but perhaps a sign requesting people to not do this? Overall though, we had a great stay and would definitely come back if we visit Koh Lanta again!
GGuest UserFirstly I need to mention the wonderful staff in reception and breakfast as they were friendly and helpful during our visit. We stayed in the large building and had a room with 2 large beds, shower and a shared balcony overlooking the pool. The hotel grounds are pretty, the pool is a decent size and very clean and it is only a short walk to long beach. There are also bungalows available on the property. The hotel offers a good laundry service which is inexpensive and they also organise travel for you. The breakfast was made to order and there were several choices including cereals, eggs fried, omelettes, pancakes, toast and fruit. I have read the other reviews so it may be that we were unlucky with our room as the first day we found the shower tiles to be dirty with brown marks which I cleaned myself and the bed was not made properly. The air conditioner did not perform well and as soon as you left the room it went off as you only have one key. The toilet did not flush well and the shower head would not stay on the wall but the water was warm enough. The maids clean and provide towels every two days but this was not a problem as they left water and toilet rolls outside the door. There was only one shampoo sachet and a very small soap provided but there are nearby minimarts to buy shower gels etc..The pool area had about 16 beds and 3 bean bags which was not sufficient at times because the hotel was full. The pool is also shared with the Tamarind Hotel behind. The picture of the pool area shows sunshade umbrellas but there were none at all so from midday you were in full sun. However the price we paid was good for what we received and we did enjoy our stay apart from the small issues mentioned.
CChris SwedenWe moved to the resort after another not so good experience for one night on another beach. The resort is nicely located on the beach we think is the nicest to stay at if you do not want the extremely quiet experience. It is also conveniently located close to town. The breakfast buffet is very good, the pool areas great and the beach as well. The restaurant offers a dinner buffet which I think needs rethinking. We did not try the gym or the massage services which seemed expensive though. The resort is very green and on the plus side they have some resident monitor lizard which they sometimes feed close to the breakfast area. The rooms are ok but not great and could perhaps be cleaned more thoroughly. However, after intending to stay 4 nights we stay 4 nights so it was a good experience after all. We were not really impressed by the island initially but it grew on us and now we actually like it and its vibe along the beach at night a lot.
Ssobrowneyes90Such a cool place to stay. The staff were so friendly when we stayed & let us change to the air conditioned bungalow with only a small upcharge, which was totally fair and very cheap. Very clean with a little patio with a hammock. They provide bottles of water in the room as well as towels & toiletries. The have a water dispenser so you can easily top up water, offer laundry service, gasoline if you have a bike/car and also snorkeling gear. 5 min walk to a beautiful beach & close to so many authentic restaurants. The only place i would want to stay if i return to Koh Lanta! Thankyou :)
GGuest UserThe hotel is located in a stunning location. The views are simply amazing. It is noticeable that the hotel has remnants of its former luxury, that it is ancient and has not been in operation for a long time. But the ratio of the price ($50 per night) with the service and the opening views of the island and the sea - only covers its shortcomings in the form of tired furniture. The choice of food is not very large, but we are not a picky customer. We were satisfied with everything, including breakfast included in the price and separate dishes that we ordered for lunch and dinner.
The staff is very friendly and fulfilled every request.
The downside is that there is no swimming beach, but after walking 1 kilometer along the beach, we realized that there are no ideal beaches on this side. And all the five hotels that were along the road are suffering just as much as we are, only the price is higher there.
Another minus is that the room we chose near the pool is high up and it’s hard to climb up the steps into it, but this effort is rewarded with a mesmerizing view from the room or the pool.
We spent most of the time at the pool, because... Swimming on the beach is not very comfortable. But I think that we are lucky, because... we were alone there. Completely alone, there were only 5 people in the hotel, together with us, and we saw other people a couple of times. It was gorgeous, chilling in the pool with the coolest views of other islands and watching the birds fly from tree to tree.
We stayed here in early January. The room was a good size with plenty of storage space (and we don't travel lite),the bathroom was also a good size, we stayed in a luxury bungalow near the beach. There was lots of choice of food at breakfast time including Thai. The staff at breakfast were always checking that the food containers were full, a member of the staff we got talking to was a lovely man called P Lung and he also speaks very good English, he spoke to us most days. We had a few minor problems during our holiday but when we reported them to reception they were dealt with very quickly indeed. I would like to make a constructive comment or two, I think that every pair of sunbeds should have an umbrella with them and also to releive the pressure on the pool near the restaurant (nearly all the sunbeds were taken by 9.00am) more sunbeds and umbrellas could be put around the newer pool as I only counted 9 pairs of sunbeds and 4 umbrellas with lots of unused space. The 7.00am to 7.00pm rule should be strictly enforced. This hotel overall is good value for money but very popular with families with children who some parents allow them to run around and make a lot of noise without telling them to be a little bit more quiet.
