Nothing wrong with hotel. The rooms were a large for a Capitol city hotel and very clean. The hotel lacked any amenities but offered breakfast next door (which added to the experience). The location is good but not in the central downtown area. It has excellent access to the tube and bus routes. We normally like to walk back to our hotels. This one took 25 minutes from the centre Sol. All down hill and mostly along a busy main road. The hotel was quiet but the area was rather run down with lots of homeless people around the rail station. The hotel was reasonably good value. If I wanted something in the centre at the same price I would probably be looking at a hostal or book well in advance. I must add, the staff in the Acta Madfor were most helpful and friendly

I have stayed in many hostels before but at TOC it was the first time I stayed in a shared room ( female only). I was a bit worried as I didn't know what to expect but it turned out great. The hostel is awesome, has friendly staff and is the most modern hostel I have ever stayed in. The rooms were quite nicely soundproofed as you couldn't hear much from the hallways as it is usual for other hostels. In my 6 bed female room, we had 2 toilets, 2 sinks, and 2 showers - it was enough. :) I will be coming back, definitely!

The location of the hotel is very good, very close to Plaza de Espana, but the square is under renovation. It's a short walk to Montana River Park, and you can also walk to the Royal Palace and Puerta del Sol in about twenty minutes. The room is not large. It is more like a domestic high-end business hotel. Toothbrushes and slippers need to be obtained from the front desk. Breakfast plus 17 euros can be enjoyed, there are many choices. There is a supermarket and laundry room in Diadia nearby, which is very convenient. Children can stay for free if they do not require an extra bed.

We stayed at the Hotel Opera recently for the second time, to celebrate a special Wedding Anniversary. We had an absolutely wonderful time. The hotel is centrally located, right next to the Opera House and close to all the attractions of central Madrid. We had nothing but excellent service from the staff throughout our whole stay - they are very responsive and helpful. The room is spacious, clean and comfortable with everything you need including a few little extras like a comb and shoeshine. Breakfast was excellent every morning, a great choice of English-style and continental offerings, The Spanish tortilla and home-made fruit tarts are particularly recommended. You need to book breakfast at a specific time, and this avoids the ”scrum” that some previous reviewers have described. Just two things prevent me giving a 5-star review. First of all it is some time since the hotel was refurbished so some of the fittings are starting to look a little tired. Secondly the cafe has changed since we were last there, it used to be possible to get tapas-style snacks from a counter display 24/7, now it is table service with hot food only available when the kitchen is open - in the evening it starts serving at 8pm which is a little late for us, so if you feel the same you need to go out to one of the many good tapas bars around. But overall we love this hotel and will certainly revisit!

The location of the Hotel Princesa Plaza was excellently situated for viewing main attractions in the city, especially since there was a metro stop right by the hotel and various bus stops. Travelling by bus and metro is very straight forward, buses accept credit card payments and in the metro you can purchase a travel card from a machine which can be read in English. This card can be topped up using a credit card for any journeys needed and the metro lines operate like underground systems anywhere, making sure you get on the correct line. It was also easy to walk a short distance to many of the attractions and the weather was warm and dry during our stay. The Spring or Autumn are the most comfortable months to visit Madrid weather wise as temperatures are around 25 degrees centigrade and evenings are great for eating outside in the Al fresco cafe culture. I believe winter months can be cold and the summer temperatures are very hot. The hotel is very comfortable and clean. Staff are friendly and helpful, many of them speak English very well and can give useful advice. The breakfast buffet is substantial and I would recommend paying for this when booking a room to save having to pay separately and sign a receipt each time we ate, as we had to do. The bedroom was spacious with two large beds which were very comfortable. The air conditioning worked very well and the room temperature was lovely. The bathroom facilites were excellent with two sinks which gave my wife and I one each to use. There was a double headed shower and a bath with hot water swiftly available. There is a mini fridge and a safe in the room too. There is a restaurant on the ground floor which has various seating areas, including an outside area which is set back from the main street although this does mean it doesn’t really have a view. There is a swimming pool and fitness centre accessible to hotel guests but run separately to the hotel and my only real complaint of the place is that the hours for which guests could go swimming were rather limited. There is an underground, secure car park at the hotel which was very useful. There is also a large shopping centre next door to the hotel, and the car park is also for the shopping centre, although the hotel part is separated off with an electric gate. The shopping centre has a very well stocked supermarket which is very useful for buying any food or drink you may want during trips around the city. I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Madrid and I look forward to going back there again myself.

