Our family recently stayed at Pergola Hotel. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure of our stay was perfect. The room was beautifully furnished, big, spotlessly clean, and had a breathtaking view of the church and sea. Every staff member I encountered went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction. We felt truly taken care of. Special thanks to Rouselle, who consistently checked in to ensure everything was perfect for us.

We stayed on the older side of the hotel. Room smelt of damp and when we complained they came in and bleached the floors nothing else. There was only one socket in the room which kept crackling. The breakfast was average but we went up the road to Debbie’s Cafe which was great. The pool upstairs was good with nice views but the drinks were overly priced. We had a couples massage “Back, shoulders and neck”. My other half only had his neck massaged. I had all parts it felt good but later that day I experienced some horrific neck pain and felt as though a muscle had twinged. Not worth the price we paid. We went to the Thai Fusion restaurant the views were great but I wasn’t over impressed with my dish to start as is was a red curry in soup water, thankfully they took it back and the taste wasn’t so bad. Again felt it was over priced for what it was. Over all hotel was okay, but the services within were very overly priced. I also think had our room been on the renovated side we would of been more positive on our review as our room was outdated and stunk of damp.

An enjoyable weekend break at Solana. The place is well positioned in the center of Mellieha to explore the town, v. nice view from the rooftop (attached a pic) that they also highlight as instagram-worthy. I rated the location 4/5 because of the relatively minor difficulty to find close-by parking as you need to be careful due to limited hours, but I learnt after that the hotel offers limited parking spots against payment. Cleanliness and service both rated an excellent 5/5. The facilities were good, again they didn't merit a 5/5 only because of a couple of small issues: you can experience a relatively long wait for the 2 lifts (used by guests and staff) at peak times since the hotel consists of two connected buildings, the gym needs a spruce-up as the multi-use machine needs a good oiling and the treadmill's arm cushions easily came unstuck, and the rooftop pool water was slightly murky on Sat afternoon and Sun morning. Other than our studio apartment was a comfortable fit for a family of 4, that included a well-equipped kitchenette that we used on the second night when the kids fancied an evening in after a long day. And nice to see once again the old-school complimentary sewing needle and thread, as well as a good sized bathtub. Tea and coffee freebies were present in abundance in the room. Breakfast was delicious and they certainly got the bacon, sausages, eggs, pastry and yogurt right. All in all, a well-priced worthy consideration if you're staying in Mellieha.

The accommodation was great and the food was very tasty the only problem was the tv did not work and there was nobody available to fix it.

My wife and I have just returned from spending 2 weeks at this hotel . I'm trying to find words that describe what is good about it. I've just realised which words i'm looking for......ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING. We have travelled to numerous countries over the past 40-50 years and stayed in many many hotels but our experience at this hotel surpasses them all. The staff at reception, Marine, Maja and their colleagues were always most helpful when asked for information or sorting a small problem. The staff in the dining room, Subina and Nikesh in particular were most friendly and helpful and together with their colleagues helped make dining there a complete pleasure. The food choice was amazing, both the buffet breakfast and the a la carte evening meal. The room (and particular the bed) was massive with all the amenities you needed. We would definitly recommend this hotel to anybody who wanted a stressless stay in Malta.

The hotel is nice and well located. Depending on your trip intentions moving by public transport takes minimum a ride of 30 mins so if you want to just relax this hotel is a great option. The rooms smelled like humidity and they should look into repairing it specially if it goes through the furniture (the side of the kitchen on my apartment was pretty bad) and the sea room I was given had no sea view due to other buildings. The staff is extremely nice and helpful a d willing to help if anything happens. The hotel itself is quite big and the rooms/apartments are great, but they need renovation. Other than that I had a great time!

It was so good that I thought it was a pity that I only stayed for one night. The Mediterranean restaurant located inside the resort was not very tasty, but the breakfast was very good. It was an English breakfast buffet (sausage, bacon, eggs, etc.), and there was also a little Turkish breakfast menu (ham, cheese, tomato, cucumber). The staff were friendly and the amenities were good~ It's nice to see nearby Bujiba.

