I enjoyed my time at Ara Beach Resort, thanks to its excellent location and the fabulous pool. The staff were friendly and added to the resort's pleasant atmosphere.
However, I'd suggest a little more focus on cleaning and keeping the buffet breakfast items hot. The food was delicious but consistently served cold.
With these small changes, Ara Beach Resort could be even more wonderful.

The baddest hotel in mirissa. Swimming pool is very dirty.bedsheets they not change just change sides.staff are very bad habits.they don’t know how to treat clients. The receptionist girl is really bad and with bad habits she don’t know how to talk to people’s.

Ik schrijf deze review niet omdat ik een zuur mens ben, maar omdat ik niemand de ervaring toewens die ik hier heb gehad. Dit hotel kost omgerekend E 75 per nacht, een enorm bedrag hier in Sri Lanka. Het beddengoed ziet geel van de zweetvlekken, de lakens vertonen scheuren en gaten, de badhanddoeken zijn smerig. De gang van het hotel is een soort Turks stoombad, geen ventilatie, niks en ditto galm bij elke beweging van andere gasten die over de gangen lopen. Er zitten muizen en ratten in de muren van de kamers, waardoor je slecht kan slapen. De meubels in de kamer komen van de Sri Lankaanse IKEA en zijn totaal onbruikbaar, dan wel kapot. Alles ziet er verlept uit en wat werkelijk treurig maakt is dat er zichtbaar nergens liefdevolle of menselijk aandacht in is gegaan. Er is een betonnen kolos neergezet, zoals je ze overal kan vinden in de wereld, en vervolgens is deze geld generende machine geopend voor onwetende, dan wel wanhopige toeristen die een behoorlijke slaapmogelijkheid zoeken in het vreselijk overgewaardeerde Mirissa. Wat komen mensen hier toch eigenlijk doen? denk ik bij de vele toeristen "hotspots" van Sri Lanka. De Sri Lankaanse medewerkers zijn, zoals de meeste mensen hier in dit land, ontzettend lief, maar ze verbleken bij de grove geldmakerij die dit hotel kenmerkt. Bij het verzoek of ik de hoteleigenaar kon spreken over deze zaken, kreeg ik te horen dat hij het druk had en of het kon wachten tot in de avond. Ga hier niet heen, ga liever naar een goedkoop Guesthouse waar je nog iets van Sri Lankaanse authentieke cultuur kan ervaren.
