I booke the Savoy due to its proximity to a business convention and because most other hotels were sold out. I was able to experience the suite and the regular room. The rooms are well sized and clean with all amenities (shampoo, gel etc) available. The breakfast has a good selection of local specialties and western items. Staff is overall friendly and aiming to do a good job. However, here is we’re the hotel (in my opinion) missed the mark of the 5 star experience. While I genuinely believe that staff is aiming to do a good job, I don’t think they are well trained. - I tried to get additional water by calling housekeeping on different occasions, it turned out impossible. No one was picking up. Upon calling the operator, still nothing happened - Getting my laundry done was a similar experience. I called the dedicated number for laundry service and no one picked up. Then I called the operator and explained the situation and was assured someone would come. Again - no show. - The remote control in my second room was broken. I tried to call housekeeping. To no avail. The guest relations manager called me because they confused two rooms and accidentally gave me a room that was clear intended for honeymooners (which I tried to explain to the gentleman who brought me to the room, but he insisted and showed me the paper from reception..) I explained to her that the remote was broken, she assured me someone would come, but no one ever did replace the remote control. - I tried to book a tour through the concierge. (In person). When I got to him, he asked me to sit down and told me he would give me a brochure. After 20min, he was helping other guests (who came after me) and I still sat there without a brochure. I ended up booking my tours online, which turned out perfect. There are however people who made the stay better. Ayu - from room service. A young gentleman who learned my coffee and organized soya milk. (I ordered my morning coffee because housekeeping would not leave any milk or powdered milk…) Rachid - one of the porters. I had forgotten my plug. The hotel send me a converter but didn’t have plugs. He gave me his personal plug until I bought one. The hotel is ok if the price is right. I think making it 5 star is a bit of a stretch given that personnel is not well trained.

Dirty cutlery, noisy location and poor service…. First problem, I was staying on the four floor, which was an issue as one lift was out of action and the other two lifts are unbelievably slow. The room was dark and even with the lights on difficult to see anything without the use of a torch. Thankfully my room was facing the pool as many colleagues who also had been staying complained of noise through the night from the road, obviously in rooms that had been facing the road. I still had an 8am wake up from the building site next door though. I only had breakfast at the hotel - but found the cutlery dirty and some cutlery had some sticky residue on them. Food was ok but far from the standard I had found in some of the local restaurants. At checkout I had a problem with the laundry bill, I was offered only a 5% discount on the laundry. I ended up paying in full after being threatened by the police for taking a photo of the invoice. Once in my taxi, back to the airport the taxi driver said there is always a problem with the hotel at checkout….clearly not an isolated case. The hotel did have some old charm but very much tainted by poor service, dirty cutlery and a noisy location. Avoid.

Stayed here as part of an EasyJet package and wasn't sure exactly what to expect as it was our first time in Marrakech.. We were greeted with a very warm welcome and served mint tea, local pastries and water..........and some fuss from a local cat. The hotel was very clean, beautiful inside and cool in temperature given the heat outside. Our room was also clean, well presented if not a little basic. Obviously, you have to be mindful that hotel star ratings are different from the UK. During our week long stay all of the staff were extremely friendly and helpful and couldn't do enough for us. The rooftop spaces are beautiful and you don't really notice any of the hustle and bustle below. The only note really is that people of a larger size or restricted mobility may struggle on the stairwells as they are pretty steep and narrow. Hold those banisters tight! In a nutshell, this riad is excellent, in a prime location and the staff........and cat's.........were friendly with impeccable service. This seemed to be the case throughout Marrakech as the people are so welcoming.

Recommended this Riad by our personal travel consultant who we trust implicitly. She didn't let us down! On arrival (tucked away from the hassle and bussle), we were greeted by Khalid and Sylvie. Mint tea was provided and welcomed after a 2 hour queue getting passed customs at the airport. Khalid gave us a lot of info and showed us around the Riad. It's beautiful, well kept and an experience in itself. The pool was closed from day 2-4 due to damage from a previous client but Sylvie kept us updated on its progress. Our 5 day trip certainly wasn't impacted by the closure. Rooms are as expected in an 18th century palace. We wanted an authentic experience and we got it. Tv didn't work but an engineer was called and it was corrected. Breakfast was good, the selection changed daily and set us up for the day, the sun terrace was lovely. We ate at the riad once and again couldn't fault the food. Boarding passes were printed for us, any questions or queries were dealt with. We would definitely come back to this amazing place. Thank you for a really fabulous stay and experience. We wish you all at the Riad the very best for the future.

