We stayed here for a quick stop while driving down to LA. The hotel itself wasn’t bad and the lady that checked us in was very sweet. Very close to restaurants and shops. Unfortunately, we were awoken at 12:30 a.m. to a woman screaming in what seemed like she was in distress and needed help. I called the front desk to report it and later saw the police were called and a gentleman was arrested. I could here the police, the woman and gentleman talking very loudly outside our room for over an hour. I believe it was a domestic incident and it was one room away. The couple was very intoxicated!! Needless to say after hearing all of that, our family wasn’t able to go back to sleep. While I know this is an isolated incident and isn’t fault to the hotel we will never stay here again. I’m glad we woke up to report it because I’m not sure what would of happened to the lady. We were trying to get a good nights sleep and instead wasted over $300 one on night and weren’t even able to sleep.

We stayed in the Portside Suite for three nights in April, and I cannot say enough good things about this hotel! The room was more spacious than I expected with a comfortable king bed, sitting area, and balcony overlooking the water. We woke up to baby sea otters playing right outside, and the room came with a pair of binoculars for watching all the sea life. It was chilly in the evenings, so we used the fireplace in our room and cozied up in the plush bathrobes. Other nice touches include wine glasses in the room, a jacuzzi tub, and mini fridge/microwave. Parking was free and easy, and we didn't need our car for the rest of the trip since everything on the Embarcadero is within walking distance. The hotel staff went above and beyond to recommend dining and activities. We enjoyed a seafood dinner at The Galley restaurant just downstairs, and rented an electric boat from their sister property Estero Adventures. We came home feeling truly relaxed, and can't wait to return next time we're in need of a weekend getaway.

Beautifully renovated inn with laid back charm and nice decor. The bathroom needs some upkeep, but overall a nice place to stay for a long weekend. Sound insulation can be a bit poor. Main lobby and reception is modern, large with view over the lagoon and the Morro rock.
