I booked in advance and asked the owner a lot of questions. The owner was very enthusiastic and patiently answered and recommended many things that I didn't understand. He also contacted us before landing and helped us find a car to pick us up. He also came over to help us pick up our luggage when we arrived at the entrance of the ancient town. It was so nice. We were so enthusiastic, and as soon as we chatted, we turned out to be fellow villagers, what a fate. The environment of the inn is great. It is located near the main gate of Shuhe Ancient Town and is very close to the Bonfire Party. It takes about three minutes to walk. It's clean, comfortable and quiet. There is a platform on the top floor. If the weather is good, you can see the snow-capped mountains. I will choose again in the future.

During my trip to Yunnan, I stayed in this B&B for three days and two nights. The team led by Xiaomi, Xiao He and Xiao Hu, were really considerate and diligent in their greetings. Since the staff of this B&B are closed from 11pm to 8am, but the first One day we arrived at the B&B very late. They arranged for Xiao He to pick me up in the parking lot and help me carry my luggage to the B&B. They also helped us wash the clothes we had brought from the previous multi-day trip and stayed with us until almost 12 o'clock in the evening. On the second morning, we needed to go out early in the morning to Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. Xiaomi also arranged for staff to pack breakfast for us early in the morning. Xiaomi’s team was very complimentary.

A cosy boutique hotel. Room was clean and comfortable, sufficiently equipped (even has bidet toilet!).
Had a good night's sleep there. If you contact them beforehand, owner will come to the gate to help bring your luggage into the ancient town. Cleaner lady offered to lend me her own personal foldable umbrella so that it was more convenient to bring around (they already provide non-foldable umbrellas for customers to use). Location of hotel is quite central, good to explore all parts of the ancient town. Owner was proactive in adding Wechat so that you can ask for assistance whenever needed. When asked, owner gave useful tips on where to visit.

I was very satisfied after staying for two nights. The whole house is smart, clean and hygienic. The mattress and pillows are very comfortable. You can dry clothes on the roof and the view is good. I told my boss on WeChat that I didn’t need to clean up the house. I went to Yunshanping and Blue Moon Valley early the next morning. When I came back in the afternoon, my aunt saw that there was something missing and asked if there was anything I wanted to add. I was hesitant before whether to extend my stay for another day. There were three nights in Lijiang in total. The third night was booked at a B&B in Dayan Ancient Town. I just wanted to experience it all. Today I regretted my stay in Dayan Ancient Town. I regretted not extending my stay😭 😭, you can definitely take a taxi from Shuhe Ancient Town to Dayan, and then take a taxi back to Shuhe where you live. I sincerely recommend this place. The first two photos are a bit blurry because I removed the person. A small regret is that the landscape in the courtyard is being renovated, and I haven't seen the boss for two days 😂😂.

Pros: This is a good hotel for a family! My son loves the animal feeding activities. The view at the tea house is amazing. The hotel has their own game room, convenient store, etc. They have many restaurants and taste delicious!! Breakfast has lots of choices and starts early. The expat manager/supervisor woman was really nice, friendly, helpful and accommodating! Thank you!
Cons:
1. The front desk/reception. They need to be more welcome and friendly. They were snobbish, not welcome and can’t really speak english (its a chain hotel, hyatt hotel!). We were just about to checked in and were greeted with those frown, if only we havent paid the room we were thinking to move to pullman instead.
2. Book for mountain view room, but they gave us no mountain view. we have to ask to move to other room.
3. We got the room we want, but i think they havent clean the room for awhile, the floor is filthy.
4 if only there is no time schedule to see the alpaca since some people already has their plans for the day and the time schedule might not be fit with guest itineraries. Or they can give us the hotel schedule once we booked the hotel so we can work on our itineraries before check in.
Conclusion: we really enjoyed our stay. Other staffs beside the front desk are nice and friendly. Might come back if they improve the front desk ladies.

Absolutely amazing experience for 4 days! Banyan Tree has one of the best service I ever experienced in China. After check in, Elin added our contact information and reached out on daily basis to make sure we had everything we needed. Hotel staffs were always able to go above and beyond to satisfy our requests. Kudos to all of them! The hotel also has stunning view of Yulong mountain and extremely well designed architecture. We pretty much spent most of time in the hotel. I also love the daily gifts provided by the hotel!

