I booke the Savoy due to its proximity to a business convention and because most other hotels were sold out. I was able to experience the suite and the regular room. The rooms are well sized and clean with all amenities (shampoo, gel etc) available. The breakfast has a good selection of local specialties and western items. Staff is overall friendly and aiming to do a good job. However, here is we’re the hotel (in my opinion) missed the mark of the 5 star experience. While I genuinely believe that staff is aiming to do a good job, I don’t think they are well trained. - I tried to get additional water by calling housekeeping on different occasions, it turned out impossible. No one was picking up. Upon calling the operator, still nothing happened - Getting my laundry done was a similar experience. I called the dedicated number for laundry service and no one picked up. Then I called the operator and explained the situation and was assured someone would come. Again - no show. - The remote control in my second room was broken. I tried to call housekeeping. To no avail. The guest relations manager called me because they confused two rooms and accidentally gave me a room that was clear intended for honeymooners (which I tried to explain to the gentleman who brought me to the room, but he insisted and showed me the paper from reception..) I explained to her that the remote was broken, she assured me someone would come, but no one ever did replace the remote control. - I tried to book a tour through the concierge. (In person). When I got to him, he asked me to sit down and told me he would give me a brochure. After 20min, he was helping other guests (who came after me) and I still sat there without a brochure. I ended up booking my tours online, which turned out perfect. There are however people who made the stay better. Ayu - from room service. A young gentleman who learned my coffee and organized soya milk. (I ordered my morning coffee because housekeeping would not leave any milk or powdered milk…) Rachid - one of the porters. I had forgotten my plug. The hotel send me a converter but didn’t have plugs. He gave me his personal plug until I bought one. The hotel is ok if the price is right. I think making it 5 star is a bit of a stretch given that personnel is not well trained.

Dirty cutlery, noisy location and poor service…. First problem, I was staying on the four floor, which was an issue as one lift was out of action and the other two lifts are unbelievably slow. The room was dark and even with the lights on difficult to see anything without the use of a torch. Thankfully my room was facing the pool as many colleagues who also had been staying complained of noise through the night from the road, obviously in rooms that had been facing the road. I still had an 8am wake up from the building site next door though. I only had breakfast at the hotel - but found the cutlery dirty and some cutlery had some sticky residue on them. Food was ok but far from the standard I had found in some of the local restaurants. At checkout I had a problem with the laundry bill, I was offered only a 5% discount on the laundry. I ended up paying in full after being threatened by the police for taking a photo of the invoice. Once in my taxi, back to the airport the taxi driver said there is always a problem with the hotel at checkout….clearly not an isolated case. The hotel did have some old charm but very much tainted by poor service, dirty cutlery and a noisy location. Avoid.

Stayed here as part of an EasyJet package and wasn't sure exactly what to expect as it was our first time in Marrakech.. We were greeted with a very warm welcome and served mint tea, local pastries and water..........and some fuss from a local cat. The hotel was very clean, beautiful inside and cool in temperature given the heat outside. Our room was also clean, well presented if not a little basic. Obviously, you have to be mindful that hotel star ratings are different from the UK. During our week long stay all of the staff were extremely friendly and helpful and couldn't do enough for us. The rooftop spaces are beautiful and you don't really notice any of the hustle and bustle below. The only note really is that people of a larger size or restricted mobility may struggle on the stairwells as they are pretty steep and narrow. Hold those banisters tight! In a nutshell, this riad is excellent, in a prime location and the staff........and cat's.........were friendly with impeccable service. This seemed to be the case throughout Marrakech as the people are so welcoming.

Recommended this Riad by our personal travel consultant who we trust implicitly. She didn't let us down! On arrival (tucked away from the hassle and bussle), we were greeted by Khalid and Sylvie. Mint tea was provided and welcomed after a 2 hour queue getting passed customs at the airport. Khalid gave us a lot of info and showed us around the Riad. It's beautiful, well kept and an experience in itself. The pool was closed from day 2-4 due to damage from a previous client but Sylvie kept us updated on its progress. Our 5 day trip certainly wasn't impacted by the closure. Rooms are as expected in an 18th century palace. We wanted an authentic experience and we got it. Tv didn't work but an engineer was called and it was corrected. Breakfast was good, the selection changed daily and set us up for the day, the sun terrace was lovely. We ate at the riad once and again couldn't fault the food. Boarding passes were printed for us, any questions or queries were dealt with. We would definitely come back to this amazing place. The hotel looks lovely. We arrived at 12 and check in is at 3 but they gave us our wrist band so we could get a drink and look around. At 3 we went to reception and were told we could have our room we started wheeling our cases and a member of staff took them to show us to our room. Room was nice the view just looked out onto the road which was very busy but we weren't too worried about that, we thanked the guy who just stood there saying your welcome but wouldn't leave!! I called my husband as I was feeling uncomfortable at this point, my husband handed him some money and he left! The tipping had begun already, I'm not against tipping but seriously he just showed us our room he didn't tell us anything about the hotel or facilities at all. The bed was made daily but not clean sheets the bathroom was cleaned daily but we had to ask on several occasions for toilet roll and the shower door which is over the bath opened inward rather than out making it an obstacle getting in and out, we also had a fold up bed taking space up in our room which wasn't required. Food had lots of choice but was never labeled so you had no idea what anything was and it was cold. Utensils were dropped and put back in the food, children were touching and putting food back it was off putting. We had booked several trips so we were not planning to eat very much at the hotel however one lunch towards the end of our stay we had the BBQ chicken and both became extremely ill having to leave our room for water as none is left in your room to keep hydrated you have to walk to the bar to get it yourself, on our final evening we had to go for dinner to dinner as we had been so ill we hadn't eaten for almost two days again food was so cold we left and went to the restaurant over the road. No sun loungers available unless you get up at 7am and put a towel down. One day we got a lounger at 8am all the others were taken and the four next to us were reserved with towels until 1230 then the family left them again at 1pm and went for lunch while people were having to lay on the grass. The best thing about this hotel were the inside bar which you have to pay as it's not part of all inclusive however we paid just to get a decent drink and seat. Would definitely not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Me and my partner stayed here and have nothing but glowing things to say. The food was very good especially for all inclusive. the hotel is absolutely stunning and the rooms are very spacious. Would like to do a special mention to Soufiane thank you for treating us like royalty and bringing us plenty of drinks. And of course a special thank you to the lovely Kylie. Thank you so much for being so friendly and keeping us so entertained what a wonderful women and we have dance moves to take home with us. Absolute credit to sol oasis
