We had reserved in advance for full afternoon tea in their front lounge. The service was very nicely done. A sampler box of tea was brought out, with small jars that one could open and smell, and then choose which tea to have. The tea and tiered savories, scones, and sweets were very delicious! They nicely accommodated with alternatives for one in our party who has allergies. The room was very lovely but they did not set it up well for the comfort for our group of 5. Three were crowded on a low small squishy sofa in front of a fireplace with two in chairs at either side. The small coffee table between us all was not large enough for the tea service and tiered treats. So smaller tables were crowded in at sides making it difficult to serve tea and reach the tiered trays and also very difficult to make one’s way when needed for the toilet. In retrospect, I think they could have seated us nicely in the window seat with tables and facing chairs. The concierge was very obliging in arranging a taxi for our return to Bourton-on-Water. Note: some of the younger ones in our party walked from our hotel in Bourton-on-Water, which our host had told us it was an easy 30 min walk on well-marked paths - however it turned out to be nearly an hour and the paths were not easy to identify.