The hotel itself is villas, so you must walk or take a buggy to your room from the lobby.
Breakfast was great with many options, both Chinese and western. My only complaint would be the pillows, since after trying the full menu, I found all pillows to be too thin (I’m a side sleeper).
Super attentive staff that was always at our disposal, making sure we were having our best stay.

The staff here are really very nice! We arrived at the hotel at almost 10pm as we were travelling in from Dali, and after checking us in, they brought us to try the Yak Butter Tea (i hope i got it correct) even though it was so late. They were also nice enough to help us carry our heavy luggages to our room, as there's no lift.
While the room we booked stated ”Mountain View”, the room we got faced the road outside with definitely no mountain view. So we enquired and was told that all rooms had no moutain view, and had to go to the rooftop (5th floor) to experience it. Nonethless, the view at the rooftop is lovely! And there's several of the staff's pets (i'm guessing) roaming around the rooftop area :)
The room itself was huge, beds were huge and comfy as well. There's a voice assistant system in the room as well called ”Xiaobao”. But i guess as we were foreigners and perhaps our accents were different, we could not utilise Xiaobao, which was quite hilarious but thank goodness there's still manual controls in the room. For any housekeeping requests or questions, it's through wechat which was extremely convenient and they are very responsive even in the wee hours of the morning.
There's a few smaller convenience stores around the hotel, and saw some bars but sadly did not have enough time to explore. This hotel is not situated at the main road, but it's just a short 3 min walk till there as some of the bigger vehicles may not be able to enter the small lane where the hotel is at (8-9 seater is still possible).
Will definitely come and stay here again if I'm ever back in the area!

Location was great: Within Lijiang Ancient City and just a 5-min walk to the main road. Stayed during winter season and was glad to know that hot water was consistent. Room was cleaned up daily in the 4 days we stayed there to explore Lijiang and the surrounding areas. Breakfast provided was hearty with a good variety. Reception area is also conveniently located beside a cafe so you can also enjoy a cuppa over breakfast.
Shoutout to the staff who were friendly and responded to our queries in a timely manner. They also helped to link us up to a local tour agency that helped us out with a Jade Dragon Snow Mountain day-trip which we thoroughly enjoyed. This was despite us not having a local Chinese number and only having WeChat as the only communication tool.
All in all, really enjoyed our stay here at Songzhuju (松竹居) and will recommend it to my friends and family who are looking to explore Lijiang.

LLEEWe enjoyed our stay here, so when we returned from Shangri-la to Lijiang, we made a repeat booking at this place. The cleanliness of the place and the friendliness of the staff were the main reasons for our return.
Location: This place is situated near the border of the Lijiang Ancient City. It is close to the main road (2 min walk) which makes it easy to meet your driver for airport transfer or any tour you join. It is also extremely convenient to get to the main attractions such as Mu Residence (5 min) and Zhongyi Night Market (6-8 min). You will be away from the hustle and bustle at night, and get some peace and quiet.
Room: We were lucky that we got a room on the ground floor, as we had very heavy luggage. It would be very difficult to pull them up the stairs if we were on the upper floor. Every room has a different name, and shows that the owners put some thought into giving each of their guests a unique experience. The room we got was of moderate size, with a small sofa area for you to enjoy tea and snacks. There was also a kettle and four cups, and a 5-litre water dispenser that dispensed hot and cold water - I appreciated this, which was more environmentally friendly and generous than other accommodation which gave us 2 bottles of water (500ml each) each every day. The room was also equipped with heating, for the room and the floor, and they were controlled by the front desk. There was also a humidifier. The room's interior decoration was warm and cozy.
Outdoor: We also enjoyed sitting outdoors, idling, gazing at the fish, watching the flowers bloom, while enjoying many cups of tea.
Toilet: It was of decent size, with a shower cubicle that dispensed hot water pretty quickly. They provided us with everything so there's nothing you need to bring: shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, toothbrush, toothpaste, slippers, slippers for shower, towels for body and hair, one-time face towels, hair dryer, body lotion, soap, detergent.
Service: The staff was hospitable, friendly, and the service was impeccable. We enjoyed chatting with them over many cups of tea, and rose pastries. They even recommended travel routes and restaurants to us, which were very good, and we even got discounts or freebies by telling the restaurants where we were staying. It was easy to communicate with the staff on WeChat, they responded promptly, and arranged free airport transfer for us as we stayed more than three nights.
Food: Breakfast was served every morning, which included a bowl of Yunnan mixian (noodles), a steamed bun, a hard-boiled egg, corn, and some spicy preserved vegetables. Every booking came with one serving of afternoon tea, which included rose pastries and a variety of fruits. We arrived after midnight and the staff prepared some rose pastries and fruit for us, in case we would be hungry, which was very thoughtful of them!

