We have stayed before and the experience was similar clean, comfy and good food the rooms are not luxurious but adequate for a short stay, our only annoyance was the TV it kept scrambling when trying to watch the news etc maybe Tv systems need to be updated all staff were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble .

Shocking service when out for a meal with my kids and friend. Plates were too hot for kids, no issue if waiting staff let us know at time of placing on table. Disgusting attitude from waitress however the food was beautiful..................

Lovely stay. Only there for one night but checking in was quick/easy. Very friendly staff. Room was comfortable, not luxury but definitely clean with a spacious bathroom and lots of storage for luggage (room 23). I’m fine with stairs but there is no elevator. I’m sure they have service for delivering bags. The restaurant in the hotel was fantastic. Massive portions, fair pricing and very tasty. I would grab lunch or dinner there even if I wasn’t actually a guest at the hotel.

Had the garlic and mushroom stroganoff and I wish I hadn’t, the whole dish tasted of garlic it was so strong I couldn’t taste anything else, only good thing is I won’t be worried about any vampires coming near me or anyone else the staff seemed ok

Had a four night stay at The George Hotel in June 2024. This was our first visit to Montrose, we decided to have a holiday therein order to visit the Montrose Basin Nature Reserve. The hotel staff were friendly. We were given room 4, which was spacious, and also had a large bathroom. The room overlooked the road but noise wasn't a problem. The beds were comfortable, and I really couldn't fault the room. The hotel offer a laundry service, which we made use of. The laundry prices were very reasonable. We loved the cooked to order breakfasts - Arbroath Smokie, Stornoway black pudding, potato scones are just some of the cooked foods available. We also liked the fruit salad bowls. We would definitely stay here again if we visited Montrose.

We stayed here for a night whilst touring in the area and had a great stay. The car park is across the street with an automatic barrier which needs a token to exit. The room was comfortable with everything we needed for a good nights sleep. The breakfast was the highlight of the stay - the food and the super friendly Susie who took the time to chat to us about the local area. We really enjoyed our stay!!

Wish I had read reviews. Disastrous meal. Should have requested steak knife to cut wrap and don’t even ask about the fajitas. I have to write 200 words apparently. This is going to be difficult as there is really nothing more I can say. Staff? Polite. Nervous. Certainly didn’t communicate with kitchen or management.

Met by a very helpful and funny lady on checking in. As the trip was for sport with my adult son she very kindly changed our room to number 27 that contained two bedrooms and a spacious bathroom. Room was clean and warm and the breakfast superb. Ideal for a football trip for two blokes

Not Great!! Service was poor,no empathy at all after we complained about a few aspects with our food ,and tried to charge full price, I think not! Heard lots of poor stuff recently about this place mostly staff attitude being bad etc ,so vote with your feet and AVOID 🤢🤢
