Pafuri Tented Camp is one of the most wonderful places to stay in South Africa. From the beautifully appointed tents with luxurious decor, to the dawn and dusk chorus surrounding your tent, to the sumptuous and diverse meals provided on the deck overlooking the Luvuvhu River, to the unparallelled services with a smile to the game drives and extensive knowledge of the guides, not to mention the diverse habitats that includes Baobab- and Fever Tree forests, this is a place you will want to return to again and again.

We came to Pafuri in the northern Kruger for birding and to discoover historical sites. We spent 3 wonderful nights at return Africa-Pafuri camp All the staff was incredible and helpful. The food was also very good and the tents really cleaned and well maintained. The decoration in the whole camp is simply elegant. There is always game or birds walking in the river bed. The ranger Agani, exceptionnal. He did his best during the game drive to show us different rare birds. Cyril guided us to the Thula Mela site . This is a must for anybody interested in History: The ruins of an old african Kingdom connected to the Mapungunbwe site and the Great Zimbabwe site. This part of the Kruger is so different. We will come back for sure in the future !

A wonderful 3 nights at Pafuri Tented Camp to celebrate our Anniversary. We cannot praise all the staff highly enough for their amazing attitude and attention to the smallest detail. Cyril, our very knowledgeable guide, took us on amazing safaris to view both animals and birds (a few "lifers"). Nothing is ever too much trouble for the staff at this amazing lodge. We will be back!

Pafuri Tented Camp is a bit off the normal tourist route, but definitely worth the effort getting there. The staff, attention to detail and tasteful way everything is put together is special. The food well prepared and tasty and whilst it isn't fine dining, it is very thoughtfully put together and there is a fair amount of creativity in what is served. The staff makes this place even more special with each of them being personally tied into the stories that are the history of the land. Their warmth and welcoming nature just makes it so comfortable and the way they tend to your needs is subtle and unobtrusive but no one misses a beat.
