This is our second stay at this hotel. Check in excellent as always. Special thanks to Chris on reception. Our room was on the ground floor over looking the rear parking area. We had a drink in the bar which was busy but a nice atmosphere. We booked a stay and parking package the whole process was good. Our car was left on-site .As we were flying from terminal 2 we used the mini bus pick up service arranged by the hotel to take us the morning of our flight. No need if your flying from terminal 1 as it’s just a few minutes walk. Thanks for another excellent stay.

Hotel is conveniently located near Manchester airport, but if you are checking in late, traveling with a couple of suitcases, you may want to read on. We called the hotel from Brussels airport to get a basic sense of where to expect the hotel shuttle for pick up; we were told by the reception staff / operator, that one has to make the reservation online and the last pickup was at 10:00. We asked if she could make the reservation since I was already on the phone with her, but she explained it was an outsourced party and we had to do it. Our flight had a scheduled arrival at 09:30, so decided to make the shuttle booking. It was not easy to find a link on their website. Called them again to ask them where I could make the online reservation and was told one just has to cut across the street and the hotel was right there. Which we did. Luckily we had a small carryon with wheels each and it was not raining at that time, although the roads were wet from a recent rain shower. Hotel was functional. Clean/nice. IF you are arriving late, with the elderly or with a couple of large suitcases, please keep this in mind. Also call to understand the hours of operation for the shuttle service. It’s England, so having an umbrella handy is always useful. (As of mid March 2023).

Booked this hotel as there was a train strike the day of my flight. Also it's right next to the airport and slightly cheaper than Radissons inside the airport. However, there were no signs from the train station for the hotel. I ended walking around roundabouts I'm not supposed to be on! Turned out I should have walked inside the airport to get out nearer the hotel. Bit of a queue at check in, but ok otherwise. Room was comfy, with a settee. The coffee cups seem to leak- both of them! Would appear to be the material the cups were made of. Big soft towels were a delight. Separate bottles on the wall for shower gel, shampoo, conditioner. Good shower, options of normal and rain shower in a big shower area. Check out was easy, I didn't pay for breakfast. I did a short run in the morning around the hotel car park! Needs must... Overall, I would recommend it, as long as you know how to walk to the hotel from the airport safely! I would recommend the hotel liaise with the airport about signage. If there were signs and I missed it, then they need to be prominent, including detailed directions on the website.

Great airport hotel. The room was clean and nice. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The included breakfast was good. The hotel isn’t really within walking distance of the airport, an Uber is £10 but the hotel is much cheaper in comparison to the Radisson inside the airport.

This is a suburban resort hotel that is a bit far from the airport, but there are shuttle buses running between the terminals and the airport train station. The hotel room was nice and clean, but the hotel area was so large it was like walking into a maze. The restaurant is not bad, but the breakfast is a bit inferior compared to nearby airport hotels of the same level.

We only paid £42 for our room as we wanted to be close to the airport …. Used Twilight check in so checked our cases in today and fly in the morning. Room absolutely fine, bar area nice, prices bloody great for a hotel in Manchester especially if you get here for happy hour between 5pm and 7pm … I think it’s Sunday to Thurs. The reason I am writing this review is because of a friendly, very helpful black chap named Michael, he’s awesome! I offered to buy him a drink as we were leaving as I had no cash … he said he couldn’t …. I was gutted, he deserved it!!

My partner and I stayed here for a spa break getaway. Firstly, the hotel is lovely, nicely set out on the outside as well as inside, there is plenty of parking too. The hotel staff are absolutely lovely, so friendly and we were greeted with smiles and plenty of helpful information. One thing I will note is that there are stairs and no lifts, so I wouldn't say it was great for anyone unable to manage stairs. We had King Bedded Room, which was lovely, it was clean, well presented and had everything we needed for our weekend stay, however I wouldn't say the bed was Kingsize, it definitely felt more like a standard room. I'd recommend they get rid of the glass shower curtain and replace with an actual shower curtain that covers more than half the bath, as water had gone all over the bathroom floor. However, when we rang down and asked for more towels they were more than happy to help. Our evening meal was lovely, the starters (small plates) were stunning and the main was okay, they definitely seemed to put more effort into the small plates but it was all tasty and hit the spot (although don't waist plates by putting mash on a separate plate, just put it with the lamb, it looked and felt weird on its own). The thermal suit was fantastic! We spent hours going from steam room to sauna to thermal pool and jacuzzi as well as enjoying a swim in the pool. It was all clean and easy to navigate, the only thing missing was a treatment room to get a massage or two. We couldn't believe the facilities, the gym was huge! We had a look around as we are considering membership and the staff were super friendly, the size was incredible and it was so advanced. If you want use of the gym I'd recommend getting shown around first as there are lots of hidden gems. I'd recommend checking out Parrs Wood Entertainment Centre which is just a short walk up the road, there is bowling, cinema, arcade and lots of places to eat if you want to get out. There's also a nice little pathway down by the river mersey if you fancy a walk. We had a little trouble on checkout, we asked for a late checkout due to other plans and were told that it had been sorted for us to leave at 12pm. However at 11am we had housekeeping knocking on the door telling us we had to leave. I told them we had a late checkout and they argued with us and demanded we leave, they were quite rude. But when I rang down to reception they happily cleared things up for us in a much friendlier way and we left as planned at 12pm. All in all this hotel is a gem! It's perfect for a little relaxing break away. We will definitely be returning.