Best hotel in Madrid regardless if you come on holidays or on work. As the motto goes everything is set for work and play. Very central location only a walk to the old town Plaza Mayor and the nice Latina and Letras districts thus next to M30 and 10 minutes to Atocha main station. Bus stop at the door and Metro down the road. Parking on site. Nice, spacey, modern rooms, excellent breakfast, lots of spaces to work , excellent breakfast and food ( with daily menu), wonderful top roof bar and pool with view to the Palacio Real and super friendly and helpful staff. Best value for money and lots of fun. Working never felt so playful. Definitively the place to go regardless is biz or pleasure.

I booked this property mostly due to the access to the pool. Much to my dismay on check-in, I was told that the pool only opened from June 1 - Sept 30. This wasn't stated on the 3rd party site. The mattress was rock hard! For the first time in my life I had to place a pillow under my hips in the middle of my first night as the surface was too painful. Aside from that, the rooms are large, clean and the hotel is well-maintained. The fitness room was also well-appointed. The hotel is located in a nice, quiet neighborhood, mostly residential.

This was our first stay at the Principe Pio Hotel, we booked a room with a Palace view. On arrival we were upgraded to a top floor suite by very friendly staff on reception. The room was delightful and looked like it had recently been decorated. We had terrific views of the Palace. The room was kept in tip top shape on a daily basis and nothing too much trouble for the staff. One minor gripe was the mattress was a little firm for our tastes. Our first night was inadvertently spent with the windows ajar and it could be noisy as it’s on a main road combined with the peacocks calling from the palace garden. From then on with the windows closed it was absolutely fine, the aircon worked very well and was whisper quiet. Although this is classed as a 3* hotel we had a safe, fridge and tea making facilities to make our stay really comfortable. There is a roof terrace with plenty of seating to enjoy the sunshine too.

GGuest UserWe had a fantastic stay at the Crowne Plaza. The room was comfortable and modern. The bed was enormous, largest I've seen and beyond a king bed. We joked that we could have fit 4 people on it. The pillows were also fluffy and shapely. There is a mini fridge that were able to use to store cheese. The bathrooms have fig products. While I wasn't a fan of the scent, it didn't linger and Crowne Plaza is not stingy about products. There is hand soap and body lotion next to the sink. Body wash, shampoo, and conditioner are in the shower. This hotel also has tissues (a rarity in Spanish hotels) and soft 2-ply toilet paper. Minor touches but they definitely elevate the experience. The towels smelled clean and there were glasses for use throughout the room. The only feedback was the staff wasn't very welcoming or helpful. We checked in late and the night receptionist seemed bothered to see us and didn't have any suggestions for where to eat. We later asked if there's a channel that has the Real Madrid football match and they had no idea. We checked out early in the morning, around 7am, and there was a wait when the receptionist prioritized check-ins but who checks in at 7am? He forgot to email the invoice and when I emailed for it, that took 2 tries and almost a week to get it.

The lobby, restaurant, and garden are all elegantly and meticulously decorated, but the room is a bit crowded for us as a family of three, and the room facilities are average. My favorite is the restaurant, both indoor and outdoor, the restaurant environment and food are of high quality. In addition, the location is very good, very close to the main attractions in the old city (Madrid Royal Palace, Puerta del Sol, Plaza España), ten minutes walk, but please pay attention to driving, this is a restricted area in the old city. The service is good, the waiters are very warm and friendly.

GGuest UserAs a Marriott Titanium / Lifetime Platinum Elite Guest, our family [husband, wife and two young daughters] decided to visit Madrid, Spain to start our month-long 2023 summer vacation in Europe. We spent five (5) nights at Westin Palace Madrid using our Bonvoy points in late May / early June 2023. Please see the thirty-eight (38) photos we posted with this review of all aspects of the hotel. Within days after making our five (5) night stay using Marriott Bonvoy points approximately ten (10) months prior to our arrival date, we emailed General Manager, Pablo Flores and advised him of our future stay as well as our special requests, including our request for an Executive Suite, which would comfortably host our family of four. Within hours of our email, we received a thoughtful reply Paloma Hidalgo, Director of Rooms, whom immediately provided us with a complimentary guaranteed upgrade to an Executive Suite and further, Ms. Hidalgo readily granted all of our other special requests. The prompt response did not come as a surprise to us given how active the management of this property is in reading and promptly replying to past guests on Trip Advisor as well as the Marriott Bonvoy website, which is but a mere sign of management’s commitment to exemplary customer service. Not surprisingly, we were overjoyed with such a response and really looked forward to our future stay at The Westin Palace Madrid. This gorgeous historic hotel is magnificently located in Madrid overlooking the Neptune Fountain and less than a three minute walk to the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum, less than a five minute walk to the Prado Museum and less than a ten minute walk to the Reina Sofia Museum. It is also extremely close to Retiro Park and is within an easy 15 minute walk to Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor and the Gran Via as well as many bars, restaurant, trendy cafés, market and other cultural attractions. You can easily walk everywhere throughout the entire city but public transportation options abound in close proximity to the hotel as well. Our initial visit to the Westin Palace Madrid did not disappoint, especially when the hotel accommodated our extremely early check-in (before 9:00 am). The check-in process with Ms. Hidalgo, Estefanía Martinez, Front Office Assistant Manager and Juan at the reception desk was a breeze. Further, Ms. Martinez was kind enough to personally escort us to our suite and show us all of the features and amenities of same. This was very thoughtful on the part of Ms. Martinez and very much appreciated. Throughout our entire five (5) night stay, Ms. Hidalgo and Ms. Martinez were especially helpful and friendly. We simply loved our Palace Executive Suite with slightly over 1,000 square feet in total space with a sublime view of the Neptune Fountain; it was truly remarkable. GGuest UserGreat location, very nice breakfast, there is also a Starbucks right outside the enterance which is nice. Literally a two minute walk to Gran Via street where you can find anything you could possibly need. The staff was polite, the rooms were clean and very quiet at least on the 5th floor :) Overall would recommend and come back again. Gracias Madrid!

