Hotels near Parkbad Kleinfeld, Kriens

I was really excited to start travelling after 2 years hiatus. I chose Switzerland as I had already made plans for the a 3 weeks trip in May 2020. I had to cancel it due to the COVID-19 pandemic. I picked Alpina Hotel in Luzerne due to its great loation and affordability. It is near many eateries and other attractions. I booked 2 rooms; 338 and 339. We get to enjoy the street view and marvelled at the beautiful building opposite our rooms. I noticed that the opposite building was built in 1537 [ need to confirm this ]. The street was generally quiet except in the mornings when rubbish trucks cleared did their cleaning. The room has simple layout and mine has 2 sinks in the living area. The bed and pillows area are comfortable. The bathroom is small but all items worked well. I did not see any staff at Alpina as most of them were based at the nearby sister hotel, The Monopol, which is located about 20m away. Checking in was fast and easy and it was done at Monopol. I was grateful for all the guidance and assistance provided by the receptionist. Alpina hotel is located about 110m away from Luzerne Train Station and it was relatively easy to find. My room ; 339 is bigger than 338. All in all, I had a really great experience staying in this hotel.

The location is perfect, you can even go back to your room to rest after taking the cable car from the University of Zurich (right next to the drop-off point). After entering the hotel, there is a small staircase to the counter. If you have large luggage, you need to carry it a short distance. There is no hot water kettle in the room, but fortunately I brought it myself. The bed is comfortable and the bathroom is clean. It is easy to get the toilet paper next to you wet when you shower in the rain, so you have to pay attention to it. I like the atmosphere of breakfast, the food is delicious and the staff is friendly☺️

Positives * Helpful and quick remote service. They helped arrange our requested extra pillows before arrival. They also arranged to send us the Lucerne visitor pass by email two days before arrival. There were some spiders in the rooms that were quickly removed for us. We also had an issue with the air conditioner that was quickly fixed while we were out. * Attractive modern and practical design. * The organic bathroom amenities set by local brand is a nice touch. * There are supermarkets and shops nearby. You must try the freshly baked pastries from Aux Merveilleux de Fred in the morning. The chocolate cramique is delicious as it comes out of the oven. * We requested a quiet room and were assigned on the 5th floor. It was nice and quiet and we could easily access the room using the lift. To be improved: * A microwave would be great to heat up food. Placing one in the common laundry room could also help. * There were no instructions on how to use the electrical stove top and other equipment in the room. This info would be good to add in the Lubo app. * A sponge is provided in the kitchen but there is no dishwashing detergent. There are not enough additional dishes to make use of the dishwasher. A small dish drying tray would be useful in the kitchen too. * The mirror near the entrance needs lighting. The shower area is also too dark. * The body soap was not placed in the shower. It was in the kitchen instead. * The air conditioner made a strange noise from time to time. * The water pressure and temperature of the shower was not stable.

The hotel is very close to No. 21 station, the surrounding environment is very good, and the scenery is beautiful; the temperature in the room cannot be controlled independently, and I was awake in the morning two days. When I asked the front desk, it said that the fresh air system was broken and only cool breeze came out; the mattress was very comfortable; Breakfast is average.

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel de la Paix. The room was comfortable but rather small. The staff were helpful. No tea/coffee in the room and no machine in public area. (I know it is not so common in Switzerland, but why not, when even the cheapest UK hotel can do it?)

The room was average. The front desk and restaurant service were very poor. There were no smiles during the whole process. The scheduled superior room with a sofa bed was changed. Both of the sofa beds were broken. Finally, two mattresses were made on the ground. I'm not sorry.

Lucerne can find the ceiling of the hotel. The best swimming pool and outdoor hot spring among the three hotels in Burgenstock on the mountain road next to the town are superb. There is also a free train ride. The concierge will help park the car, and the service staff is also very enthusiastic. The restaurants and bars in the resort are of a high standard. The hotel rooms are also similar to the pictures, the fly in the ointment is that our room has been adjusted to a room with a worse view.
