Albir Playa Hotel & Spa

From the minute we arrived to the minute we left 9 days later it was just the relaxing break that my wife,my daughter,my son in law ,my granddaughter and I were looking for. Reception check in was easy and quick, the restaurant staff are great with food good standard and plenty choice to suit us all. Bar pool open, again staff great as were all staff in the hotel, my family have visited Albir Playa Hotel maybe 16/17 times over the years and hopefully we will visit many more times in future.

5 th time we have been but my goodness this year things had changed and not for the better the room wasn’t as clean as other year grime around the bath taps and very dated was asked halfway through our breakfast to move tables whilst eating so someone could sit next to the window rude also the lady was embarrassed when they moved us also the spa lady was rude when we asked to use showers which we had done for the last 5 yrs saying no , spoke to a man on reception who also was rude when asking him why we weren’t allowed and told he then said you should of showered in yr room but we had to leave our room by 12 and wasn’t getting picked up till 6-30 pm so we sunbathed till 5pm full of cream and chlorine from pool all we wanted was to shower wouldn’t let us keep our room on , I really liked this hotel that’s why we kept going back this time was special it was our honeymoon but I’m so disappointed not all the staff were rude just a few I really hope it goes back to how it was

Arrived at 3am and the staff at reception were quick and very friendly. The only thing I didn’t like was the fact I was visibly parched so asked for some water as my own had run out- didn’t have a drop unless I paid for it which I found a bit odd considering it was only water I was asking for. Nonetheless, efficient check in process. I went up to the room and was pleasantly surprised. From previous reviews and photos I wasn’t sure what to expect but it was genuinely faultless. Beds super comfy, working tv, quiet air con, safe (€4 per day) and a powerful shower. Balcony was also very spacious and had a nice view of the pool area. Few nice touches in the room also. A card to let you know who had cleaned your room that day and lots of little bits in the bathroom. Toothbrush, body lotion etc. the highlight of the room for me was the fridge. It was SO COLD it was great for aftersun and water. I opted for the bed and breakfast at the hotel. The breakfast had your average selection of fruit, eggs, sausages, pastries etc. Food was okay with a decent selection. The pool area was just beautiful. I gasped on my first day as I walked out. Doesn’t open until 10am and closed at 8pm so this stopped sun lounger hogging. The pool is great and easily accessible for all. Lots of sun loungers and a quiet area to the side. The pond was a beautiful touch. The area itself is great. Very quiet and clean with lots of shops and restaurants nearby. I’d say it was a 10 minute walk to the beach front which was beautiful. Would definitely come back to this hotel. Anything I didn’t like about my holiday had nothing to do with the hotel itself. Brilliant stay!!

We were upgraded to a deluxe room due to it being our third stay here which is a nice touch. The slight disappointment was that as this was a free upgrade this excluded the usual complimentary robes and pool towels which seemed a little frugal. Nevertheless we appreciated the gesture. If I had paid for the deluxe room, I would have probably complained due to the cigarette burn and staining on the sofa and also the stained curtains on the inside fabric. As we hardly spend time in our room, we felt that we would overlook this. The room otherwise was clean, hot water, quiet air con and fridge. The daily room clean is a nice welcomed touch. We slept really well, hardly any noise. Last couple of days we were woken up by knocking on the room next door but we just used this as our morning wake up call. Didn't stay by the pool, always went to the beach which is a nice stroll away. Breakfast fine, love the cava so I had a bucks fizz sometimes. The orange juice is lovely. Fruit fine, but would be nice to have fresh yoghurt. Also omelettes were cooked in advance so cold on occasions which isn't great. The pastries were so nice...too nice maybe!!. The staff in the restaurant were great and it was spotless. Overall a nice stay, but more attention needed in the deluxe rooms.

We stayed for a week with kids and albir was very nice place to have a relaxed holiday. 4 star hotel, but doesn't have all the facilities. To make a cup of tea or coffee, we received a kettle ONLY from the reception after a request. Room was okay and daily cleaning. Very very small play area mostly wasn't occupied. Swimming pools are ok size and kids enjoyed a lot. We had breakfast and dinner included. Lots of choices, but sometime main dishes were half cooked. No salad sauces or chilli sauce for those who wants to have a spicy option. Most of the staffs were very Friendly Hotel should consider shuttle service to Benidorm beach.. Would have been very helpful, but we have used Public transport bus number 10.. Used the moovit app for live bus tracking. Albir is nice place for evening walk along the beach.

We have just returned from a lovely 7 day family holiday in the Albir playa hotel, after reading some mixed reviews we were unsure what to expect but we were very pleasantly surprised. The hotel is lovely and we couldn’t fault a thing, the rooms were nice and bathroom modern we were in a room on the 5th floor so not sure if these are one of the refurbished rooms or not, the room was cleaned daily with fresh towels too. The food was really nice with lots of choice and everything was fresh, we aren’t fussy eaters and enjoyed trying the different foods on offer each day, we stayed on a half board basis and expected to eat out if the food wasn’t great but we only ended up eating out one night at Kathmandu opposite the hotel which we could also highly recommend. The pool area was very nice and had games each afternoon for the children. Drinks very reasonably priced for a hotel also. The free shuttle service to the beach was handy too and we used it twice, when we rang to be picked up the driver was there in less than 5 minutes. All in all a lovely stay and we would 100% return.
