Mercure Koh Chang Hideaway

We were greeted with welcome drinks, checked in and checked in very quickly. We stayed in a superior room with a king size bed. The first thing that struck us when we entered our room was the musty smell, but then we apparently got used to it and did not notice it. We were very surprised and pleased that in addition to the king size bed, our room had a bunk bed. There were no problems with hot and cold water. We stayed for 4 nights, during these days they changed small towels once, large towels and bed linen were not changed, but for us personally there was no need for this. The breakfasts are great, there are repeating dishes, but during these 4 days we found something new every time. The staff is very friendly, the door to the room was locked twice and the staff resolved this issue as quickly as possible. The last two days the wi-fi did not work. Connected and immediately disappeared. The beach is very beautiful and picturesque, the low tides are not particularly felt, but there are stones and corals on the bottom and this of course was a little annoying. The sea is calm, there were no waves. On our last morning there was a thunderstorm and wind, various garbage washed up from the sea to the shore, the hotel staff quickly removed it. The hotel grounds are very green and beautiful. Of course, I would like the beach to be looked after more carefully, the sun loungers were always in the sand. You can rent kayaks. As for the infrastructure: there are cafes, our favorite was the Nanny cafe. There are a couple of massage parlors, a laundry, several shops with a minimal assortment, there are no shops like 7/11, tesco, mini C here, and no pharmacies either. Would we return to this hotel again? Definitely yes!

The room is spacious and clean, but there is no elevator.
