JI Hotel Hotels in Kunming

Overall, I like this hotel chain in general and would stay there again, both at this location and in other cities. This was not the first location for this chain that I have stayed at. Location: The hotel is located in a fairly central location. It is very close to Green Lake, though you'll need a map in order to know that. It's across the street from a KFC, 711, and Starbucks, and around the corner from a Burger King. There are also quite a few shared bikes (both electric and not) available from several different companies in front of the hotel. Amenities: Breakfast is available for an additional charge, and there is a laundry room. I used neither of these. The hotel room has a refrigerator and more than the standard two bottles of drinking water plus an electric kettle, tea set, two packets of tea, and some candy in a dish (that looked like it had been there for a very long time). This hotel chain is generally very good about giving you more water if you ask. The bed is very comfortable, the tv is huge, the shower is hot with good water pressure, and the room is clean overall. There were ink stains on the sofa, but no problems with the bedding. Some of the furniture/walls were starting to be in need of repair, but it's not a problem unless you're super picky. Safety/Service: The front desk staff are always very nice and helpful and willing to answer any questions that you have, but you'll need to speak Mandarin or have a translator handy. English is limited or non-existent. I felt safe in my room, and I didn't worry about leaving things in my room that I generally keep on my person in other hotels. The maid was also very kind and helped me when I saw her in the hallway and asked for help with a small problem (that was totally just my ignorance and too embarrassing to mention!). WIFI: Wifi is available, but there is no information about the network or password in the room that I could find. I went down to the front desk and the woman there put the password on my phone for me. Quiet: Well, there were some very loud and very rude guests staying in rooms near me. I don't know what the hotel's response would have been as I didn't all the front desk to complain. It definitely could have been quieter. There was no noise from outside the hotel, though. Problems: I stayed at this hotel three nights total but two times (one night at the beginning and two nights at the end of my trip). My second room at this hotel (when I stayed for two nights), there was a blinking light inside a grate in the ceiling that can only be seen when all the lights are out. It was really bothering me, and making it difficult for me to sleep. I called the front desk at approx. 12:30 in the morning, and they didn't quite understand my problem (completely due to my sub-par Mandarin), but they sent someone to take a look. The maintenance guy who came said he knew exactly what I was talking about once I pointed upward. He didn't need me to turn off the light and show him. He said there was nothing he could do. If they turned out that light, I would have no electricity in the room. He also said that it's like that in every room. I didn't remember seeing it in the first room I had stayed in at the beginning of my trip, and I also didn't remember it from when I had stayed for three nights at a different location. Whether it really exists in every room or not is here nor there, though it ought to be obvious that a blinking light that doesn't turn off when you turn all the lights off is a bad idea, and something ought to be done). It is possible that it exists in every room but that it's not visible from the bed in every room due to the placement of that grate.

Avoid pits in rooms near the elevator room... I always feel that such a corridor-elevator room should not be designed for all seasons. Do you know the fear of being awakened by the noise of the next suitcase after walking through it? (Picture attached, easy to understand at a glance) Someone checked in with a suitcase at 1 o'clock in the night, and left at 5 o'clock in the morning. I have never been so eager to check out at dawn. I only rested for three trembling hours throughout the whole journey. Today's special forces tour was like a walking zombie.

The room is clean and tidy with no odor. The front desk lady is very gentle and patient. She called ahead to confirm and arranged a quieter room for me as requested. It is also very close to Kunming Station, about a 10-minute walk away. It is very convenient and a very satisfying stay.

Stayed in this hotel two times in my trip, 2 days at the start and 2 days at the end. I requested in trip.com for non smoking rooms. As I checked in, I requested again for non smoking rooms but they mentioned they did not have non smoking rooms. In my first stay, there was a strong cigarette smell when we entered, especially strong in the toilets. The cigarette smell was abit random, some times abit stronger and sometimes you can’t smell it. Maybe the smell through the aircon vent, and there’s certain timing when more people smoke. Gave them our feedback and they say they will clean our room in our next stay and gave us air freshener and eye masks. We didn’t want it at first but the receptionist came out of the hotel and passed it to us as we were waiting. At our 2nd stay, the smell was better and only certain timing there was abit of smell, probably air con vent. The cleaner lady was very sweet she gave us more waters as she saw our cough medicine box on the table. The air in Kunming is quite dry. The room is clean, room is comfortable and you can take additional water at the reception. Overall service was good.

The Four Seasons Hotel has been getting better and better in recent years. This time, I originally booked a hotel by the Green Lake, but because the two rooms were not on the same floor, I changed my mind and changed to the Four Seasons, and there was only the last family room left. I was so lucky! I have never stayed in this room type before, and I rarely stay in the Four Seasons. I was impressed by this stay, so I will give it a thumbs up: 1. The hotel is clean and simple, and the room facilities are relatively new. 2. The price of extra breakfast is reasonable. After all, we didn’t actually enjoy this cost-effectiveness for some 168 breakfasts. 3. The waiters are professional and enthusiastic, and they try their best to consider the guests and satisfy them. 4. It is equipped with a basic washing and drying machine, which is free to use. Although it is useless, it is humane enough to cope with urgent needs. In the future, if you travel purely and don’t stay in a hotel, you should still consider the Four Seasons as your first choice!

This hotel has a very good environment and is very quiet. As the last hotel to leave Yunnan, it is very good to choose here. It is very convenient to take a taxi to the airport. The hotel service attitude is also very good. I took the initiative to upgrade our room. Ctrip has a breakfast. We didn't catch up with it. Come and experience it next time.

A decent all-season hotel. I usually choose all-season hotel or a certain hotel when I go out. This time I drove to Kunming alone after playing Fuxian Lake. I chose this hotel mainly because it is close to Jiaochang Road and it is the season when jacarandas are in full bloom. I want to go and have a look. The road in front of the hotel is relatively small. The environment is in the downtown area. The front faces the street. The back is currently a ruined construction site that has not been started. However, the hotel has its own parking lot, which is convenient for me to park. The disadvantage is that the entrance and exit of the parking lot are relatively narrow and not easy to find, which is a bit of a test of driving skills. There is a gas station across the road from the hotel, which is particularly useful for guests who drive by car! However, there are no eye-catching parking guidance signs at the entrance and front desk of the hotel. The girl at the front desk checked in very quickly, but she was too impatient. She asked me to give a good review before I checked in. How can I give you a good review before I even saw the room? It is recommended that the waiter improve the standard reception language. The breakfast is relatively simple and monotonous, and it is recommended to improve it a little. The room was clean and the bedding was good. The best thing is that the hotel has a self-service laundry room with a dryer, which is especially useful for people traveling far away. There is also a gym on the sixth floor, but unfortunately I didn't go there this time.
