This property is the "old-fashion" style of the motels where one can drive up to the office to check in, and then park at the door of your room. It's convenient, not far off the interstate and very near the downtown without being in the hub-bub of its busy-ness. The grounds are spacious and very well kept. My room was small but sufficient for 1 or 2 people. It was a bit of a mishmash of furniture which is the usual for an older motor inn, but all in great shape, very clean and had a microwave, small fridge, coffee maker and nice toiletries. The check-in was very smooth; the gentleman at the desk was warm and welcoming, and had some good recommendations. Dollar for dollar in Mackinaw City, at this time of peak tourist travel, this property is a great value!

What do the pictures not tell you? We had rented three rooms, after a long day on the island. ALL three rooms had mattresses with bloody bed bug remnants, and essentially no sheet. Imagine waking up to this little treat: a revolting mattress with you lying right on it. And, no, the hotel would not refund our money. Zero stars. Do not recommend.

Rooms were clean and property was quiet. Facility is overdue for maintenance. Bathroom floor was covered wall to wall with one large piece of linoleum to cover warped wooden floor underneath . You could feel the dips and spacing between as you walked. Bathtub needs new sealant, and beds need new mattresses. A place to relax is why people rent rooms. These things made it uncomfortable. Staff was nice, convenient location, check in and out was easy.

This property shares a front desk with at least two other hotels. This makes for a cumbersome and lengthy checkout. Parking is cramped and can be difficult to navigate. The rooms are small, and definitely past their prime. The good news - it's super cheap. If you're in the Straits for a day or two and just need a place to grab a little sleep between activities, this can work.

The rooms were not dusted, we had a black widow with a nest in our room! Cobwebs in room over lights. The locks did not feel safe at all. The beds where very uncomfortable and not a lot of blankets and pillow options. Very dry room. Did not feel safe there. Not a lot of delivery options available or dining options around. Nothing wanted to deliver to these hotels. There was a piece of an old molded chicken nugget or something behind the bed. I wont be choosing those hotels again at least the Starlite Hotel! Ever!