The room was comfortable and clean. A helpful lift for us old folks. We could not wish for anything better. Meals are taken in an adjacent restaurant. We were there for 2 breakfasts. As we live in France we look forward to a Full English and we were not disappointed on the Saturday morning. A lovely buffet layed out before us. Unfortunately the food was cold, just warm at best. So we complained to the staff on the desk and she promised to bring it to the attention of the chef. Sunday morning was no better. Cool to cold so I rejected it and had to make do with a croissant. The egg my partner took was just a solid yellow rubbery mess. We would have also eaten there Friday and Saturday nights but the menu was not attractive and the chips unacceptable. They cannot be bothered peeling the potatoes so we went into town. We will stay at the Premier Inn again but will reject the food offers.

GGuest UserPros - Room and facilities in room all top quality andd better than any other aparthotel I'd previously stayed in which I can sometimes find to be cheaply fitted out (this was not) - Great coffee, little treats and real milk in the fridge! And the fact it had a fridge btw to keep my little treats chilled! - Super comfortable bed - The power washer-esque shower nearly knocked me over! - Nice scented toiletries - Ironing board and available without needing to ask reception - Wonderful view across the Manchester skyline - Great location for me, maybe 10-15 minute walk at most in any direction to main areas (Picadilly, Arndale, Deansgate, Spinningfields) with the exception of the Northern Quarter (which I knew) - Room could easily accommodate 3 adults Cons - Downstairs lobby area under refurbishment wasn't the best first impression - Lifts could get busy at different times of day - Touch controls took a little getting used to - Would have been a bit pricey at full price for me as a solo traveller but as it was I got a great deal in advance through a bit of up front research and site searching
GGuest UserWhat a fantastic wee hotel the Brooklyn is! We stayed here on the night of the 19th of June for one night before heading off abroad the next day. Great location and a very quirky little hotel far exceeding expectations and better than some of these corporate giants, loved it! Staff were all exceptional to us, friendly and professional always. Bar staff on that evening get a special mention as they were brilliant. Cocktails were out of this world, as stated by Cocktail Queen herself who I was travelling with. Loved the terrace style seating near the bar, never seen that before! Rooms were awesome, bathroom fantastic and I did have a good chuckle at the fact that you could see into the bathroom from the bedroom through a one-way glass panel, hilarious! Everything smelt so wonderfully clean in the building too and I could not fault this place at all! A wonderful stay and a big thanks to all the staff that were on that evening and the next day, you should all be exceptionally proud of yourselves!
GGuest UserWe booked here for one night. This hotel is literally a 2 minute walk from Manchester Oxford Road train station.
Check in was straight forward and fast, getting to your room even quicker. Lifts are near reception so no lugging suitcases etc. Staff were friendly, there’s a bowl of your favourite chocolates on reception, my daughter was allowed to help herself to whatever she liked…that was a nice touch.
We booked a room for 4 people, now the room was fairly small, but this is a city centre hotel at a great price. Bathroom was the right size. There is a thermostat near the door, we felt the heating could have been placed in a better location as it took a while to heat the room, the blower was right near the door, so heated that area quickly, but not the rest of the room.
Overall the hotel was clean, staff were all friendly and happy to talk if you were…we liked that too.
This hotel is used by all type of customers, families, business people, singles and couples.
The location is great, you are a 15 minute walk away from the main town centre…with the Arndale Centre. In fairness I think why would you need to walk that far as there’s loads of eateries and shops all around this hotel, enough to keep the day traveller happy.
The pictures don’t fully do it justice as we had stayed in the room at the time of me taking them.
I loved the view!
I would stay here again, the price which is important was the best feature, cheapest hotel by a mile.