Almost perfect My wife and I stayed for three nights this summer. This small hotel (just eighteen rooms), set in an old palace within the city walls of Mdina, is incredibly beautiful, the views from the rooms (pick one with a panoramic view, and don’t choose duplex if you can’t manage stairs) are superb, and the staff are wonderfully helpful and attentive. The only disappointment for me was that after all the reviews, I was looking forward to treating my wife to a birthday meal at the hotel’s Michelin starred restaurant, but when we arrived, we learned this restaurant was fully booked for and indeed beyond our stay. The helpful staff booked us into local restaurants as an alternative, but it was naturally not quite the same. Unless the hotel starts emailing people upon booking asking if they want to make reservations for their best restaurant (I imagine most guests will want them), I suggest you make your booking for this restaurant when you book your room. We will next time, and we will definitely be back. Other than that, a quite wonderful stay, and I would like to thank all the staff and management for making it so. Highly recommended.

Starting with the information - we stayed at So City as a young couple (who arent particularly into nightclubs/bars) to see Matla for the first time over a week. I have given this a 'benefit-of-the-doubt' rating due to the hotel being incredibly new. We picked So City Hotel because of the value, it was incredibly well priced. I'd imagine this is a strategy due to it being so new but it was certainly well worth the price we paid. On to the hotel as a whole - I feel this is definitely aimed toward capturing people coming to Malta for some night life. Its positioned so that no more than 10 seconds from leaving the lobby, you can be in a bar, and their are some nice bars surrounding. That said, we werent there for that - but this location also meant that finding an evening meal, or a quick early night drink was incredibly easy. Exploring the island was also very easy from here, Valletta was a very short journey, and as we had opted to rent a car, there was a carpark about 5 minutes walk away (Pengardens) which is reasonably priced for over night parking, and we never struggled for a space. The room was very comfortable, and the mattress was perfect and bedding very soft and comfortable. Our upgraded room was also incredibly spacious. The theming is a nice touch and makes the room a bit more characterful and individual. Staying on the 7th floor, there was minimal noise at night, altough id be concerned if we needed to keep the window open.... The black out curtains were also amazing for keep the room dark for a little bit of extra sleep. Constructive criticism for the room would be: The shower tempurture is difficult - the hottest setting is insanely hot (my other half loves hot showers but this was too much for her also) and it wouldnt go cold, just cooler, it also seemed to get colder through out the shower and you found yourself adjusting. There is not a lot of storage at all for longer stays. This is perhaps a by product of it feeling aimed towards 'nightlifers' who might stop 3 nights or so. I would perhaps ask reception for additional hangers if you have plenty of clothes for a longer stay. The mini fridge, altough useful, is not big enough to put larger water bottles in, which can be annoying. The aircon unit is situated in a place which means it blows directly at the bed. I tried to play with the control but there was no way to adjust it that I could find. Im trying to cool the room, not refridgerate myself. The timer on the aircon also didnt seem to work, so setting it the blow for 30 mins whilst i went to sleep just didnt seem to work. The TV is not a full smartTV which is a shame. Just channels and an internet browser, which are never nice to navigate around.... On to other notes: Breakfast is just what you need. Its not an all out buffett where there is everything you could dream of, but there is more than enough and a few items cycle so you can expect a slightly different breakfast each morning. We arrived to find that we did not have a room. We were staying for 2 weeks as we were getting married. Easy jet had cancelled our flight from Gatwick. I informed the hotel of our change of date which I had on my phone. Can you imagine how we felt? We also had 8 rooms booked for family. After half an hour of total stressed they found our booking under Kevin Kevin!! The hotel receptionist was going to provide some Prosecco and was also asked to book 3 taxis for my self and bridesmaids on Saturday 1st October, I asked several times if he had done this he assured me that everything was booked and not to worry. Saturday came no taxis and no Prosecco. Had to book ourselves, meaning we were late for my wedding. The hotel itself is dirty, I found dried blood and holes on supposedly clean sheets, mattress was threadbear. The rooms were swept once in the time we spent here. New staff are always being trained, obviously they don’t keep them very long. The showers are small dirty and bathroom tiny. Hardly any storage facilities. You have to pay to hire a fridge. There are no facilities to iron clothes and the hairdryer smells of burning when you use. The air conditioner in the room causes everyone to have sore throats. There are no disability facilities, the stairs are narrow, there is one lift that is very small. I seriously would advise that you do not stay at this hotel
