Stayed here for a night away so wasn’t expecting to much as we only really wanted a nice sleep with having 2 babies at home. The hotel was a pleasant surprise when we arrived, didn’t look into it to much so to see the front and the reception we were quite impressed. The room we got was a good size and the shower was amazing if I’m honest. Staff at the desk were young (but as are we) so we found them lovely. The only points I would maybe say that we didn’t enjoy were the fact the windows were so small due to a big black arch of wall (again we didn’t look into the look of the hotel to much before booking so just didn’t expect it). The lighting in the room was awful and we found that slightly annoying (again possibly to do with the decor and vibe they were going with). The TV didn’t work very well the signal was awful for all the channels and we also expected based off the description to have a coffee maker, but only had a kettle. However our main annoyance was the bed- we booked it for a king room (queen bed), we didn’t expect it to be two beds pushed together. So I had an awful sleep and woke up with terrible back pains. I’m sure if we had maybe called to speak to someone about it they hopefully would have done something if they could have but it was late in the night and we just dealt with it. It was ok for what we wanted it for but I don’t think I would book again.

Key wouldn’t work so they gave us a different one that also didn’t work. Employee let us into our room and suggested we ask staff to let us in if we go out! Unfortunately you need the card to work the electrics!! We tried our key in the next rooms door and it opened it ?!! We asked for another key to have lights and finally that worked. Tv doesn’t work!! Room extremely hot with no way of cooling down. Our daughter’s room wouldn’t lock so they had to move to another!! Staff very friendly but completely clueless and hotel shabby. Shower also leaked all over floor

Fabulous hotel, absolutely spotless. Rooms are a great size, bed was comfy, would highly recommend. Guy on reception was fab and we will be back soon. Great for business trips and couples. Loved the electric blinds and shower was great too.

Great base, friendly staff and a comfortable room. Worked in the bar area during the day and the WiFi worked well Room was quiet and spotless, loved the design touches - so much nicer than a bland chain hotel Couldn't ask for better value, will be back.

We didn’t enjoy our stay at all. It was a hot weekend and there’s not even a fan in the room and leaving the window open did not cool anything despite the room been extremely small. Small bed, fridge smelt of off milk and didn’t work. Neither did the two sockets at the table or the TV. Rang down reception twice at 10pm and nobody answered. The bar was run by a load of kids who were unwelcoming and it only had one lager on. Car park over the road looked dodgy and for me it was a little too far out of the town. I complained to ********** who said they couldn’t get hold of the owner. I wouldn’t stay again.

Third time i've stopped here The rooms are good with a quirky design and there's a bar attached to the hotel and a small bar directly opposite. Check in and out was straight forward and the staff were pleasant and friendly. The city centres only a short walk away. Will definatley stay again.

Booked room for three adults. Room made up for two. Pointed this out, advised would be ready on our return later in evening . It was not. 2am and had to get bed linen and make up our own room. Not enough food towels or glasses. Nothing replenished following day ran out of toilet paper, milk etc. Beds not made. .Food Not served after 4pm Advertises cocktails, don't serve them. Been here three times bit won't return overpriced for such poor service.

Have wanted to stay here for a while Disappointed Dirty, in need of an update, everywhere. Very dark, however , does not disguise that this hotel desperately needs a deep clean, / refurbishment So disappointed, after wanting to stay here for a long time! Young, young staff. Not a problem if they are efficient/ professional, (they were not) Yes , we were early checking in, didn't expect the room to be ready/ very happy to have drinks/ lunch in the rough pub that is attached to the hotel Awful lunch. Roasted mushroom soup , oily, microherbs, no seasoning, sourdough bread, which I hate. Onto the room Good size, only good thing Miniscule bathroom, generic hand wash , poor quality ,Mugler? No fan in the bathroom, steamy? I am not tall, could not see in the bathroom or bedroom mirrors? Everywhere so dark? Supposed to be luxury? No shampoo/conditioner/ body lotion etc? Mini bar had 2 bottles of poor quality warm water in there? Staff need training in professionalism_/ smarten up/ be interested in people/ care? Bedroom was ridiculously hot as no air con? Sub standard/ malfunctioning fan? Really poor food. Welsh rarebit for breakfast disgusting/ full of 'micro' herbs? HATE sourdough bread! Fruit juice served in mini milk bottles? No glasses provided? Hated my stay here, so disappointed. At no point did any of the staff ask how food options were? Our room? Facilities? If you want to stay somewhere where you can party/ not eat good food/ or be in a good, safe area/ substandard service/ so dark that you cannot see to put your makeup on/ risk of falling over everything/ be so hot that your body mass goes into meltdown, enjoy staying here!!