GGuest UserMy husband and I came to the hotel on Friday 7/10/2022 room 1216 I honestly couldn't say anything negative about this hotel . The moment we walked in Georgia and neelam on reception greeted us warmly and explained everything. Once we settled in we came back to the bar to enjoy the amazing range of cocktails made by Gabriel :) the bar staff were all amazing from the manager phoebe to Pablo and andree they couldn't do more to make you feel welcome . Our room did have a view of the construction but we expected that as we are in the middle of Manchester and it was not a problem at all . The breakfast was beautiful unfortunately I didn't get the gentleman's name who was clearing the tables but he was so nice lastly I would like to give mo from housekeeping a massive shout out our room was spotless and he even gave me a kit kat 😀 what stands out about this hotel is the staff and I mean all the staff shine they all greet you with smiles and I know how hard that can be for a full shift 😀 can't wait to come back thank you
AAnonymous UserThe hotel is very close to the city centre. The room is very cozy, clean and spacious. The hotel staff was really nice and helpful as well. The hotel is exactly what you would expect from a Marriott hotel - everything is just perfect and cozy. Would recommend to anyone staying in Manchester for a holiday.
GGuest UserWe arrived earlier than checking due to having spa treatments booked as we were celebrating our 10th anniversary and left our bags at the reception. 3pm we got to our room and got ready to go out for evening. We left the hotel at 5pm and informed reception the thermostat was showing a fault code and we couldn't increase the temperature. Reception said Maintance would sort it. 7 hours later we returned to a room we couldn't increase the temperature to as no one had fixed it. It's a clean nice hotel and great location for concerts but for the price we paid I wouldn't be staying here again.
JJohnny EuroVery grand traditional hotel. On the inside, it mixes modern with the old historic feel. The hotel workers are very friendly and pleasant, check-in is very quick, the rooms are spacious and clean, lots of tea and coffee in the room. There's a restaurant and bar downstairs and the buffet breakfast is superb - full english (sausage, bacon, eggs, mushrooms, tomato, beans, fried potato) cereals, fruits, breads and pastries with juices and hot drinks! Prices are reasonable for rooms. Would definitely stay here again.
GGuest UserSpent one night here as I was travelling to a match in Old Trafford. The stadium is only 10 minute walk away. I requested a quiet room as I had my young son with me. I must say that they certainly did accommodate me. The room was clean and very small. The bed was very comfortable. One tip, if you want to charge your phone and use it while lying in bed, bring an extra long phone charger cable, as the only socket in the room is under the TV, which is in the corner of the room Its a maybe, that I will stay again. I got it for a great price. Overall, happy with stay. It is the basic of basic hotels! Heard from other that the tram can be loud, but I never heard it. Gregs shop next door in petrol station was handy.
AAnonymous UserThe lifestyle was super
Location: 5/5
The location is fantastic, situated right in the heart of downtown. It’s within walking distance to major attractions, restaurants, and shopping centers. Public transportation is also easily accessible, making it convenient to explore the city.
Cleanliness: 4/5
The hotel maintains a high standard of cleanliness. The lobby, common areas, and my room were spotless. Housekeeping was prompt and thorough, ensuring that everything was in order each day.
Service: 4/5
The staff at Grandview Hotel were friendly and professional. Check-in and check-out processes were smooth and efficient. The concierge was particularly helpful in providing recommendations and assisting with reservations.
Amenities: 4/5
The hotel offers a range of amenities, including a well-equipped fitness center, a relaxing spa, and a rooftop pool with stunning city views. The on-site restaurant serves a delicious breakfast buffet with a variety of options. However, room service was a bit slow during peak hours.
Room: 3.5/5
The room was comfortable and well-appointed, with modern furnishings and a cozy bed. The bathroom was spacious and stocked with high-quality toiletries. However, the soundproofing could be improved, as I could occasionally hear noise from the hallway and neighboring rooms.
Value for Money: 4/5
Considering its prime location and the quality of services and amenities, the Grandview Hotel offers good value for money. While it may be on the pricier side, the overall experience justifies the cost.
RRachelIt was a really comfortable bed, and clean sheets and good pillows. The bathroom was clean, garden and outside untidy. Friendly staff though not sure where to go for help, no reception desk