The hotel looks lovely. We arrived at 12 and check in is at 3 but they gave us our wrist band so we could get a drink and look around. At 3 we went to reception and were told we could have our room we started wheeling our cases and a member of staff took them to show us to our room. Room was nice the view just looked out onto the road which was very busy but we weren't too worried about that, we thanked the guy who just stood there saying your welcome but wouldn't leave!! I called my husband as I was feeling uncomfortable at this point, my husband handed him some money and he left! The tipping had begun already, I'm not against tipping but seriously he just showed us our room he didn't tell us anything about the hotel or facilities at all. The bed was made daily but not clean sheets the bathroom was cleaned daily but we had to ask on several occasions for toilet roll and the shower door which is over the bath opened inward rather than out making it an obstacle getting in and out, we also had a fold up bed taking space up in our room which wasn't required. Food had lots of choice but was never labeled so you had no idea what anything was and it was cold. Utensils were dropped and put back in the food, children were touching and putting food back it was off putting. We had booked several trips so we were not planning to eat very much at the hotel however one lunch towards the end of our stay we had the BBQ chicken and both became extremely ill having to leave our room for water as none is left in your room to keep hydrated you have to walk to the bar to get it yourself, on our final evening we had to go for dinner to dinner as we had been so ill we hadn't eaten for almost two days again food was so cold we left and went to the restaurant over the road. No sun loungers available unless you get up at 7am and put a towel down. One day we got a lounger at 8am all the others were taken and the four next to us were reserved with towels until 1230 then the family left them again at 1pm and went for lunch while people were having to lay on the grass. The best thing about this hotel were the inside bar which you have to pay as it's not part of all inclusive however we paid just to get a decent drink and seat. Would definitely not recommend this hotel to anyone.

GGuest UserAs very seasoned travelers, my family and I enjoy exploring the most amazing resorts and hotels around the world, which we look at with a very discriminating eye. For the Oberoi Marrakesh, it is truly difficult to find fault. The hotel, relatively new, is simply stunning with the impressive lobby and villas, as well as expansive gardens with 2700 olive trees. The acting General Manager Mamdouh is the perfect and consummate hotelier, ever present checking everything non-stop, to ensure the guest experience is nothing less than 5-stars. Jalal from their F&B outlet surprised us with an entire loaf of lemon cake to take back to London that was not available on two breakfasts which we sore missed after our first breakfast. El Habib is an amazing server ready to grant you at least three wishes with his magic lamp! Khalid the Duty Manager also asks non-stop how they can improve a service that is already par excellence. Our hats off to the amazing pastry chef who makes baked goods that rival the best Parisian patisserie. I saw the two staff who cleaned every machine in the fitness center using four sprays leaving neither dust nor germ —- they focus on the minutest detail. The whole team is just extremely well-trained and professional and very committed in their desire to exceed your expectations. The synchronization of their efforts, in the most natural and sincere manner, always with big smiles, translates to nothing less than less than a truly memorable experience. They know how to make you feel like Arab royalty! We will certainly be back!!! Thank you so much to all of you!!! Shukran! If you want that “palace in the middle of the oasis experience” in Marrakesh, you will not get it any better than at the Oberoi!

YYUEThis kind of price feels that this Amanlang has a false name. First, there are no snow-capped mountains to see. Second, the green environment is not as good as Mandarin Oriental. If you stay for one night at most, you don’t want to continue to stay. My personal experience is that Mandarin Oriental is much better.

