At first, I was confused because it was under renovation and it was closed for business. When I rang the front bell, the staff kindly explained things. Everything from room information to how to use the bathing facilities. The facilities were quite good for the price, and I could feel the feeling of a ryokan. Of course it was clean, and the bathing facilities even had a mini hot spring. It was a bit cold due to the nature of the ryokan, but it was okay because there was a kotatsu. Accessibility is near Uchinomaki Station, but it's a mountain road so you can't go anywhere at night. I think it will be very convenient for those using a rental car. The property even has its own free parking lot!

We are so happy we booked this hotel for heading to Mt Aso. First, the staff greeting was super warm and welcoming. The hotel is brand new and while our room was a great and functional design, the bed was the most comfortable western-style bed we’ve had in all of Japan! It’s location is super convenient if you arrive by train (it’s across the street) and while they don’t really have dining facilities, there is a fun outdoor market right outside where we grabbed dinner: meat skewers, mustard greens biscuit and a delicious craft beer (there is also ramen and a few other food choices).

On April 11, 2022, I had lunch in Kowloon. From there, drive to Sherpa in Kumamoto City to finish your shopping, then drive along Prefectural Route 36. Climb the outer rim of Mt. Aso. I was able to connect at 35 Mbps here within the Rakuten Mobile range. The best bath is the open-air bath where you can enjoy this view. The quality of the spring was colorless and transparent, and it did not look like a hot spring. Dinner is at the restaurant. There was a lot more than I thought in the Viking format. However, since it was the cheapest course, it became a ”buffet without a main dish” (sweat;) Tsure was mainly curry rice. The dessert made me hungry (laughs). The next morning, there was already a line at the breakfast venue. Breakfast is also buffet style. We stayed for one night from July 9 (Sat) and stayed with a couple in the Japanese style room ”Nikwa” on the third floor. The purpose of this time was to touch the nature of ASO and to feel the liberation and to soak in a hot spring with good quality of springs. The room was more modern and sophisticated than I thought and more than expected. It was a room that was renewed last year. What I was worried about was that the closet was an old Japanese house, and it smelled mold without lighting, and the mattress on the bed was a little too hard, and the view was not good even on the third floor. The bath was a pure source hanging water, which did not heating, water or circulation, and the hot water temperature was just right, and it was a very good quality hot spring as rumored. However, the size is small and there is no open-air bath. I also used ”taruyu” in the rental bath, but it was well maintained and very comfortable. The meal was ”red beef steak seat”. There were many items and all were very delicious, but I thought that the red beef of the heart was a little fat and the mountain woman fish was quite small. The service was made to be a woman from Nepal, but there were several points that I was worried about, such as vertically distributing rectangular dishes of incense. I think this is a problem of staff training. Overall, it is a very old established inn with a very historical style, and it is well understood that it is carefully maintained, and it is thought that it is a hot spring inn with a taste. I felt that the charm of this inn was exhausted by the word ”good quality hot spring”.

宿泊翌日がゴルフで利用しました。宿泊日当日は夕方より肥後大津馬勝蔵でお客さんと会食でした。会食場所まで歩いて3分で非常に楽でした。部屋は和室でしたが大きく、下手すれば4人ぐらいは泊まれる大きさでした。ちゃんと布団も敷いてありましたし、部屋はこぎれいで清潔でした。

A traditional onsen hotel, recently renovated and facilities modernised. The twin bed room is large - about 50 sq m in size. In addition, there is a balcony overlooking an excellent view. The breakfast and dinner buffet are fine, though not very special. I like the Japanese style dinner better. The hotel is situated inside the mountain. Access is not easy. There are no shops nearby.

It is a hotel in Otsu CHO, around the middle point from Kumamoto city to ASO, facing the main national route 57. 10 stories, and the building with this height in Otsu Cho is about the route in hotel. It is a so-called roadside type hotel, but it is quite fashionable, and I think it is beautiful and fashionable from the front desk on the first floor to the breakfast place. There is a W bed in a standard type room, but because of that, there is no room to put a suitcase on the floor and spread it. But there is no particular dissatisfaction. The sale here is a large bath (boiling hot water) with an open-air bath on the top floor, so the street of Otsu and the mountain of ASO are wonderful from the open-air bath, and it is not tired of seeing forever. It is also fun to see a passenger plane taking off from Kumamoto Airport nearby turning right on the hotel and heading for Honshu. Breakfast is healthy breakfast and hotel slogan, but the total vegetables of Japanese are substantial and there is also morning curry. (this curry, not spicy but delicious) I think breakfast is enough to be satisfied. The next group of men said, ”there is nothing.” (Of course there are western foods. bread is delicious) I think it is good enough considering the price and content.

The hotel is very new and the room is very clean. All the equipment is very friendly, and each bed has a power plug and USB plug at the end of the bed. The bathroom has a large bathtub and a toilet that is large enough for one person to lie flat. The only thing is that there is nothing near the hotel, the traffic is inconvenient, the nearest convenience store is about 10 minutes walk. Hotel for self-driving people.

I always use it when staying around sightseeing spots. If you go a little, there are supermarkets and eating out chains, so you will not be inconvenient. The room has been renewed and I think you can relax with a sense of cleanliness. Breakfast is delicious anyway. Especially * kake rice is the best. I'm glad that check-out is usually 11:00 instead of 10:00. I think the cost performance is generally high. There are many wonderful tourist spots in Kumamoto, so I will use them regularly again. There are several hotels nearby, but it is recommended.
