We stayed at Mrs Blodget's for 2 nights whilst visiting our son who is studying at university in Liverpool. I'd already read in reviews about the confusing check-in so I had emailed ahead for clarification, the response from the Epic team was that the check-in location was central to all of their apartments.... ???... that was it, no address was given or location of the check-in building. I then called the office and was told that the easiest way was to go to the Merchant pub on the street behind the apartment and it was next to that.... except... the Merchant pub doesn't have a sign on it saying it's the Merchant! After some roaming around we found it and checked in. This is a recurring problem for people and it needs addressing, perhaps include a map or better directions on booking. Whilst we were at the apartment another family turned up who had also been unable to find the check-in building. After a quick check-in we were given keys for room 105, a lovely space with a large L shaped sofa, however the heating thermostat wasn't working and it was a freezing night, so we had to call the office again. Someone quickly came over with keys to room 205. The decor in the apartment is lovely and is exactly as in the photos, however this room didn't have the lovely L shaped sofa as in the first room. I feel like Mrs. Blodget's could actually be spot on with a few inexpensive tweaks. For instance, there is a small hallway as you enter, an ideal place to leave your big bulky winter coats, but there's no hooks in there. The bed was nice and comfortable with decent bedding and towels but the street noise was really bad even on a Monday and Tuesday night. The windows didn't seem to fully close so the noise was a definite issue for me. There is plenty of storage in the bedroom but as I often find in hotels/apartments there were no socket close enough to the mirror to dry your hair. In fact I couldn't find sockets in the bedroom at all. The dining table had a wobbly top so cutting food on it meant everyone's drinks were spilling. The kitchen had only the absolute essentials, no salt and pepper, no tea towel and not even oven gloves! The extractor fan wasn't working in the bathroom. There were 2 small bottles of shampoo left, but no shower gel or hand soap, and no bath mat. Again some extra hooks in there for drying towels would have been useful. The location of the apartment is great, central to all the bars, restaurants and shopping. Plenty of parking is close by. Unfortunately the bar in Mrs. Blodget's wasn't open on the Monday or Tuesday. So overall a bit of a mixed review, we got a good deal through Secret Escapes, however all these small ******* might have irked me more had I paid full price for the stay. I probably wouldn't stay again purely because of the traffic noise rather than because of the other issues.

Stayed at the weekend for a couples night away and was unreal! Check in was so cool with music playing and we even had a welcome drink - really relaxed atmosphere and personal. Apartment was beautiful - decor was spot on and so quirky. Location was great as just a short walk from all the bars / shops etc.

I arrived and was extremely impressed by the friendly welcome from Kevin, he told me about the property and who Mrs Blodget was. After being shown to our room. We quickly got ready and went down to experience the amazing "secret bar" Wow! What a place, from the drinks to the venue we did not want to leave. We had such a great night here and the friendly staff recommended on where to go afterwards. Thank you to you all for making our stay even better,

I had high hopes for Mrs Blodget’s, and am sad to say I was left a little disappointed. However I must stress that the staff were excellent in assisting us and went out of their way to put things right. However, I think it’s important that our experience is fed back. We stayed in June 2022. Firstly, we arrived at the hotel and were then told we needed to walk 5 minutes down the road to check in at what appeared to be the head reception for all the company’s hotels. Upon returning to MB’s and checking in, I realised the room wasn’t the one I’d booked - which was the Hawthorne Suite. Unfortunately, on ringing reception, no one seemed to know what the Hawthorne Suite was. As mentioned, the reception team investigated and found that some of the other rooms were empty, and we could choose an alternative that matched the photos on the website. This was helpful and appreciated. But none of the rooms at MB’s are named, just numbered - which doesn’t match with how the hotel is ‘branded’ or the anticipation of the experience that was suggested by the website. I was also expecting to find the rooms filled with antiques and unique finds (again as stated on the website) but instead it was filled with pretend gold bars and a number of seemingly mass produced identical vases and cushions. There was an antique trunk in the living room positioned on top of the kitchen cabinets and some vintage books - not quite the promise of curated items found travelling the world - again, the feel just didn’t match the website. Sadly, the welcome tray hadn’t been replenished and there was a box of ice creams left behind in the freezer by another guest. The bathroom wasn’t as clean as it should have been. I understand this may have been because we were moved from the room we checked in to - but the lady that moved us was assured the new room was ready for guests. I’d also hoped to learn more about Mrs Blodget and the building and an ‘about’ book in the room would be a nice touch, perhaps with some suggestions on where to go out to in Liverpool. We made the most of our stay and I didn’t want to complain at the time because the booking was for a special birthday and it would have upset my partner and caused an atmosphere. But MB’s could be really great with a few small tweaks, and I think this should be fed back, which is why I’ve taken the time to write this. An apartment branded and priced the way it is raises a certain level of expectation. As I said - the reception staff and bar staff at MB’s were excellent - this doesn’t need improvement at all!

Recently stayed at Mrs Blodgets! This property is full of character! Upon entering the Hotel we was greeted by a friendly member of staff who shown us to our room. On our way to the room, we was told the history of the building and who Mrs Blodgets really was…. ( he even explained how certain features worked once inside the room) after we was all checked in we went down to the bar area. The R&B Vibe was incredible! The next morning we had breakfast at Mason’s on Seel Street. (Less than 5 minutes away!) the food quality and service was excellent! Organised by the hotel this was great value for money. Thank you to all the team at Mrs Blodgets for making our stay memorable

Yesterday afternoon we celebrated my daughters baby shower with afternoon tea at Mrs Blodgets, she didnt want a big fuss so a smaller gathering with close family and friends was ideal. I came across venue when looking for place to host shower by chance and seemed perfect and I wasnt dissapointed. I cannot fault afternoon, place is lovely and quirky, right up my daughters street and mine, the afternoon tea is not your traditional idea of sandwiches n scones etc but smoking chests per guest with 5 delicious small cakes this suited us all, quality not quantity. They allowed us to dress venue with ballons n bring favours to make special. The staff on duty, a girl and guy that i did not find out names of unfortunately, were so helpful and I cant thank them enough especially the girl, hope she doesnt mind that reference, she gave such amazing service and cant thank her enough for her attentitiveness to guests at shower. Thank you so much to Mrs Blodgets venue and staff for making my daughters baby shower a perfect afternoon.

Appalling. hotel is being renovated so smells of glue and paint, room the TV won’t work reception “call maintenance in the morning” no good when you staying for one night and just want to chill! 2 coat hangers so no where to hang clothes for a family of 3, blood in the bathroom, with 2 small tubes of shower/shampoo, room smelt of chlorine from the bathroom which we did mange to wash away. Over all absolutely rubbish! Oh and no phone so if you need reception you have to go downstairs.

Wow! If you are looking for a warm, luxury, overnight stay with wonderful bedrooms/suite within Liverpool 10 min walk to almost every bar in the city and docks this has got to be your first choice. I was very tempted to stay in and not go out as it is so nice in there.
