What a low budget hotel. The security lock on the door was broken. In the middle of the night you could see roaches in the bathroom. Hairs left in shower. Not cleaned at all. Mattresses in the walkway. Drawers in dresser wouldn't stay shut. Holes in curtains. Do not recommend

Stay away Hourly hotel would be better There was a motet cycle gang outside my room playing music on the bike radio as loud as it would go, and drinking beer and whiskey in the parking lot, and revving up the engines constantly. I could not sleep. Complained to the little girl at the front desk and she said she could go ask them again to be quiet, but she had already done that and it did not work. She said she will not give me a refund. I informed her that I was going to call guest services and also blast red roof inn all over social media. She said she did not care. The worst customer service I have ever seen.

This is quite simply the dirtiest and worse motel we have ever stayed at. We were en route on a cross county trip and needed a quiet hotel to stay the night. Memphis was the halfway point and we chose the Red Roof Inn in East Memphis. Upon checking in, the manager was in an office area behind "bullet proof" glass with only a basket to provide ID and credit card information. There is a large sign that says that all guest must provide a $100 cash or debit deposit for each room that is refundable upon checkout and satisfactory inspection. I was disgusted when the attendant gave me the key to my room and he said, this is where we put the "white people" and he didn't assess the deposit on my room. Presumably, he was inferring that white people are lower risk and don't require a deposit and perhaps are segregated from the other guests. This employee appeared to be of Indian or Pakistani descent. I only state this to provide context. I haven't heard a statement like that in a very long time. The room was the filthiest room I have ever stayed in. Holes in the wall, a large crack in the shower, black mold in the shower area, badly stained carpet, etc. The room had a bad smell of cigarettes and had a very musty smell. It was a non-smoking room. There was a lot of road noise as this hotel sits about 50 yards from Interstate 40. The entire hotel is in bad disrepair and really in unacceptable state to house guests. Upon check out, I had to wait 5 minutes for an employee to come to the desk. The ice machine in the lobby didn't work and the coffee was cold. The hotel couldn't have been any worse. I hope Red Roof Inns audits this property as it is unacceptable in so many ways.

Our non-smoking room was quite obviously smoked in and the wifi reception was very poor. Everything else is what you’d expect from a motel at this pricepoint. Check-in was fast and easy, and the beds are comfortable and clean. But once again, in this day and age, wifi this poor is surprising.

We stayed on our way to Atlanta and found the room to be very comfortable and clean. The outside was a little run down, but the neighborhood was nice and quiet. It was convenient to restaurants and shopping. We plan on stopping again on our way back.

We have been staying here or at the Beaumont Inn in this part of town for over 20 years. I heard from family that it’s not the same but we booked our trip at the last minute and this was pretty much it as far as availability. The Baymont Inn is partially burned to the ground and the outside of this hotel is rotting so it’s definitely an eye sore. High traffic but I’m unsure if it’s travelers or locals so be careful. Our room smelled like cigarettes but to our surprise it was decent you can tell they are trying to keep it updated. The rolling chairs were stained so we used the pillow cases from the beds on the chairs. We purchased pillow cases and blankets from a local Target just to be safe. The cleaning staff was nice and let us use some supplies to clean the tub, we used wipes and microban elsewhere. There were some bugs flying around unsure if they came from the sink drain or from outside. I swear I killed a baby roach on the last day. But I was so shocked and smashed it so fast I can’t be sure. Overall it’s okay if there is nothing else and maybe even if you need somewhere to lay down for a night or two. Although it’s decent I can’t say I would book it again. If you stay here keep your eyes open and doors locked locked.

$100 CASH is required as a deposit to get a room here. There is no ATM on site! This was a surprise to me, and the desk man acted like the ATM was a very quick walk over to the Citgo. The Citgo is in fact on the other side of the highway. The rooms were reasonably clean, actually no complaints about the room itself except for the nasty carpet. The fibers of the carpet were very packed-in from decades of treading, and walking on it felt like I was wearing sweaty, dirty socks. In fact, after the first night, my wife and I decided to keep our sock on when walking around the room. Also, the motel's side of town lost power our second night for about 4 hours, and we think we heard gunshots somewhere nearby. They were what woke us up at about 0330 in the morning, and that's when we decided our stay was over. Fortunately our trusty desk man was holding down the office when we walked in and demanded our 100 smackers back.
