My spouse and I were in town for a week-long conference and this hotel worked out extremely well for us. Location is about half a mile from the convention center. The free ride #10 bus goes to the convention center leaving about every 15 minutes, from a stop around the corner on Nicollet. Or quite often we walked. We never tried the skyway route. Room was spacious with a living room, lovely big desk, and full kitchen. Hotel wifi worked great. Target store is nearby so I bought groceries and packed lunches and snacks, great alternative to limited dining options in the convention center. Nearby restaurants provided diverse dinner offerings. The hotel breakfast buffet exceeded expectations: scrambled and boiled eggs, bacon and sausage, whole fruit and fresh cut fruit, yogurt, milk and juice, instant steel cut oatmeal, bread and pastries…all fresh and very tasty. Nice touch: yogurt topping bar with many varieties of nuts and dried fruit. My faves were walnuts and dried cranberries. Coffee urns were located in the lobby at a distance from the food service area which was a minor inconvenience. Many hotels I visit in Europe and Asia offer a fancier coffee machine that dispenses espresso, latte, and cappuccino on demand. A machine like that would elevate this breakfast to the next level. Room was well-maintained and spotlessly clean with a comfy king sized bed. Plenty of drawers. Really quiet, too. Housekeeping was provided every other day which suits my needs just fine. Minor issue: hot water was plentiful but took a surprisingly long time to come, often exceeding several minutes’ wait, so many gallons of cold water went to waste before my early morning shower. Also housekeeping staff sometimes left all the lights and TV screens on, wasting precious electricity. Perhaps the hotel can make changes to promote more efficient use of natural resources. I enjoyed my stay thoroughly and will gladly stay there again.

We stayed there for 8 days. Overall, it was fine but one of the overnight managers was rude, inp, and passive aggressive. The Good: Decent rooms but small than I expected. I’ve been in Residence Inns in New York City with rooms that are the same size as those in Minneapolis. Parking lot is convenient and reasonably priced. Also, our room had 2 Queen beds and a full kitchen. The Bad: WThe night we checked in, we noticed that the oven was on - no idea how long that was on. Also, the stove-oven looked like it was out of the 70’s. I refused to touch. The Ugly: Daily housekeeping. The front desk staff is not on the same page and was not transparent. Instead of the details, the takeaway is the front desk established the wrong expectations - daily housekeeping. I complained repeatedly when those expectations were not met. Each time I complained, I got an apology but no one corrected the expectations by saying we don’t have the staff for daily housekeeping. If I heard that, I would have had very different expectations. In the last month, I’ve been in two other hotels that were crystal clear with housekeeping expectations- it’s not that hard. In any event, this lead to the overnight manager loudly complaining to a staff membe about “some guy constantly complaining about housekeeping. Someone should tell him we don’t have the staff.” It was rude, unprofessional, and he should have had the courage and consideration to address me directly. I don’t recommend staying here.
