I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel because the staff is really absolutely amazing. They're very kind and accommodating and provided me with great suggestions for where to buy rose cakes and other products. Also the night time soup is some of the best I've ever had, I can eat multiple servings, it's so good! I also needed to get to the airport for an early morning flight and the staff helped me book a car and to grab my luggage. The only limitation is that older Chinese homes aren't particularly soundproof but this is just a part of how it was constructed at that time. The area is also very walkable and it's in a great location.

The check in process was smooth and staff is friendly. The boutique hotel is pretty and room is spacious. there is no lift so have to carry our luggage but the staff help us with it. The breakfast is good especially guo qiao mian xian. Enjoyed the afternoon tea too. It's not near metro station, have to take cab and walk abit from the main road but this is not a concern to us. Recommend to stay!

This hotel--Mengjing Wangyue Courtyard Hotel (Kunming Nanping Pedestrian Street Jinma Bijifang Branch)--is situated among charming Chinese heritage sites, with traditional Chinese-style buildings surrounding it, including statues at the entrance that add to its cultural appeal. Although the reception advertises English-speaking staff, only the female manager (based on my observation) is quite fluent; other staff members have limited English skills but are friendly and polite. The breakfast offers a good variety and is delicious, and the room facilities are decent and satisfactory. However, travellers from Southeast Asia should note that bidets are not provided.
Overall, this cultural hotel is a 10/10—definitely worth a visit, especially for its fantastic location. Any minor drawbacks are easily outweighed by the excellent service and quality offered.