GGuest UserLet’s start from the beginning…. Myself and my son arrived at the Riad in the evening . We were followed by someone who spoke about knowing where the Riad was . We DID NOT ask him for directions . Once we arrived at the property the manager let us in. The man was demanding money from us for showing us to the property . I explained several times I did not ask for directions and would not be giving him any money . The manager stood with the door open and even allowed him to step in . Why wouldn’t you tell him to leave and shut the door instead of allowing him to try and intimate us ? Luckily I’m not easily intimidated but it’s not the point it wasn’t a nice start to our holiday . Once we arrived in the room it looked completely different to the pictures extremely small for 2 adults . Nevertheless we left our luggage and left out to explore for an hour . Once back I sat on the bed and noticed how hard it was . (Single beds were requested due to sharing with my 21 year old son). The next morning I had pain down my left side due to the bed being so hard so went to speak to the manager . This went on for a few days back and forth , asking for extra duvets to sleep on . I was then told there was nothing that could be done . As I was still unhappy I was told to contact *********** . I could tell the manager wasn’t particularly bothered or interested. I then asked to speak with the owner (the managers wife ) and was told she was away in the USA. I managed to get her number and sent 2 messages . Both messages were ignored . Over a period of 5 days I spoke with the manager face to face and on WhatsApp numerous times . Why as a manager you are communicating on WhatsApp is beyond me. Laziness and lack of interest ( you live within with Riad) Quick to ask for the tax on the first day though. I don’t think it’s fair I paid almost £600 to be treated like that . You ruined our first experience of Marrakesh. It’s not good enough to say ‘what should I do about it ‘ and ‘sorry’ I should have been refunded for the days left after my complaint so I could go and stay somewhere with a reasonable bed . I even explained I’d donated a kidney last year so needed a comfortable bed . This is not too much to ask it’s basic . Didn’t want to refund any money at all…GREEDY. Not sure why you some platforms you’ve advised a rooftop pool ? It’s a small terrace area with your personal laundry room . Over the wall is a building of rubble where rubbish is burnt and a graveyard so not a nice view at all . Also can I address the breakfast as it looks nothing like the picture . It consist of 2 flat pastries , a small orange juice , an over sweet Moroccan tea , a small jam & marmalade and a huge basked of bread . This is the same every day . The bathroom Was not upto a good hygiene standard (see pics) I informed the manager the hot water had gone cold . This went on for 2 days with an ‘engineer ‘ who had no idea what he was doing banging for 2 days throughout the day and night causing the

550jeniferpWe checked in in the morning, which we were very grateful to them for allowing us to do. Everyone was so kind and helpful even after we realized there was a problem with our reservation. They worked with us and never tried to charge us for the mistake even though they certainly could have (especially when it took a few days for our travel agent to fix it). The food was delicious, every single person was friendly and helpful. We also got massages at the spa and were so happy and relaxed. They even held our luggage for free for a few days while we went on an excursion. The rooms they gave us for the second half of our stay were even nicer than the first. They were in the process of filing the pool and we really enjoyed sitting out by it even though they were laying even more pretty tile (the hotel is very beautiful as it is, even nicer than the pictures). I will say the internet passwords kept expiring which was annoying, but they always gave us a new code without any issue except the minor inconvenience. We will definitely be back.

GGuest UserI booked the hotel after one of the other reviewers on here kindly answered some questions for me. It was bliss. The room was elegant and comfortable, breakfast buffet had lots of good choices and pool area was a delight. All the staff were lovely too. I’m really surprised at some of the other comments here which say the staff were unhelpful. Maybe it was the stress of operating through covid. For me, after a few days they knew my name, what I like to drink, where I wanted to sit and offered me a very late checkout before I even asked. The only ****** was that you can’t set the air on temperature individually for your room, it’s set for the whole hotel. Ample complimentary bottled water in the room every day. I didn’t use the spa, so can’t comment on that. The restaurant and alcoholic drinks are v expensive, but there are plenty of restaurant choices outside (although only the most expensive serve alcohol). The location is great, just a 15 min stroll to the Djemma El Fna, and 30 mins (or short taxi) to the Jardin Majorelle. All the taxi drivers know where it is too, unlike some of the small riads, if you’ve done so much walking you need to taxi back from somewhere.

Excellent
IIlan ToledanoVery nice hotel. Very nice and spacious swimming pools. The rooftop pool is very nice, you feel like you're in the middle of the medina and at the same time it's very relaxing. The bottom pool is very large but there is quite a lot of noise in general. We had to be upgraded when we arrived, which was really nice. The service is very good, however the breakfast is of good quality but the choice is quite limited and that is what disappointed us the most. In short, a very good experience :)

