Mountain View Hotels in Suzhou

We had a wonderful 2 nights in this family-run hotel. The host was extremely kind, friendly and helpful; he made us feel completely at home, and even gave us two delicious homemade ‘lard cakes’ to take with us because we’d enjoyed them so much at breakfast one morning! The rooms are lovely - spacious, very light, bright and private. Really nice interior design. Ours was on the top floor with a roof top deck and great views over the lake and village. The bed was very comfortable with fresh, clean linen and towels. There’s a kettle on the room but you need to bring your own tea or coffee. That said, tea and hot water were available 24-hours a day downstairs. The meals in the hotel restaurant were delicious and fresh; they’re cooked onsite with ingredients that are caught or grown on the island, and are very good value. We ate breakfast (included) both mornings and dinner on our first night. We felt very welcome and would definitely stay here again if we came back. The main thing to note is that the host (and very few people on the island) speak English, so having some Chinese definitely helps! But we felt very welcome at all times, even when our language skills reached their limits!

Hidden away in the beautiful West Taihu Lake is a stunning guesthouse! Surrounded by the lake on three sides and backed by mountains, it's built right by the water, offering direct views of Taihu Lake. The overall design is bright and pristine white, blending diverse elements like Chinese and French styles, earning it the nickname ”Suzhou's Santorini.” The scenery is absolutely breathtaking, with gorgeous sunsets. The service is warm and friendly, and the facilities are top-notch. Each room boasts enormous 180-degree lake view floor-to-ceiling windows, electric blinds, electric screens, sound systems, private projection cinemas, smart toilets, lake-facing bathtubs, and high-quality toiletries. In summer, you can enjoy the outdoor pool, and there's even a 'Sky Realm' on the rooftop! Public facilities like the gym and mahjong room are also fully equipped! It's a one-stop destination for fun! If you're visiting Taihu Lake, this place is a must-try.

Travel with the baby and leave! I originally thought about finding a store for a drink temporarily, but I didn't expect to be attracted by the scenery facing the mountain lake and the European style when I entered the door. I suddenly attracted family and children. I immediately thought about staying for one night to experience the high luxury butler service. After the incident, the family and children liked it very much. Whether it was the pool or the room, or even the tea was very heartwarming, and they would come back to experience other room types.

Even though the weather was uncooperative, with endless rain dampening our spirits a bit, the service at Elegant QinChuan Residence still made me feel right at home. From a warm cup of tea upon arrival to a friendly greeting when leaving, and even quick solutions for minor issues, everyone at the hotel tried their best to help. A special shout-out to Dong Lamei at the front desk – not only did she upgrade our room and send welcome fruit for me and my child, but she also thoughtfully prepared contingency plans for a temporary power outage due to line maintenance, anticipating potential inconvenience for guests.

Three words to describe this guesthouse: great, affordable, and excellent! For this price, service, location, and environment, it's an absolute steal! You can walk to the subway station and several attractions. Plus, there's a restaurant right next door, and it's delicious and cheap! I was initially worried about hygiene due to the low price, but thankfully the reviews weren't fake – the room and bathroom were clean! The owner and his daughter are incredibly friendly and helpful! We couldn't check in until 4 AM, and the owner's daughter waited up for us that late and even helped us carry our heavy luggage upstairs. When we had issues with our **[missing word/item in original review]**, the owner's daughter enthusiastically helped us order food and taught us how to use it. We are so grateful! We will definitely come back next time we visit Suzhou! We truly adore them both!

I brought my daughter to Taihu Lake for her birthday and chose the hotel closest to Xishan Island 🏨. The room was quite spacious, and most importantly, there were plenty of activities for kids. They have a sandpit, a swimming pool, and bikes for rent in various sizes, which was very convenient. There were also beautiful fireworks on Saturday night 🎇. Our stay was made even better by our butler, Nadia, who greeted us before check-in. We didn't have to worry about a thing; any questions or issues were promptly addressed. Overall, it was a great experience 👍.

My husband and I were met with the warmest of welcomes here! The hosts and staff were all really friendly and willing to even prepare some dinner for us after we arrived late in the evening. The gardens are beautiful and well-tended and lovely to just walk around in or sit and enjoy. We had a queen bed room Mountain View - which was quite spacious, smelled fresh and was exceptionally clean, with sufficient amenities even a balcony and mini-sauna. Breakfast was local-style and very filling. This location is great for a remote getaway experience, for some peace and quiet and if you want to explore nature. The only thing to note is that the surrounding village is rather small so there aren’t many other food options/ stores etc, so best to come prepared. All in all, we had a wonderful time and are hoping to return in the spring!

I was upgraded to a room on the 2nd floor with a beautiful view. What really blew me away was the hotel lobby – the design aesthetics are just incredible, absolutely stunning! The whole hotel is filled with lush greenery, giving you a real vacation vibe. The breakfast was Western style, not really to my taste, but the environment was definitely amazing. The food near the hotel, especially the chicken wontons, was surprisingly good – I'll definitely be having them again next time! The service was also great, and they even have a shuttle bus.

I've always been a big fan of the Marriott brand, and I've been a loyal elite member for nearly 20 years. This stay, however, was incredibly disappointing and shocking. (1) After checking in and entering my room, I happily opened the balcony door to admire the lake view. To my absolute horror, a male housekeeper from the adjacent room, who was cleaning, walked onto the balcony and spat forcefully downwards. (I've already emailed Marriott headquarters with the room number and time of this incident.) His action genuinely startled me. (2) Even more unbelievable, around 8:45 PM, the entire hotel suddenly experienced a power outage without any prior warning. I couldn't even reach the front desk. Power was restored about 15 minutes later, but there was no follow-up communication or attempt to appease guests afterward. (3) I went for breakfast in the morning. Since it started at 7 AM, I arrived at the restaurant around 7:25 AM. The food was actually quite decent, the usual quality, but when I picked up a steamed bun, it was cold. Surely, if the restaurant opens at 7, the buns aren't just starting to steam at that time? Filled with disappointment and frustration, I checked out immediately. I never imagined Marriott hotels would decline to this extent. I'll be waiting to see how headquarters responds to my email in the coming days.

Whether you’re doing laps or simply lounging by the pool, it’s a delightful spot to unwind. Breathtaking Views: Suzhou Xunyi’s location is a dream come true for nature enthusiasts. You can choose to climb nearby mountains or simply soak in the stunning views of the serene lake. It’s a paradise for those seeking both relaxation and adventure. Exceptional Hosts: The hosts, whom I had the pleasure of meeting, are truly remarkable. Their passion for hospitality shines through in every aspect of the B&B. They are attentive, friendly, and genuinely care about their guests’ well-being. Affordable Green Tea: I appreciated the thoughtful touch of having green tea available at a fair price. It’s a small detail, but it made my stay even more enjoyable. In summary, Suzhou Xunyi Holiday B&B is a gem.
