I stayed at this location 6 years ago and it was great, but I should have read the recent reviews (my bad), because it has gone downhill. Check in was the first sign of trouble, we saw guests trying to get rooms changed because of air conditioning problems. We checked into the room quickly because we had to be at a graduation. When we dropped our bags we noticed the room was hot, so we adjusted the thermostat. Came back in a few hours and the room was still blazing hot. Went to the front desk and was told air was broken but they are working on it. No other rooms available. Was told they would bring up fans. Went out for a few drinks, came back and air was not fixed. No fans delivered. 83 degrees in room. Windows do not open. After a couple requests for fans went unanswered, I went to the front desk again (midnight). I saw a fan behind the front desk and told the employee want it....he gave it to me and said they are still working on the air. I do not think this was true, because it was midnight and if you read the past reviews it seems the air is ALWAYS broken. Also, we ran into other guests who said their air conditioning in another wing was stuck on freezing cold and the could not adjust it. Other observations: No power to any outlets along the bedside, cords hanging under the nightstand that have no place to be plugged in. Lights at the bedside do not work. Clock broken. Only one elevator works for a multi story hotel (also in the past reviews) Coffee maker in room but no cups and related items. Went down to breakfast a half hour before close and they were out of everything accept cereal. Asked the attendant if I could get some mix for the waffle maker and he said no. Several guests came down for breakfast only to be told nothing will be refilled. The breakfast area was a sloppy mess anyhow. Take a look at the past reviews, everyone has similar complaints. I talked to the guy at the front desk who said he would add some points to my Hilton Honors, he did not. I contacted Hilton Corporate to tell them that this hotel does not meet Hilton Standards. The Hilton rep tried to reach the Hampton Manager to about the situation, I think the Hilton rep had no luck with property manager. The Hilton rep did everything she could to help, and she gave me some Hilton points for future stays (Thanks!). Bottom line, nobody should have to go through this when staying at a Hampton Inn in a great city like Milwaukee.........DONT STAY HERE.