Very Good
GGuest UserBackground: stayed 3 nights over new year 22/23 with the family. Hotel is twinned with The Opera Plaza Hotel, but we stayed in the Red Hotel Section. The Good: friendly staff, clean rooms, good service and housekeeping, wonderful buffet breakfast with scrambled eggs, Morocco’s style pancakes and bread made on demand, pool area is fabulous and you could easily spend hours there. Location was good with most tourist attractions a 5 to 10 min cab ride away. The venue has a bowling alley and a restaurant with international football shown every day, it is not rowdy and is a nice atmosphere to watch a match. Close to Menara Mall and some western fast food places. The not so good: the red hotel is a bit dated, carpets in common areas are a bit frayed and the room stayed in was very basic with uncomfortable pillows and facing the street was noisy. Overall: this is an upper 3 star / lower 4 star hotel. I would rate 7 out of 10. I think most people would be happy with a short stay at this hotel for a reasonable price. I have read some of the other reviews on trip advisor which can put you off but our experience was fine. I also note the comment about a new year event on another review, we were at the hotel at the same time (the red hotel part) but not invited to anything.

FFarahWe had the pleasure of staying at Riad Jibril during our visit to Marrakech, and what a delightful experience it was! Our host, Iheb, truly deserves the title of a legend. From the moment we checked in until we checked out, he made our stay memorable. Whilr it may not be a 5-star hotel, it provided a unique and authentic Moroccan experience that exceeded our expectations. The riad itself, with its traditional architecture, was clean and inviting. The highlight was undoubtedly the serene terrace, a peaceful oasis away from the hustle and bustle of the medina. One evening, we indulged in sheesha on the terrace, a delightful experience that only cost us around 70 MAD. We also had the pleasure of dining on the terrace, where we enjoyed delicious tagines at a very reasonable price of 60 MAD each. The chef's culinary skills were truly impressive. The breakfast served each morning was traditional and homely too! What made our stay truly special was the warm and welcoming atmosphere created by Iheb and the staff. We arrived as guests but left feeling like friends. We were even befriended by the two adorable resident kittens, Sofia, the long-haired tabby, and Leena, the ginger kitten. Their presence added an extra touch of charm to our stay. The location of Riad Jibril was perfect, and the camel in front of the money exchange served as an excellent landmark. The riad was on the opposite alleyway, second door, making it easy to find. We especially enjoyed its proximity to Kasbah, near Zeitun Cafe, a favorite spot of ours to visit at night. The lantern-lit terrace at the cafe provided majestic views that made our evenings even more memorable.

NNicola MWe arrived around 9.15pm on a Friday night, reception said to leave everything there and grab some food as restaurant closed in 15 mins. There was not much to eat as they were already packing away, but we could get something. PROS Quickly checked in and reception staff were lovely and we were taken to our rooms. We had a family suite, which was gorgeous. Large double bed and another room with 2 single beds, lovely air con, but no main lights in the bedrooms just lamps (which were beautiful. Lovely large bathroom. Pool was large and very nice, plenty of sunbeds and no 6am madness. There was 10 of us and we easily managed to get beds together after breakfast at 9.30am. Restaurant - food was lovely, amazing tagines for lunch and dinner, chips at lunch time and all sorts of pastas at dinner. Breakfast was very basic, but fresh omelettes and pastries. If you want bacon and sausages dont go to Morocco enjoy their cuisines. Staff were friendly, animation team were great, always going above and beyond and not too pushy. They just never stopped and in that heat I dont know how. They were AMAZING. Shuttle bus which fits 16 people on goes into town a number of times a day and picks you up. Slightly confusing, as you get dropped off in the middle of no where and have to walk to the square, so REMEMBER WHERE THEY LEAVE YOU as this is where you have to make your way back to, to get the bus home. Overall took about 25 mins. CONS Snack bar - hit and miss. some days you could get a burger other days just some pastries. Shop!!! BEWARE. They will rip you off. There is a man and lady working in there, if you see the lady she will overcharge you beyond belief. If you go when the man is there, he provides you with a reasonable charge. e.g. a packet of chips she told me was 100 dirham (around £10) I then went back when she wasnt there and the man charged me 40 dirham! Wasps - this is not the hotels fault but there are a lot of wasps around the pool. Throw your cups away after use. Bar at Night - so drinks stopped at 11pm, however from about 8pm there is only 1 bar to get drinks for the whole hotel. The Bar staff conveniently then go on breaks leaving 1 person working whilst you can see others standing in the room behind laughing. Huge queues which caused lots of arguments and angry customers in the evening. Middle of no where. You are not able to leave the hotel and go for a walk as there is nothing around at all. Overall it was lovely and these cons would not stop me booking here again.