TthewandercuratorAs international travellers who don't speak Chinese well, our first experience of Lijiang was made wonderful thanks to our decision to stay at Dublin Inn. Of all the hotels we stayed in throughout our trip, Dublin Inn offered an experience that rivals five-star hotels. First of all, its location outside the North entrance is perfect for those who want to enjoy some peace and quiet after a busy day of exploring Lijiang Ancient Town. It is also a 5-7 minute pleasant walk along the river to the Black Dragon Pond scenic area. We enjoyed free airport pick up and free room upgrade (although we noticed that all their rooms featured five-star comfort and thoughtful touches for travellers). Our suite on the third floor had his and hers sinks, a separate bathtub and rain shower, an electronic bidet toilet, a designer hair dryer, and Perricone MD toiletries. We enjoyed daily in-room minibar, traditional semi-buffet breakfast, afternoon tea and evening dessert treats in the inn's cafe and reading lounge, chatting with fellow travellers. We also loved the tranquil stone garden courtyard with its misty Koi pond. What stood out the most for us were the hospitable Inn staff: we were warmly greeted like old friends over Yunnan Pu'erh tea tasting and rose flower cakes by the reception lady and butler Xiao Hai (小海). Even before we arrive, the Inn staff proactively contacted us via Weixin chat to confirm airport pick up, our meal dietary requirements and to offer information help for travel planning. Throughout our stay, they kept in touch with us through Weixin for daily meal services, housekeeping, evening turndown services and hotel activities like aromatherapy candle making. Butler Xiao Hai was especially friendly and sincere in his interaction with guests. He offered free old town guided visits, arranged Lijiang daytrips and chartered a great driver at reasonable cost for our onward travel to Tiger Leaping Gorge and Shangri-La City. He would stop to ask how our day went and gave insider tips for sightseeing and shopping. We highly recommend Dublin Inn to international travellers who want to experience Lijiang on a more intimate level. We only hope we can return soon to the warmth and hospitality of the Inn. The hair dryer is a Dyson, and the staff are all young handsome men and beautiful women. Especially thank Xiao Hou and Xiao Xu for their care
The homestay also gave us afternoon tea and shampoo. The afternoon tea was very rich, and there were desserts in the evening. The price was really worth it.
There is a special person for taking photos on the rooftop. The little brother has good photography skills~The master who sent the plane was also very nice. I will stay here again next time~

GGuest UserWe traveled to Lijiang in January 2024 and had a chance to visit one homestay inside Lijiang Old Town and loved. We planned to go back to Lijiang again in April and were in searching for that homestay we visited last time. Unfortunately (actually fortunately), we could not find that place in any of the booking platforms. There were many homestays in Trip.com for our consideration and we narrowed down the search to 2 properties. Eventually, we decided to go for Ming He Shu Yuan – Light Luxury Tea Yun Homestay and we have never regretted we choose to stay there.
Our plan was to stay for 2 nights. We then decided to reserve 2 different types of room to experience the differences. The property owner called us to make sure the bookings were correct and explained the arrangement to move our belongings from room to another. Even though it was almost dark, they were expecting us in front of the street and managed to tow our luggage on a bumpy Lijiang walkways. We were welcomed by traditional Yunnan tea and walked us to a spacious and comfortable room which was far nice than was shown in the website. The owner sister, Kongshujing, led us the way to the old town in worried of us getting lost here and there. They prepared a bag full of needed breakfast for us to be able to leave early in the morning and made sure our luggage would be moved to another room before we came back. The second night we stayed in another room type which was again higher than our expectations in all aspects. We were astonished by its nice ambient, designs, and layout of this homestay and rooms we stayed. The house was of course beautiful with nice decoration. The rooms were comfortable with homey-modern style. The furniture and bathroom accessories were well considerate and user-friendly. The automatic room control system has greatly surprised us indeed. Lastly, we enjoyed the breakfast served inside the tea room. Trillion thanks to the hospitality with every single details provided. We totally fell in love with your house and will definitely be back.