GGuest UserEl hotel es nuevo y el personal se esfuerza por dar un buen servicio. Camas cómodas y habitaciones aisladas. Viajamos con persona en silla de ruedas y el hotel está totalmente adaptado. El hotel está en un polígono y no hay nada cerca. No ofrecen comidas salvo unos bocadillos. Este es un tema en el que deben mejorar. En el baño también deberían poner algo más de luz . En general una estancia agradable para pasar un día de tránsito.

Exceptionally clean, really friendly and attentive staff, good atmosphere in the downstairs bar area and on the roof bar, good breakfast and very comfy, well equipped room. Wasn’t too sure initially about the area but we soon felt very comfortable and found some great bars and restaurants locally off the tourist trail. Great location for walking to the centre, La Latina, El Rastro, the park (El Retiro), the art galleries and metro/train connections. Loved Madrid.

GGuest UserRoom was nice but I expected much more interesting decor from the ads. Area was very subdued, I think the restaurant was closed, maybe because of off season. Bed was comfortable and room was adequate. Liked the room darkening shades. Front desk help very nice and helpful with transportation questions. Overall harder to get to than I needed.

DDr. T The TravelerTo start my review I will point out the positive things which were unfortunately not that many.
The hotel is well located to most everything in Madrid via Metro or walking distance to all restaurants and shopping wishing the center of town. Great foodie destinations and shopping are close by, and that’s where the positive comments will stop.
Upon checking in the first signs of poor service were obviously there. They mentioned that because I booked via the “App” Trip.com or other then we would not be considered like others who booked via their own site or preferred partners.
The room was on the first floor and next to the housekeeper room which was non-stop and especially first thing early morning was my alarm clock at 7am everyday whilst on my vacation, so clearly not a a good thing.
Second and another very important issue was the A/C which didn’t work correctly and was making noise, the room was warm and humid the whole time, I mentioned to the reception within 10min of checking in, 4 nights and nothing was done to improve or correct this issue.
Any request or comment was never taken in a professional, responsible or respectful way. As I was on a well deserved vacation I didn’t want to get angry and cause more stress to myself, but I was clear that I would not let this pass without commenting on it.
The breakfast was good, clean but very limited in regards to selection. When requesting your eggs as they mentioned at each table the request was always ignored and just whatever was available even cold eggs as times were sent out. I had to request each day that my eggs were to be prepared soft/runny and they usually brought out cold m, dry and overcooked. So they would give me a look when I asked to please prepare as requested and then after some time they would come back with the order as mentioned.
Over all it was an effort that I don’t need or want at each stage of the interaction with staff and the facility.
I will stick to my usual Usual choice which is Bonvoy group of hotels next time.

Normal buffet breakfast, coffee/juice machine, pastries: Neapolitan/croissants/cake, some fruit, jam and huntable cocoa
Our arrival was late, they do not offer dinner service or sandwich options, they have a vending machine but it was broken, the products were stuck and did not come out, they have another coffee/chocolate machine that was the only dinner option
The room is fair, next to the bed a sink to wash your hands and a shower, the door did not close completely, so the water came out... the toilet is independent. It has hand soap and shower gel
Comfortable bed, only one pillow for each person, flat television on the wall and a window to the outside that cannot be opened completely since it has a stop
The room does not have USB plugs
