Great location. Close to most city's attractions but not too close. Located in front of small quiet neighborhood park/plaza. Great service. At front desk and at restaurant/bar. Breakfast quality is first class. Room a little on the small side but like any other hotel in any European capital city. Bathroom very good size. Attention to detail in hotel is top notch. Overall highly recommended hotel.

I travel constantly. This is one of my all-time favorites anywhere. It’s both comfortable and elegant. The staff are incredibly sweet. Breakfast is actually good. Small rooms more than made up for by everything else (but no smaller than many other European and NYC hotel rooms).

We stayed at this hotel for two nights in April as part of a short break in Portugal, and I must say, we were extremely disappointed. We had been swayed by the positive reviews of this establishment, and we bitterly regretted it. The owner might be an expert in creating a beautiful website, but the reality is starkly different. Our initial room was tiny, with a wall just one meter from the window and the ventilation systems below. After long negotiations, we were moved to another very dark and small room, and in the evening, we were constantly disturbed by people having drinks just below our windows. In Portugal, a €300 room is relatively expensive. For comparison, we stayed in three five-star hotels during our trip, all much cheaper and of far superior quality. The owner, with whom I had a lengthy conversation, offered a cocktail as a gesture of accommodation, which we didn't even want. The only positives were the very nice chambermaids and the good breakfast. Beyond that, there was no valet parking, no help with luggage, and no amenities. If you want advice, steer clear and don't be misled by the reviews.

We have just returned from a four night stay at the Hotel das Amorerias. When booking the only room choice available for us was the Deluxe Courtyard room and although the room was fairly small it was finished to such a high standard. Our bed was a standard double but was extremely comfortable with luxurious bedding. There is a small open wardrobe area to hang clothes, with two open shelves. We had seriously overpacked so the area looked messy. There is also nowhere to store suitcases so these were just in the corner of the room for our stay. The bathroom was of a decent size with a large walk in shower that had both overhead and handheld water supply. The toiletries that were replenished every day were Penhaligon (Blenheim Bouquet) and the maid came in twice a day, in the morning to clean and make the beds etc, and in the evening to offer a turndown service and replace towels again. The hotel was fully booked for our stay and I must say, the soundproofing was amazing. We never once heard another guest from our room. Downstairs, after reception there is a small seating area with comfortable chairs and books to read. Further through you come to the bar and breakfast area. This also spills out into the small but wonderful courtyard. Most mornings, we are our breakfast out in the courtyard. Breakfast was delicious. Small but perfectly presented dishes. The choice included breads and croissants, yogurts and fruit, a variety of egg based dishes and extras including spinach or crispy bacon. I will miss the breakfasts now I am back at home! The hotel offer a handful of snack choices for throughout the day and evening, this is quite limited, but what we did have was very good and really reasonably priced. We sat in the courtyard with drinks before heading out to dinner and sampled wines and cocktails. The bar man even made cocktails for us not on the menu. I highly recommend the hotel add the bramble to the menu as the one made for me was absolutely delicious! The staff were all very pleasant and hard working, a credit to the hotel. If you are looking for a small hotel, with great attention to detail and luxurious surroundings, then this hotel is for you. I would not hesitate to return to this hotel or recommend it to friends and family and I hope that next time we stay, one of the attic rooms are available for our dates. Thank you to the management and staff for a wonderful stay.

I recently returned from Portugal and had to write this review. Everything about this hotel was exceptional.. The owners attention to detail showed in every corner , from the napkins at breakfast, to the wonderful smell from the candle upon entering. I was there with my sister and we both felt very peaceful and well taken care of. Isabel at the front desk was always available and extremely helpful in anything we needed. One night we had a lovely conversation with Frederico at the bar drinking our port after a neighborhood dinner. It truly felt like we were at friends home. We liked it so much we spent my last night in Lisbon there. Looking forward to returning soon. We stayed in a deluxe garden room and also the attic room(which was very spacious) The rooms are lovely and compact, if you can splurge for an attic room I highly recommend.

We had a wonderful stay. The staff were so lovely and kind to my 6 yr old son; generously drying our clothes and shoes after torrential rain. Super comfy bed and delicious breakfast; so many choices. The neighbourhood park is great. Thank you.