once you get that place, you might be noticed that this hostel is a bit far from Lijiang old town
but trust me, you will not like Lijiang old town
it is too commercialized to feel the Nasi culture, and literally you will be in the middle of human waves, especially at night(cuz night food market is just next to it)
Whilst this hostel is located nearest Suhe old town
around 2 min away by foot
if gate keeper ask you to pay entrance fare ( I never been asked)
just take a detour, you don't need to pay
also, baisha old town is also close, 10 RMB by taxi
hostel owner Willy ( not sure about spelling)
he speaks very good English, if you have any questions, he's willing to help you
also other staffs are very friendly and nice👍
even there's two cutest cats! ( just if you have cat allergy, be aware of them, they only stay inside of reception room )
the other things you should know is, if you want to visit Jade dragon snow mountain by public transportation such as bus 🚌, you need to take another bus( bus station is just in front of hostel ) to chongyi market ( better need to take the bus here rather than other stations ), and the first bus of the day departs around 8:50 from hostel side
so if you want to see earliest Jade dragon mountain, you better need to book an tour program or take 7 persons mini van or Taxi
second thing is, I was in the 10 person's dorm
and the shower room is inside of dorm, room condition is not 100% perfect, apart from your bed, so if you are the one that cannot sleep easily, maybe not a good choice for you, plus around 8 am, the town has a bit loud sound of Nasi style Azan songs, I woke up by that Azan sound 1 ~ 2 times
but all the same, if i have a nice chance, I would comeback to this hostel, probably for long term stay in the future with my partner

RREGAL johnWe had an excellent stay at Lijiang Zheyuan Snow Mountain Villa.
The villa is brand new and very clean and spacious.
The location is very good as it is a 4 minute walk to several breakfast spots and 8 minutes to Shuhe Ancient Town. We prefer this area because it was peaceful, quiet at night for sleeping, in walking distance to several services and not as overwhelming and crowded as Lijiang. However, Lijiang Old Towne is just a 15 minute ride.
The best part of our stay was the host. He was extremely helpful with directions, travel ideas, arrangements, restaurant recommendations and more. His help, guidance and hospitality was exemplary.
If you are going to Lijiang I highly recommend staying here.

GGuest UserService: The boss is very enthusiastic and the service is very good. We arrived at the store relatively late, and they came out to greet us. The necessary items will be delivered as soon as possible.
Environment: The courtyard is very clean, comfortable and quiet.
Facilities: We specially booked a room with floor heating (the heating was turned on for us in advance) and there was an electric blanket on the bed, so we could sleep warmly.

WWaltersThe hotel is a little away from the old town (about 20 mins drive), but it is near the exit from the highway, for those driving in. The area is still under construction, so lacks charm. The first impression of the lobby also does not give off a very classy vibe. It is an enormous hanger with lots of stuff dotted around, and no clear flow. There is also a crappy tea shop shoved into the corner that looks like it is taken from a cheap, regional Chinese airport. So not the greatest check in impressions.
The hotel is really new, so the corridors and rooms are in great shape, and well up to standard for the money. We were also able to pay 138 RMB each for the full dinner buffet in the exec lounge, which was delicious, and had a great range of foods.
Good view of Yulong snow mountain from the hotel too.
There are some rough around the edges parts in common areas, but the hotel parts are very nice, and recommended.

GGuest UserIt was an excellent and relaxing trip. the Boutique Inn where I stayed for 8 days was fantastic; the owner was very helpful and helped me to arrange local attractions. he also ensured that I was safe since I was alone travelling to Lijiang. The Inn where I stayed was very safe and the people were very friendly. I will book the same Inn to stay again next year as I have plans to visit Shangalila. Yunnan is such a zen, relaxing, with great scenic and no air pollution! :)

Room condition is very good. Suitable for family groups or groups of friends or couples. 2nd floor view overlooking the old city and surrounding atmosphere. Clean. There is a common area to accommodate customers.
The staff are smiling and cheerful. Gives advice and answers questions about Lijiang tourism very well.
I will come back and stay here again!! 🩷🩷
