Stayed one night at start of TMB. Got put in a small room facing the highway. Not much of a view. Rooms are beat up and a bit depressing. Bar was understaffed for happy hour. Friendly staff at Dinner and the food was good. Breakfast was a disaster. We arrived at 8:00AM to find the entire dining room filled with dirty dishes from the early arrivers. Food was depleted. One lone worker trying to stock the buffet and not keeping up, and no one was clearing dishes. Another staffing or poor planning issue. The only time on the TMB I paid for breakfast but ended up not getting much of anything.

Difficile de trouver une table dans un restaurant aux Houches un samedi soir début juillet. De nombreux restaurants fermés, les bars complets en ce soir de match de l’ Euro de football. Nous avons tenté notre chance au restaurant du Chalet - hôtel du bois. Le personnel s’est mis en quatre pour nous trouver une place . Prévue principalement pour les clients de l’hôtel, la carte était limitée et la formule entrée + plat ou plat+ dessert obligatoire. En bon touriste, nous avons choisi une raclette, à présentation traditionnelle. Rien à dire sur le fromage mais la portion de charcuterie paraissait plutôt petite pour des adolescents affamés. Beaux desserts. Prix correct. Service de qualité, avec le sourire.

I stayed here for 2 nights in Feb and only writing this review as it has somehow bothered me each time i think about the holiday we had. NUpon arriving, the receptionist was really helpful but once we got to the room, it was nice and cozy but not cleaned properly. We turned the heating on as it was cold, but it did not work. The next day, when we went to use the showers, there were no towels so we were just left stranded. We requested the cleaners, that we needed some but waited like hours. We had to dry up with the dryer and go downstairs to the receptionist to ask for towels. The second night, our beds/fresh towels were not given. The dinner we had, the waiter messed up our order and we were forced to eat what we could as the kitchen was now closed. Just a disappointing experience overall. We would have stayed again at this hotel, given its location and size that they should easily accommodate its paid visitors but I would be thinking twice.

Merci pour ce séjour, le professionnalisme des employés est extra; petit bémol en ce qui concerne le restaurant, il est très mal insonorisé, ambiance cantine de collège. Heureusement il y avait la possibilité de prendre des planches à grignoter au bar, en dehors de la salle du restaurant. Lorsque nous avons fait la remarque sur le bruit, le patron n'a pas apprécié la celle-ci, qui pourtant avait été dite en toute la courtoisie possible. Sinon possibilité de se restaurer dans le village.

Charming stay in Les Houches at the Chalet Hotel Du Bois. Staff were incredibly friendly and facilities were perfect for our stay. Excellent pool, bar and restaurant facilities. Bedroom was perfectly comfortable for our ski stay and we would absolutely stay again!

Staff were extremely helpful and could not do enough.
Room very clean and amazing views. Not too close to local lifts but just put your name down the day before and their own mini bus was ready and waiting and bang on time and just a 5 min trip to the main lifts. I hear people moan about the pool being too cool (get a life!) for me the temperature was perfect and very clean. Breakfast was plentiful and included fresh squeezed orange juice, eggs and bacon. Chamonix short bus ride to main town but plenty to do in this lovely resort of les Houches. professional and pleasant stay. Thank you to all the ladies on reception. I will return! Dr Stokes.
