We booked this place at our end of spring festival holidays, after a series of bad overpriced hotels, so arriving here was a very pleasant surprise! The location is very central, in the middle of a busy store and food area, but it's still quieter than any other hotel we stayed in. You are basically the only people living on the roof of this building, it's great! The only downside of this area is that it smells a bit like barbecue outside, but I love barbecue so it's not so bad. The room is huge! There are 2 couch areas, 1 terrace with a small table that we used to eat some takeout, there is also a small kitchen and bathroom in the terrace area. There is also a second terrace with a huge outdoor bathtub, surrounded by plants, great! Only wished it had a bit more light in the tub at night. Remember to bring some candles for best enjoyment. The bed is the biggest bed I've ever slept in, with comfortable pillows and quilt. The main bathroom is also very big, it has a nice shower, and a sauna! One thing about bathroom is that it doesn't have a fan, and it was a bit stinky in the morning. Also we had some trouble with the hot water, had to let the water run for a really long time to get it warm enough for a shower. Other small things that prevent me from giving 5/5 is that it's missing small things like a place to hang towels or robe in the bathroom, and the hot water problem.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The entrance decoration and feel around the hotel was really nice, the service was helpful, our rooms were very clean, and the location was really nice - it was in a quiet park of town but lots of interesting local shops around to explore. Hotel is quite near the airport and we were able to get the airport travel concierge to call the hotel to pick us up from the airport. Hotel is near some eateries and convenience shops. The room is very comfortable and the toilet clean. However the screen for the toilet needs to be changed as it is falling to bits. Water pressure is also good. The beds are comfortable. We also booked with the front desk a free shuttle back to the airport at midnight. We were quite happy with our stay. They had a nice garden at the back .

Clean and comfortable. Although an old hotel but the carpet looks new and clean, fittings such as tap and shower head need to be changed. Good location near to the metro and train stations. A convenience store just beside the hotel and the road next to it has many eateries.The Shanghai restaurant on the second level has some reasonably good Chinese food and pretty affordable too. The buffet breakfast served both Chinese and western dishes. Some of the hotel staff are pretty friendly and helpful especially Mr Yang. The TV is too small although I hardly had time to watch. Stayed here as I had an early morning flight. The hotel is about a 20min walk from the airport's arrival floor, but there's also a free shuttle bus. The earliest bus was at 5am, and took about 5min to reach the departure area. Room was spacious and clean, and I had a view of the airport from my room. Had a great stay!

What a lovely hotel this is. Located in a beautifully restored historic building in a tourist area that is very popular with people taking photos outside. It is located very close to Line 3 metro (10-minute walk at most) which make it convenient for getting to/from the airport, train station, and Western Hills. When we arrived, we were greeted by a very friendly man who gave us a refreshing cool floral drink whilst he checked us in. His English was really good, which was great as we do not speak Chinese. We were shown to our room (Number 5) which was just so nice – large, clean, beautifully decorated, with the most comfortable bed & pillows. The shower was amazing, in fact, I wanted to move in immediately! I was a little concerned when I booked about the fact there is no air conditioning, but I didn’t have to worry. There was a large, powerful ceiling fan and all the windows open (with mosquito screens to keep the nasty creatures out!) to allow the refreshing breeze in. Much nicer than AC, in my opinion. We did not have the breakfast so I can not comment. But every evening, someone came to the room and left us a flask of tea with a small note describing the ingredients and how it would soothe and unwind us. These little touches really made the stay perfect. We were returning to Kunming for one night at the end of our trip, and I enjoyed our stay at this hotel so much, I rebooked for our final night. I would highly recommend and will DEFINITELY stay here again if I return to Kunming

Front desk was kind and accommodating. The room, though small, was well-designed and extremely cozy. The rooftop breakfast lounge and bar was a welcome escape from the business of downtown Kunming. We will definitely be staying here again on our next visit to the city.

Washing was convenient and the hot water was normal, and there were individually packaged toiletries. The service attitude was enthusiastic. Convenient transportation, close to the old street, scenic spots, and high-speed rail stations, there are food downstairs, and the business district is also close. The airport is also 40 minutes away by car. The transportation is very convenient! They also gave us a small safety lock! The front desk is also very interesting! It is worth recommending.

The hotel is relatively new and well-equipped. The hot water for bathing is sufficient and very comfortable. The shampoo is particularly delicate. The room is very clean and the bedding is comfortable. Because it is in the new district, there are few commercial outlets around, and the nearest place to eat is about one kilometer away. But you can order takeout. The hotel has breakfast and supper (provided after 8 pm). There is a handsome chef with a very good attitude. Service: The front desk staff is quite enthusiastic and answers all questions. In short, very satisfied! The hotel provides free pick-up and drop-off at Kunming South High-speed Railway Station, like this arrangement!

Highly recommend. We stayed for 5 nights and had an amazing experience. The owner, Nick, is incredibly kind and helpful. The hotel is beautiful, just as pictured. Stone Forest is about 80min drive away, the city about 50min and Xi Mountain only 15min from Wenlin Street in the city. The surrounding village is quint with the most delicious food and friendly locals. This family style hotel will not disappoint. Would love to visit Nick and his family again.
