Atlantic Beach Hotel Newport

Great location!! 5 min Uber to downtown Newport RI!!

Excellent time! Kids enjoyed the pool. Close to everything. Clean

The room was a nice size with a large sitting area and nice view of the beach and ocean. The mini fridge was set to max (cool the beer now!) and one of our non alcoholic drinks froze and exploded. The room was noisy, we could hear the kids playing in the hallway and the room service staff talking from down the hall as well as street noise. Soundproofing insulation would go a long way in the next renovation. Overall it was a nice room at a reasonable price.

Good stay! Very easy to check in (they had our room ready early). Everything was clean and relatively renovated in our room. Great location, it’s by the beach and walkable to the cliff walk (but we drove and it was 1 min away). Downtown is about a 5 min drive. Indoor pool was great given it was a little chilly when we visited. Only complaint is that WiFi was not good in our room and the elevator was a bit noisy in the morning.

Love love love this place! Always my go to hotel all year round! And their restaurant across the street is to die for! I go to it all the time whether I’m staying at the hotel or traveling down to Newport for the night!!

The location of this hotel is great if you plan on going to the beach. It is very close within walking distance.The actual hotel I was not impressed with. Anytime we called down for room service we were asked if we could come down to the front desk to get what we needed vs them bring it up to us. In some cases we did ask for things to be brought up and there were without an issue.The ground level where you enter the building had a very bad smell to it. The AC in our room was so loud and sounded like it was going to explode. I woke up very congested and stuffed up in the mornings ... guessing the AC filter was not very clean. The room seemed overall clean besides the AC.

Stayed here for one night on August 12th. Great location and good looking from the outside. Really stayed because the rooms weren’t large. A king bed and a queen bed with a 3/4 wall between them sounded awesome when traveling with older teenagers. Room was ok pool was inside and not heated. Bathroom was clean. Then it was time to sleep. Gave kids the king bed husband and I took queen. Kids went to bed first around 11:30 pm. I pull the covers down on the queen bed and the right side springs were completely broken!! The bed was collapsed into the box spring!! Go out to the front desk at midnight and she says she can move us to another room two doors down. I said can my husband and I just move kids were already sleeping. She said she cannot do that we would have to move all our stuff!! Are you kidding me! At midnight. My husband would not do it. We stayed in the room. We were not even offered a cot. Needless to say it was an awful night sleep. We slept on the same side of the bed. Next morning when checking out we mentioned it to the new person at the desk and she did not even apologize!! She said they would take care if it. I was too tired to fight. We were offered nothing. Should of fought more to get the other room for just my husband and I. How can they not know about this bed. It just says one thing that the staff does not communicate to the management and that the management does not check on the staff. There was a hotel right next to them I will not be returning to this place.

Parking was easy. Hotel main desk one flight up from parking. Indoor pool. Washer/dryer. Drink vending machine. Snacks can be purchased at front desk. Breakfast room a floor above main desk. Check in was easy after they found my reservation. Nice floors and ceilings in 2nd floor room. None of the lamps were plugged in, odd. Clock had wrong time on it, odd. Both layers of curtain falling off rack on opposite ends. Toilet seat a disgrace - old, worn out, brown. Requested a new one. Eventually got it. Hallway has smell like a chemical. Heat works well. Hot water excellent. Beds extremely comfortable. Pillows too. Breakfast ok - waffles, fruit, cereal, eggs, bagels, yogurt, juice ... Staff accommodating. Easy to walk to various restaurants or bars. Short drive to Newport. Basically hotel is right near border of Newport and Middletown.
