Hôtel la Croix Blanche

The staff was overworked and so difficult to find when needed. It took 15 minutes to find the actual hotel because they closed its primary entrance and redirected entry through one of its partner hotels. After walking around and around and being ignored by a number of the staff, we then had to wait for over 40 minutes for someone to appear at reception to check in. To be fair, once the staff did show up, there were several nice individuals, but I think they were extremely overworked. Because it was so late we opted to eat in one of their restaurants and had the same issue, waiting almost 40 minutes to order and then even longer for the meal to be served. When finally we checked in, to get to the room, one had take our bags we had just brought up back down the stairs, leave the building, mount a second larger stair, walk around the back of the building, go down two flights of stairs, enter another door and then up two more flights of very narrow, circular stairs with all our bags. We were offered no help from the staff. I'm pretty sturdy but still, this was a lot of work. If you're older, I'd say this is just not possible. When we got to the room, it was very tight. I like small spaces, but this was extreme, especially for the price. For my wife to get to the bathroom at night, it was impossible to do without bumping into me and waking me up. The seagulls roosting on the roof right outside the window were insane and did not stop squalling until 2-3 in the morning, and then up again around 5 in the morning. I could have tolerated some of this, but for the price, it was just too much. St. Michel is a spectacular place but so thick with tourists it becomes almost impossible to appreciate. The food is horrible everywhere and one can tell everyone who works there is just tired of dealing with tourists. I would not recommend staying on the island at all, but for anyone who really wants to give it a go I would say so not even think of staying more than 1 day.

This is a very nice, comfortable hotel with friendly and helpful staff. It is very charming to stay here. The breakfast is tasty also and a good value. We had a loft room. I slept on the main level (where, to my delight, windows looked out on the bay) and my daughters slept in the loft. We had read in some reviews that the hotel can be noisy, in terms of street noise, but we didn't notice that at all.

We stayed here for one night. Booked with *********** Was given good clear instructions about the access code, and the ticket which includes the shuttle bus at extra cost. Check in was efficient. The room was small but adequate.we had a dog with us. Very quirky style in furnishings in the room and throughout the hotel. Breakfast was ok. The hotel had free car parking. Very good location 25 minute walk to Mont St Michel.although there is a free shuttle bus right outside the hotel we were not allowed to use it Only small dogs under 10 KG allowed on the shuttle bus. .when we checked out we left behind my husband’s black puffa jacket in the room. Having made enquiries about it they don’t have it which I find strange as the garment was 100% left behind I can only draw my own conclusions as to what happened to the jacket .So my advice is to check the room on your departure as anything left behind you won’t see again... very disappointing and not what I was expecting. V Very strang

I think it's a room like a Japanese business hotel, so I like it, but it was clean and I was satisfied. The only disappointment was that the reception, breakfast restaurant and rooms were all in separate buildings and had to walk a little. And the building with the room is very hard to understand. I was explained in English but I couldn't understand. At the time of my check-in, another customer (French) was just trying to check in, and he said, `` Because we are checking in now, let's go to the room building '', so we went together Was. I was able to go to the room immediately because they were there, but if I were alone, I might not have been able to get to the room. I had such a serious thought, but the room was beautiful and there was no problem after check-in. Except that the shower water pressure was weak. We stayed at the island of Mont-Saint-Michel cheaply and were quite satisfied. Finally, the location of the reception is just up the stairs in front of the famous omelet store (pictured). And stairs (photo) to go to the room building. The breakfast restaurant faces the street so you can see it right away.

The hotel is well located at the entrance to the city of Mont Saint-Michel, but don't expect to see a surprising view of either the bay or the abbey. There are the roofs of the buildings that surround it that block the view. The room is quite spacious and well appointed. The bathroom has a corner bath, but no window. The beds and furniture are clean, but I was unpleasantly surprised to see the state of the window sills and frames blackened with dirt. I wanted to put my phone there to make a video of the sunrise but I was quickly challenged by the state of the windows. The hotel does not have an elevator and the stairs are quite narrow. Therefore, not suitable for the elderly or people with reduced mobility. There was enough choice for breakfast and the girl who served us was very nice. There were just some products (pain au chocolat, for example) that were not replenished. It was not yet the end of the service, however. We wanted to eat at the restaurant but the reservation is full. Surprisingly, passing there at the start and middle of service, a lot of tables are empty but we were refused access and sent to the restaurant of the nearby inn.

The hotel is in the scenic area, about 20 minutes walk from Mont Saint-Michel Castle. There is also a free shuttle bus to and from Mont Saint-Michel. The room we have has a balcony overlooking Mont Saint-Michel. The hotel does not have a lift and the luggage must be picked up by the guest. There is a parking lot in front of and around the hotel, and the parking fee is charged by the entrance of the scenic spot, 4 Euro per day. There is a restaurant on the first floor of the hotel, and there are many restaurants around, which is convenient.
