Riviera Motel

This motel is very sweet and has an awesome view of the Mackinaw Bridge. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would be delighted to stay again. The staff are all very friendly and helpful-our requests were responded to promptly. It's refreshing to stay in at smaller place with a lovely lake view. A charming and quiet location, close to everything, and well maintained.

Nicely decorated and clean rooms. Small refrigerator was a nice added bonus although no microwave in room. Would stay again - nice view of Mackinac Bridge and short walk to the beach. Nice parking area close to rooms. For an older building they have done a great job with updates and decorations.

Location is great. But that’s about it. Outside there is a lot of maintenance that needs to be done. The building needs an overhaul. Inside , old rooms and dark. No hanging space, counter space or toiletry space in the bathroom. Light above bathroom sink didn’t work until I bumped it. However when I shut of the switch, the light stayed on. I had to bump the light again to turn it off. Not worth the money.

This a cute place on the water with a scenic view of the Mackinaw Bridge. The bed was comfortable, soft bedsheets, and room clean. Chocolates were left on the pillow by the motel owners. We got lucky and saw the monthly fireworks from our balcony.

The room is clean. A little pricey. There is a couple of downfalls. The shower does not have any shelves to put your shampoo and soap. The beds are standard full size not queen. They do not offer breakfast. I would suggest if you have an elderly person with you to get a bottom floor room, there is no elevator. The view from our room was spectacular. Easy walking distance to downtown. It is located next door to Michlimacinaw Park

My wife and i came to Mackinaw city for my 60th birthday. This was the 3rd year in a row and was fortunate enough to visit but had never stayed in this motel. The bridge view alone looked wonderful so we booked a 2 night stay. I highly anticipated walking in to this motel office and meeting the original owners and asking many questions about there long ownership run. To my disappoint the original owners are not here anymore and with that goes a much different approach to ownership. My wife and i during our many years of traveling seek out these special places as they are becoming increasing hard to find. Our room had bathroom fittings that would not stop leaking along with windows with no screens and 1 community microwave outside in a wood enclosure (something i would have never even dreamed possible)My point to all this is the attention to detail built out of pride of ownership is long gone

I was very concerned about cleanliness and didn’t want to stay in an old motel. I read so many reviews regarding it and other places. I’m so happy I booked. Check in was very nice and even let us add another night. Our room was so clean. And actually nice size for a family of four. We loved the view of the bridge. And having our car right under our window. If I go back, I’d ask for the corner room. We met some people who stay there every year. It was a bit bigger. Quiet. Close to the little rocky beach. My kids swam in the lake. And in the pool. It was a small pool, but, kids didn’t mind. Hands down it was worth the price. I don’t like pets in rooms before me. (Pee and gross carpets/floors. That you can’t see) This motel doesn’t allow pets! Yay. That was a huge plus. Also, no smoking. Another plus. No mold in the bathroom either.

We stayed here for 2 nights during the off season. It was nice. Clean, cozy rooms that have a view of the Mighty Mac. We were able to walk down to the water and also walking downtown wasn’t bad. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip up there.

Booked with Riviera a month before our Michigan Road Trip. Got a text and email to confirm and then a friendly text the day before saying they were looking forward to us staying with them. Nice touch. I did my research and Riviera is by far one of the best motels in town. We arrived early and met Roman who is so very nice. He allowed us early check in as our room was just done. The office is all decked out for Halloween and looks awesome. Smells so clean and fresh too. Complimentary coffee offered as well. Our room was all we needed for our 2 night stay. Step in shower with plenty of hot water and great water pressure! Rare in a motel. They have Dove shampoo and soap such a nice touch. Most places have no name brands that are gross. A cute little bix of chocolates is left on the bed for guests. Another nice touch. The bed was comfy and clean. We slept well. The views from the balcony and the window at the opposite side of the room were fantastic of the bridge and the lake. The room was freshly made up and smelled so clean. It is an older motel but they have done a great job updating it. The motel was fully booked so that right there says plenty. For a place that is closing down for the season in a week, you would never know. It is really well kept. We will definitely return and thank you for a lovely stay.
